Johnny Granado Jr.

Johnny Granado Jr, age 68, of San Angelo, TX was called by God on May 31, 2024. He was born on October 29,1955 to Johnny Granado Sr. and Aurora D. Granado in Marfa, TX. Johnny was raised in the Catholic faith and graduated from Marfa High School in 1974. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and proudly served from 1974 to 1980. Johnny also attended Sul Ross State University. He loved to do many things such as fishing, hunting, camping, shooting, BBQ cooking, as well as spending time with family and friends. Johnny was a quiet and gentle man, however he did have a very humorous side to him and liked laughing at many of his own jokes. He was a person who didn't have the word “No” in his vocabulary. He was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved with all his heart with everything he did, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and old-time friends.

He is survived by his partner Joy (Cissi) Wood; father Johnny Granado Sr., children: Lauren Michelle Campos and husband Tomas, Michael Vincent Granado; siblings Valery G. Baeza and husband Frank, Veronica G. Mees and husband Mitchell, Diane Granado; grandchildren Alexander Granado, Andrew Granado, Anthony Campos, Alyssa Campos, Jaylen (Spudsy) Cook, Paxton Cook and Landon Cook; favorite "brothers" John (Rusty) Lujan and Frank Baeza as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Aurora D. Granado, son, Christopher John Granado, sister, Melissa G. Lujan.

A rosary will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 6:15 PM at Harper Funeral Home, San Angelo, TX.

Betty Isabel Ford

Betty Isabel Ford, 73, of San Angelo, TX died May 31, 2024, from complications from dementia.

Betty was born August 8, 1950, in Taylor, TX to Morris and Lucille Isabel. Betty graduated from Central High School in 1968. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from ASU in 1977.

Betty married Mike Ford on November 27, 1981, and their daughter, Elizabeth, was born on July 3, 1987.

Betty’s passion was advocating for the elderly. She began her career at Concho Valley City of Governments where she became the Director of the Area Agency on Aging (AAA). Betty completed her career at the Department of Agency and Disability Services in Austin. Betty established various programs while at AAA – Foster Grandparents, Senior Companion and Senior Spring Fling.

Betty was a member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Junior League, Master Gardener, and several book clubs. She was a vocal and proud democrat.

Betty enjoyed reading, following politics, visiting presidential libraries, playing with her grandchildren, watching Lifetime movies, and attempting arts and crafts, and enjoying a cold drink sitting next to or in any body of water. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Tallmon and husband Will; grandchildren, Memphis Belle, Zadock Michael, and Livy James, all of San Angelo; siblings, Aaron Isabel, Deborah Huntsucker, and Dave Isabel and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, June 29, 2024, at First Christian Church in San Angelo. The family is requesting that everyone in attendance wear Betty’s favorite color, coral/orange, and to bring with them their favorite story to the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Christian Church or Hospice of San Angelo.

Juan Francisco Sánchez Ramírez se fue a su casa en el cielo, el primero de Junio de 2024 a sus 87 años.

Su familia celebra su vida y nos entristece tener que decir adiós por un tiempo. Algún día nos volvemos a ver y reunirnos con él en nuestra casa del Señor.

Juan fue un hombre leal, trabajador y buen padre de familia. Leal por servirle a Dios, a su familia y a su segunda patria en las Fuerzas Armadas de Los Estados Unidos. Trabajó en la industria petrolera por 23 años y fue padre de cuatro hijos. Nació en San José de Aura, Coahuila y se hizo residente de los Estados Unidos años después.

Lo preceden en muerte sus padres Vicente Ramírez Aguilar y su madre Santos Sánchez Barrientos, cuatro hermanos Guadalupe Ramírez, Antonio Ramírez, Lorenzo Ramírez, y Javier Ramírez.

Lo sobreviven, su esposa Susana Peña Ramírez, sus cuatro hijos, diez nietos y 23 bisnietos. Una hermana María del Refugio Ramírez de Cedillo y numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas.

