Wynell Keel

06/18/2024 - 09:27 , by TKing09

Wynell F. Keel, 74, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving husband and her four adult children.

Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday June 21, 2024, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Saturday, June 22, 2024, at PaulAnn Church with Pastor Mark Riggins, pastor of LifePoint Church in Plano and Pastor Kirt Dauphin, pastor of PaulAnn Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Keel was born May 8,1950 in San Angelo to CJ and Joyce Ford. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Joe David Keel, on June 12, 1970 in San Angelo. They were married for 54 years.

To know Wynell was to love her. She loved to love on people. Her kids and grandkids were her pride and joy. She had the biggest servant's heart and loved to serve at her church, PaulAnn Church. She has impacted the lives of many people over the years with her caring and giving heart. She was known for her handmade cards that she made and sent to everyone she knew for birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.

Wynell has worked many clerical and bookkeeping jobs over the years. She spent many years working for San Angelo ISD in various administrative roles and on several different school campuses. She retired from SAISD in 2005 and briefly came out of retirement to take an office position at PaulAnn Church for a few years before retiring a second time. After that, she continued to be very involved and volunteered regularly at the church.

Her life was a living example of one of her many favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

Wynell left a legacy of love, compassion, and service. She made a statement right after we received the diagnosis that was really powerful. She said, "Live your life today as if you're not gonna be here tomorrow." That is exactly how she lived her life. She also was known to say, "Remember to 'SHINE FOR JESUS' no matter where you are and what the circumstance is."

Wynell is survived by her husband, Joe D. Keel of the home; four children, Candy Sinar and husband Paul of Bellevue, Iowa, Tammy Harper and husband Ronald of Christoval, Kelli Gandy and husband Aaron of San Angelo, and Cody Keel and wife Kimberly of Goldthwaite; 13 grandchildren, Vicky, Emily, Tyler, Haley, Ashley, Jailynne, Lucas, Addison, Aubrey, Bryson, Kaylyn, Stetson, and Callen; her siblings, James W. Ford, Sr. of Brownwood, Elaine Johnston of San Angelo, Deborah Ford of San Angelo, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Wynell was preceded in death by her parents, CJ & Joyce Ford and granddaughter, Lily Carol Sinar.

The family would like to thank HOSA, Dr. Cheruku, Dr. Nwokoye, and Dr. Harvey for the excellent care.

Memorials may be made to PaulAnn Church, 2531 Smith Blvd., San Angelo, Texas 76905

Pallbearers will be Dan Keel, Bryson Keel, Phil Todd, Mark Calvert, Travis Griffith, and Dillion Ballard.

Sharon married Hubert Gauwain and together they had four children – Barry Gauwain, Sherri Gauwain Sanderfur, Terry Gauwain, and Race Gauwain. Sharon was an amazing mother. She had a special ability to keep up with all her boys with the help of Sherri. Together they were determined for those boys to have everything they needed. Sharon was also a mom to all her kid’s friends. They always had a houseful of kids coming and going. Sharon made countless Ham Sandwiches and bowls of homemade Salsa for all of them along with her famous sweet tea. Her home was a safe place for many. While raising her family she worked at the San Angelo State School for many years as a nurse. She loved her career and helping to care for others. Her work ethic was unmatched as a nurse and as a mother. She carried all her burdens in life with beautiful strength.

Sharon became a Nana and a great Nana. She was full of love for Marcus, Kyli, Kelton, Kaiden, Devyn, Michael, Cameron, Jax, Trace, Atalie, Ryland, and Mackenzie. Anything from creating treasure hunts, buying little purses for the girls, watching football games and just spending time with them all.

Sharon lived most of her life in Texas except for a short stay in Northern California to spend time with family there. Sharon loved to have lots of plants, she loved to have gardens, shopping Goodwill, thrifting, and lunch at Franco’s with her friends. One of her favorite things to do was to ride around on her buggy in Walmart buying groceries and meeting strangers. She talked to everybody. Just a few of her best friends to mention for sure were Ella Fesperman, Mary Henry, Connie Whitacre, and Beverly Baisden.

