Texas Tech Athletics announced Thursday it has received a $25 million gift from Board of Regents member and former football letterwinner Cody Campbell that will kick off fundraising for the final project in its three-part master plan for the Red Raider football program, the south end zone to Jones AT&T Stadium.
The public is invited to join the Angelo State University campus community to give the Rams football team a rousing send off at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, at the San Angelo Regional Airport as the team departs for its quarterfinal playoff game in Golden, Colorado.
ARLINGTON, TX — The second round of the UIL Texas High School Football Playoffs came to a close tonight, Nov. 20, as the Midland Legacy Rebels (10-1) traveled to Arlington and took on the Southlake Carroll Dragons (11-0) at Globe Life Field at 8 p.m. RB Mikhilyn Young never quite got going on the ground, and the rest of the Rebels’ offense fell flat for much of the game. Southlake Carroll won handily tonight, 42-7.
EL PASO, TX — High school football playoffs kicked off as the San Angelo Central Bobcats (4-6) traveled back to El Paso to take on the Eastlake Falcons (9-1) at Socorro Stadium at 6 p.m.. The ‘Cats had their struggles throughout the season but finally pulled everything together for a strong performance. Though the Bobcats played well enough to win the game, last-second heroics by the Falcons ended the ‘Cats hopes of advancing to the second round of the playoffs as they fell 21-17.