Servicios fúnebres serán el 5 y 6 de Junio, de 2024. Visitación en Robert Massie Funeral Home en San Ángelo, Texas de 11 a.m. - 8 p.m., incluyendo rosario a las 6 p.m. El 6 de Junio se llevará a cabo una misa en la iglesia Católica de Santa Margarita de Cortona en Big Lake, Texas, seguido por su sepultura en el cementerio Glen Rest.

Tu vida te llevó a conocer muchos caminos y culturas, tristezas y alegrías, y Dios dijo, <<se cumplió tu jornada y tú me aceptaste con los brazos abiertos.>>

Descansa en paz querido Padre.

Juan Francisco Sánchez Ramírez went home to heaven on June 1, 2024 at the age of 87.

His family celebrates his life and it saddens us to have to say goodbye for a while. Someday we will meet again in the house of our Lord. Juan was a loyal man, hardworking and a good father. He was loyal in serving God, his family, and his second homeland in the United States Armed Forces. He worked in the oil industry for 23 years and was the father of 4 children. He was born in San Jose de Aura, Coahuila and became a resident of the United States years later.

He is preceded in death by his parents Vicente Ramírez Aguilar and his mother Santos Sánchez Barrientos, four siblings Guadalupe Ramírez, Antonio Ramírez, Lorenzo Ramírez y Javier Ramírez.

He is survived by his wife Susana Peña Ramírez, his four children, ten grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. A sister, Maria del Refugio Ramírez de Cedillo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Public viewing will be from 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 6, 2024 at St. Margaret of Cortana Catholic Church in Big Lake with Rev. Balachandra Nagapogu, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Your life led you through many paths and cultures, sorrows and joys, and God said, <<Your journey was fulfilled, and you accepted me with open arms.>>

Rest in peace Dear Father.

Willard Dale Hartnagle

Willard Dale Hartnagle passed away Sunday May 25, 2024, at his home in San Angelo, Texas, at 86 years old. He was born to Robert Hartnagle and Ruthe Ramsey Hartnagle in Longmont Colorado. He had one brother and one sister. Willie married Jackie Morris Hartnagle on October 17, 1954, they had two children, Scott and Kathy Hartnagle.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM, June 11, 2024, at Celebration Church in San Angelo, Texas.

Willie never met a stranger, at age 5 he started auctioneering at box socials and at his father’s sale barn in Longmont. He said he knew from that age he would follow in his father’s footsteps. Shortly after his marriage to Jackie his father passed, and he took over the business at 17. He grew the business even bigger when he added farm equipment and machinery to his Auction lists. Willie was known to get the job done and not linger he always had the crowd excited to see what was going to be said next. The local morning radio station had him on daily to announce livestock prices and news. When his kids were growing up, he was involved in events for Little Britches and 4H and many other things.

After Cowboy Willie retired, he spent countless hours with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. If he wasn’t watching a softball game or another sport event, he was teaching his great grandchildren something special about life. One thing is certain, he will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

He is survived by wife Jackie Hartnagle of San Angelo, TX, grandson Heath Hartnagle of Phoenix, AZ, granddaughter Nicole and her husband Andy Bordelon their children Andrew Bordelon and Patrick and Preston Bordelon of Pleasant Valley, Utah, granddaughter Kasey Jo Hart and her children Khloe Belen Hart and Hattie Ava Hart of San Angelo, Tx, and his niece Deborah Dekker of Sierra Vista, Az.

He was preceded in death by Mother Ruthe Ramsey Hartnagle, Robert Hartnagle, son Willard Scott Hartnagle and daughter Kathy Jo Hartnagle.

The Family thanks Dr. Michael Boyd who gave us the blessing of spending a few more years with Papa, the nursing staff at Community hospital especially Renee Pyle who would still call to check on grandpa. Dr. Peter Chang, Dr. Cheraku and Shannon Hospital. Pat Braden for her time and friendship in emergency situations, Walt and Dorley Harris for many things. Celebration Church and Pastor Brandon and family and Jose Rosales.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Cowboy Willie.