Sharon especially loved her dogs, Sugar, Harley, and Judy. And she left behind her stray cat that she took in and named Mama Cat. She was an amazing cook and kept a very clean house. She took pride in everything that she was ever responsible for.

Sharon loved the Lord. She always talked about the “Good Lord.” She wasn’t afraid of leaving this world. She knew where she was going, and she looked forward to being reunited with her mother, whom she spoke about often. Outside of work, Pamela was an active member of the AA organization, providing support and guidance to those in search of changing their lives through belief in a higher being. Pam continued her love for horses, especially her mare “Dancer” and found solace and joy in spending time on horseback and just commiserating with them. She also enjoyed going to her mountain “Cabin” in Alto, NM where she and her trusty Texas Blue Lacy, Reina would take long and extended hikes on the back trails, enjoying the deer and elk and the occasional coyote they would discover on their treks.

On June 12, 2024, Pamela passed away after a brave battle with Lymphoma Cancer. Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren and all of those lives she touched with her kindness and compassion.

Veronica Frances Quinn

06/17/2024 - 09:07 , by TKing09

Veronica Krzysiak Quinn, age 96, died peacefully in the care of her family on June 5, 2024.

Veronica was born on Jan. 15, 1928, to Frances and Michael Plizga in Detroit. The devout Catholic, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, poured her soul into her faith, family and into one of her first loves – teaching.

Veronica became the first woman in her family to attend college, enrolling at the University of Michigan’s prestigious School of Business Administration (since renamed the Stephen M. Ross School of Business) where she competed and thrived in a Post-World War II environment, proudly earning her bachelor’s degree in 1950. At Michigan, she was initiated into Alpha Delta Pi. Later, she obtained her masters in education from Marygrove College in Detroit.

Veronica spent the next 25 years educating students in the Detroit public school system. In 1954, she married Andrew Krzysiak and the two lived 46 wonderful years together, raising two daughters, Margaret and Marilyn, in Dearborn, Michigan.

Following Veronica and Andrew’s retirement, the two moved across the country in 1996 to San Angelo, Texas, to be near their daughter, Marilyn, and grandchildren, Andrew (7) and Allison (5) – a reflection of their love and commitment to family.

Following the death of Veronica’s husband, Andrew, she remarried Frank Quinn on New Year’s Day 2002. Veronica lived post-retirement life to its fullest during her 25 years in San Angelo as a mainstay within Holy Angels Catholic Church while maintaining regular involvement in social activities including dance club, book club and bridge.

With health declining, Veronica moved to Houston in 2021 and remained active in her new senior living home at The Village of River Oaks. Her latter years were full of love and fulfillment thanks to the staff, caregivers, and many friends at The Village, as well as ever-present family support.

06/14/2024 - 09:14 , by TKing09

Sunny McCormick Stinson, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born on September 2,1938 in Littlefield, Texas, to Jack and Mary (Favor) McCormick. Sunny married Ronald Stinson on January 11, 1957, in Muleshoe, Texas. They met at Muleshoe High School in class where Sunny had just started school. Ron and his buddies were acting up in class and the teacher made him go sit in the front of the class next to her as she was sitting alone. They had known each other for three months before they married. Sunny and Ron shared 67 and a half years of marriage together. Most of those years they worked side-by-side in their upholstery business, Ron’s Coach Works. Throughout the years they were constant companions going to antique car shows, swap meets and traveling in the motor home that Ron built. They made lifelong friendships with many wonderful people. Those who knew Sunny delighted in her continual “sunny” disposition and love for her family and friends. She never met a stranger, treated everyone like family, and was “Mom” to many. Sunny is survived by her husband, Ronald, children, Terry Clark (Dewey), Donna Stinson, Carol Stevens, and Betty Jo Switalski (Mike). She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Matthew Clark, Michael Clark (Tyara), Mitchell Clark, Jerod Williams (Michelle), Grant Stevens (Jessica), Andrew Stevens (Alison), Shelly Revia, Anthony Switalski (Amanda), John Switalski, Kaila Switalski and sixteen great grandchildren. Sunny’s request was not to have a funeral but often said we should have a party. So in lieu of a funeral the family will have a celebration of life later at a date to be determined.
