Dreda Renee Carpenter

Dreda Renee "Mummy" Jacoby Carpenter, 58, of Eola passed peacefully with her family by her bedside on Thursday, September 29, 2022.

Mrs. Carpenter was born on Jan 1, 1964 In San Angelo to James and Dreda Jacoby. She attended Wall High School, graduating in the class of 1983. Shortly thereafter marring the love of her life Joseph Carpenter of Oklahoma.

She worked in the oilfield as a secretary for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mom to daughter Amanda Carpenter Wahmann. In 2002 Renee moved to Eola to care for her aging parents. She later became a nurse's assistant finishing her career at San Angelo Nursing and Rehab. She was forced to stop working when she was diagnosed with Stage  four lung and liver cancer.

Renee had many hobbies including arts and crafts, baking and cooking, the Eola VFD Ladies Auxiliary, spending time with family, traveling, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her special friends, Linda Escamilla of Eola, Sandee Farek of Refugio, Dana Routh of San Angelo and her sister-in-law, Dorothy Sutherland of Crane. She also loved spending time worshiping with her church family at Eola Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Joseph Carpenter; her parents, James and Dreda Jacoby; and son-in-law, Jonathan Wahmann.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Amanda Carpenter Wahmann of Eola, various brothers and sisters-in-law; Several cousins, nieces, and nephews; special kiddos, Sarahina Corder of San Angelo, Sunshine Gunter of Tennessee, Amanda Brinkley of Garden City, Cassidy Serna of Gainsville; special grandson, Braxton Perkins of San Angelo; her fur grand kitty of 20 years, Baby girl Kitty Wahmann of Eola.

A special thanks goes to Shannon Medical Center and Dr. Cummings and staff, Kindred Hospice of San Angelo, Ann Crow, Sarai Cox, Stephanie Gesch and also Dr. Forlano.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Kindred Hospice of San Angelo, 116 West Concho, San Angelo, Tx 76903 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Eola Baptist Church with Pastor Toby Irwin, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mitsuko Ohkawa Semanski

Mitsuko "Miki" Semanski, 93, passed away Monday, September 26, 2022, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 3, 2022, at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church with Ft. Josh Gray, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Semanski was born August 3, 1929 in Fukuoka, Japan. Miki married Joseph "Joe" Semanski on August 21, 1959 in Fukuoka, Japan. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2015. Miki has been a resident of San Angelo since 1972. She was a homemaker. MIki was a member of the St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, and she attended at Goodfellow Taylor Chapel. Miki loved playing Bingo and shopping. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She loved her cats.

Survivors include two nieces, Vivian Colomo and husband Louie, and Sharon Desmond both of California; and special friends, Janie and Sergio Reyes, Alicia and Higinio Fuentes, and Rowena Meadows all of San Angelo. Miki was preceded in death by her only son, Jessie J. Semanski.

Jerry "Chito" Gonzales

Jerry "Chito" Gonzales, 59, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Calvary Cemetery with Dr. R. A. Evans, Jr. pastor at Lakeview Bible Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Gonzales was born September 16, 1963 in San Angelo. He worked in maintenance and loved every minute of it. He was preceded in death by his parents Adela and Ben. Jerry is survived by his wife, Lois Fuson; his five children, Jerry Gonzales Jr. with wife Amber, Tony Gonzales with wife Monique, Ernest Gonzales, Brenda Gonzales, and Terry Gonzales; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, Juan; and numerous other family members.

Rodnie Clay Johnson

Rodnie Clay Johnson, 69, of San Angelo, TX, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2022. Rodnie was born on February 5, 1953, in Odessa, TX, to Ben Henry Johnson and Jennive (Hopper) Johnson.

Rodnie married the love of his life Brenda on January 18, 1974, in Odessa, TX. He spent 41 years at the Goodyear proving grounds. He loved hunting and Barbequing. He was active in the Texas youth hunting program.

He is survived by his loving wife at 48 years, Brenda Johnson, his children, Tamara, and Casey, his grandchildren, Banee, and Ashley, his mother, Jennive Hopper, his sister, Becky Perkine and husband Jim, brother, Kenny Johnson, brother-in-law, Bobby Davis and wife Nina, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Ben Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A very special thanks to each and every person for all their love and support.

Mary Subia

Mary "Nene" Subia, 81, of Big Lake passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with the Rosary starting at 6:00 PM. Mass will be said at 10:00 AM Friday September 30, 2022 at St. Margaret of Cortana Catholic Church with Father Balachandra Nagipogu, officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Rest Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Subia was born on October 6, 1940 in Miles to Jesus M. Flores and Guadalupe O. Flores and grew up in Mertzon. She fell in love and married Santana R. Subia Sr. Mary and Santana went on to have four children, Gilbert, Eddie, Dianna and Santana Jr. Mary worked at the Reagan County Care Center for many years and later retired from there. Santana passed away on October 30, 1994.

She loved caring for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spoiled them to no end. She made the best papitas fritas, Texas trash, pineapple cherry ham, and holiday candy for her family.

In 2008, she chose to make Reagan County Care Center her home as she did not want to burden anyone. During her residence at the Care Center, she was named Queen "La Reina" of the Care Center. Mary enjoyed playing bingo, loteria, and shopping at the country store. She passed her time by nurturing the other residents. She liked sitting on the porch visiting with her friends and smoking. Her favorite desserts were carrot cake and Little Debbie Zebra Cakes. She was fond of her extended family at the Care Center.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother. She loved her friends and family dearly and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Gilbert Subia, Santana R. Subia, Jr. and Dianna Acosta; and three siblings, Elias "Caliche" Flores, Ramon Flores, and Perfecta F. Aguero.

Survivors include her son, Eddie Subia and wife Dora of Big Lake; eight siblings, Juan Flores, Sr. and wife Ramona, Delores Martinez, Vicente Flores and wife Alicia all of Mertzon, Olivia Rodriguez and husband Alex of San Angelo, Alberto "Tico" Flores, Mike Flores both of Mertzon, Jessica Flores of San Angelo, Jesus M. Flores, Jr and wife Mickey of Iraan, Lily Flores (Elias) of Mertzon; a special daughter-in-law, Kathy Dittman (Santana, Jr.) of Big Lake; 11 grandchildren, Wendy Holland and husband Randy of Big Lake, Chris Subia and wife Jessica of Big Lake, Michael Subia and wife Melissa of San Antonio, Christy Askenette and husband Roscoe of Odessa, Nick Subia of Big Lake, Sara Subia of Midland, Robie Subia and wife Alisha of San Angelo, Erica Subia of Big Lake, Michelle Vasquez of Converse, Anthony Acosta of Andrews, and Peter John Acosta of Lubbock; 27 great grandchildren; 3 great-great granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family appreciates the care given to her by the staff at the Care Center and Hospice of San Angelo.
