Carlos "Pops" Lejia

Carlos "Pops" Leija, 67, of San Angelo passed away on Monday, April 1, 2025.

Viewing will be from 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2025 at Miles Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Leija was born on April 4, 1957 in Mereta to Jose Pepe and Guadlupe Leija. Carlos was married to Irma Gonzales for over 40 years. She died in 2019. Carlos worked in traffic control for the City of San Angelo for over 30 years. He loved fishing, drag racing, watching wrestling, cooking out and the Dallas Cowboys. Carlos was genuine, humble, caring, loving and always willing to help someone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Antonio Leija.

Carlos is survived by two sons, Danny Leija and wife Jennifer and Juan Leija and fiance, Jessica; a brother, Raymond Leija; six grandchildren, Jalee Dianne Wiley, Scottie Soliz, Kortnee Leal, Kassidy Ruiz, Derrick Ruiz, and Dominick Ruiz; and four great grandchildren.
