On November 15, 2021 God called Jerry Alan Jackson to heaven where he is now out of pain and walking with his brother Jim on legs that once more carry him.

Jerry was born March 6, 1959 in Abilene, Texas to Delmer C. and Barbra Shelton Jackson, welcomed home by his brother James Berry (Jim) Jackson in Baird, Texas. The family moved to several towns in Texas and started school in Artesia, New Mexico. Jerry attended most his school in Hobbs, N.M. before moving to Eldorado, TX his freshman year. In Eldorado High School he joined FFA where he showed champion pigs and participated in the FFA band which won district contest in Midland and went to the state contest in Fort Worth in 1977.

He attended ASU one semester while working in the family oil field service business where he was injured in a tragic accident in 1978 leaving him paralyzed, and in a wheel chair the remainder of his life. Jerry was not to be stopped from living life, he went on to live a life full of activity. After moving to San Angelo, he met another wheelchair friend Mike Hooker where they played wheelchair basketball, did scuba diving, and drag raced at Wall, Texas. The pair set up a recording studio in Jerry’s home and he and Mike recorded music together. Mike on his electric piano and Jerry on guitar. In 2015 his parents sold their home in Eldorado and moved to his home in San Angelo, where they took care of each other.
Joining him in heaven is his brother Jim, his grandparents J.W.(Jake) and Vera Mae Emmerson Shelton, Elsberry and Mary Pearl Sadler Jackson Summons, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

He is survived by his parents Delmer and Barbara Jackson; nephew James Lucas (Luke) Jackson and wife Brittany and their son Jarrett; Niece Melissa Bergmann and husband Danny, and their children Andrew and Ruth. One Aunt Louis Jackson Booth of Clyde. A friend who was always there to help when he needed it, Chuck Jones of Eldorado, and good neighbors who were always there to help. The doctors and nurses who are too numerous to mention except a Professional Therapist Tracy Romataski, who saved his life with her good care over the years. His wound care Dr. David R. Nichols has gone above and beyond the past few years with his care for Jerry. Dr. Nichols saw him and sent him to Plano for closing of wounds that had kept him in bed for two years. Once again following surgery he was under the care of Tracy Romatoski for rehabilitation.

Mitzi was born to Jewel William & Ruth Jane May on August 20, 1938, in Childress, Texas. She attended school in Levelland, Texas, and that is where she met Jerry Price, the love of her life. They married on January 8, 1955. They were blessed with three sons: Steven Wayne, Guy Hunter, and Mark Thomas. Mitzi and Jerry opened and operated Plains Sporting Goods and Ski Shop in Lamesa, Texas, from 1971 to 2000. Mitzi enjoyed sharing her love of many activities with her special people. She and Jerry enjoyed golfing and travelling together with friends. She also made the best chocolate cakes; she was the best spectator for her grands and great grands (as she affectionately called them). Nanny and Poppa loved to watch the grands participate in their sporting events and did so until Jerry passed. When Poppa passed, Nanny continued to watch and support her grands.

Mitzi (Nanny) moved to San Angelo in 2018 after the passing of her mother and made an immediate impact on a new community. She gained many new friends in the golfing community and even picked up a new hobby- mah johngg. She also enjoyed many cards games and dinners with her new friends at Village East. In addition, Mitzi was able to become a fixture with her great-granddaughter’s tennis team and became Nanny to her tennis kids. Nanny also traveled to watch her other great-grands play volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball… Nanny loved watching her great grands do anything.
Many will miss Mitzi; however, her reunion in heaven will include her parents, Jewel William & Ruth May, her husband, Jerry, her sister, Jody and her brother, Bob.

Dawn C. Wright

11/15/2021 - 21:00 , by TKing09

Dawn C. Wright was summoned to her eternal home by her loving Lord and Savior on November 12, 2021 a few weeks after reaching her 90th birthday. Dawn, the eldest child of the late Mildred and Allen Clendenning, was born on October 25, 1931, and is best remembered by family and friends for her unfailing faith and kindness and interest in education.

After graduating from DeRuyter Central School, and earning a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the State University of New York College at Cortland she taught in several school districts in the Greater Binghamton area, primarily as a kindergarten teacher. She also led a school at her church in Endwell, where she also taught Sunday School, and occasionally played the piano for services.

Dawn organized family trips, most memorably to Israel, and Washington, DC. A repository of family history, she would freely share memories of growing up enjoying the apple orchard, strawberry patch, creek, and piano playing at the family farm in Georgetown, NY where she played an integral role in the raising of her siblings.

She is survived by her brother Andy (Carol) Clendenning, sisters Sylvia Hathaway, and Rita (Allan) Youngs; also by, sons Steven Wright, and Philip (Amanda) Wright and children Amy (Brent), Amber, Cody, Cayden, Katelyn, and Kyla, and several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Wright, her sister, Ruth Gillespie, and brothers, Dr. Lee Clendenning and Daniel Clendenning.

Beverly (Elmer’s sister) and Ronald Bode recalled a hot summer day when Elmer, Dawn, and boys visited their L. I. home. Dawn was petrified, but agreed to a sailboat ride in their boat. She put aside her fears and braved the elements. Soon with sunlight and wind in her face she was free of fear. She was joyful and happy as the wind and salt spray went past her freckled cheeks. In the following years Dawn often expressed how that was a special memory for her.

Dawn lived unselfishly, and deeply loved the Lord and, her family and friends. Her essence can be expressed in the lyrics to “Something Beautiful,” written by Christian songwriting legend, Bill Gaither. Dawn’s gentle spirit was “Something Beautiful, Something Good,” and she was very special to all who were privileged to know and love her.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., Monday, November 15, 2021, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Christian Church of San Angelo. The interment will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park in Vestal N.Y. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Christian Church of San Angelo, 4064 Bryant Blvd S, San Angelo, TX 76903.
