Michael E. Fullen, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home at Lake Coleman, Texas, on April 2, 2025. He was born on October 9, 1945, in Coleman, Texas, to Howard Irvin Fullen and Evelyn Louise Mercer Fullen. Michael lived a life marked by hard work, family devotion, and a love for the outdoors.
Michael dedicated many years of his career to working as a lineman, displaying a strong work ethic throughout his professional journey. He was employed by the Coleman County Electric Cooperative, followed by the Hamilton County Electric Cooperative, and ultimately served for many years with the Concho Valley Electric Cooperative, from which he eventually retired. In 2011, after his retirement, Michael and his wife, Martha, moved to Lake Coleman, where they continued to build cherished memories together.
Their love story began on January 18, 1975, when Michael and Martha exchanged vows in her grandmother's home near Valera. Together, they celebrated 50 years of marriage, a milestone that reflects the deep bond they shared. Michael was a devoted husband and father, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength. He is survived by his wife Martha Fullen, son Michael Fullen, Jr. and his wife Lucille, son Eric William Fullen and his wife Heather, and son Edward Duane Fullen. His grandchildren, Kolt Fullen, Ethan William Fullen, and Allison Renee Fullen, along with his great-granddaughter Mikaiah Fullen, brought immense joy to his life, as did his two step-grandchildren.
Beyond his family life, Michael upheld a sense of duty and honor through his military service. He served with pride in the United States Army, specifically in the esteemed 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, where he faced significant challenges and became a 100% disabled veteran due to exposure to Agent Orange.
Michael's personality shone brightly among family and friends, known for being hardworking, kind, and friendly. His interests spread beyond work; he enjoyed fishing, reading, and taking care of his yard, activities that brought him peace and fulfillment.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Evelyn Fullen and brothers Richard Fullen and Eddie Fullen.
Michael E. Fullen’s graveside service, with military honors, will be held at Talpa Cemetery Pavilion in Talpa, Texas, on April 7, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Walter Williams of Eastland, officiating. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