Velma Pearl Knox

Velma Pearl Knox was born December 8, 1938, in San Angelo, TX and went to join family in heaven on May 30, 2024. She was a 1951 graduate from Central High School. She married Max Knox on March 9, 1956, in San Angelo. They lived in Abilene, Lubbock, Post and moved back to San Angelo in 1968. Velma worked at several banks in the home loan departments. When Rebecca (aka Becky, sister) was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, she started her own cleaning business in San Angelo and surrounding counties for farmers and ranchers. She was always the happiest when she was helping someone or taking care of them. She took Rebecca all over to numerous doctors and hospitals and donated one of her kidneys to her. After Rebecca passed away, Max was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, and she took care of him until he passed. She then went to work at her church and Rust Street Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, daughter Rebecca aka Becky, her parents Henry and Louise Parker, sister Melba Kay Lee, brother Herbert Mike Parker, brother-in-law Robert F. Knox, Jr. aka Bo, and great granddaughter Kadyn Paige Wilson.

Survivors include son Clifton “Clif” Knox and wife Judy; grandson Bo Knox and wife Angela; granddaughter Rindi Wilson and husband Stephen; Grandson Dusty White and wife Jennifer; great-grandchildren Rylie and Taylor White, Kalyn Belle and Brynlie Rose Wilson and Annalise; sister-in-law Becky Knox; niece Jennifer Heartsock and husband Jamie; and great nephews Justin, Jason and great niece Jordyn; son-in-law Michael White; and brother-in-law Richard “Dick” Lee.

Special hugs and thank you to Alice Lee, Carol and Sonny and the brigade of Southgate Church of Christ and church ladies.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Eddie Howard officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in her name to American Diabetes Association, Parkinson’s Foundation, Rust Street Ministries or Meals for the Elderly.

Cody Wayne Templeton

Cody Wayne Templeton, of San Angelo, Texas passed away May 30,2024 at the age of 34. He is survived by his father Jimmy Templeton his wife Holley, his mother Cherie Russell her husband Robbie, his grandfather Jimmy Templeton. He is also survived by the siblings he cherished, Chris Shrier, Courtney Templeton, Christy Jacob's, RJ Russell and Justin Templeton. He is also survived by his nephew and nieces that he loved dearly and also his partner Lisa Crider. Cody was preceded in death by his 2 grandmother's Linda Reed September 11,2011 and Geneva McGary September 18, 2003 . Cody had so many friends that touched him deeply, he was an amazing son, brother and uncle. Cody will never be forgotten.

Patricia "Pat" Jo Carney Gower

Patricia "Pat" Jo Carney Gower passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the age of 72. Her final moments were spent peacefully surrounded by family.

Pat was the first born into the union of John R Carney and JoAnne Thompson Carney on July 20, 1951, in San Angelo, TX. She attended school in McCamey, TX from 1957- 1965 and completed her education at San Angelo Central High School in 1969. She worked at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens and for many years in the insurance industry. After 21 years helping clients with individual health, Medicare and Medicare supplements at Zesch and Pickett, she retired. Pat and her late husband Paul loved "Texas Music" and were season ticket holders at the Eden Green Apple Music Series where they made many friends. Known for her love of animals, delicious sugar cookies and kind heart, Pat will be dearly missed by all she has touched.

She is survived by her son Brian Scherf and wife Dusty, daughter Leslie Stuart and husband Nick, stepson Paul Gower Jr.; grandchildren Kyler Scherf, Christopher Scherf, Jarad Mease, Loren Froehlich, Kadyn Scherf, Riley Bell and Trevor Teague; Mother JoAnne Krall-Eisenbach; sisters Dianne Holland and Elaine Catrett.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gower Sr.; Father John R; brother John Rex and infant sister Sherry Sue.

She was blessed to have received such wonderful care and love from Schleicher County Nursing Home and St. Gabriel's Hospice.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Cassie's Place Rescue, Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice.

Memorial Service will be held at Harper Funeral Home, San Angelo, TX on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2:00pm with Craig Meyers officiating.
