On Sunday, September 12, 2021, Charla June Northcutt (Mame), 79, went to be at the feet of Jesus from Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, where she was surrounded by her girls.
Charla was born on August 21, 1942 in Orange County, California to Pete and Virginia Reese Warren. She was a long time resident of Colorado City and graduated from Colorado High School in 1960. After high school, she attended Sul Ross, Texas Tech, Texas Christian University, and Hardin Simmons University. She was a strong Christian woman and a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Colorado City in which she was very involved. Her career was in the Cotton Gin Industry as a Bookkeeper and Manager. She worked hard her whole life and in whatever she was doing, she was giving it her best. She was always so full of love and grit.
Charla was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Bobby Joe Northcutt, her father and mother, Pete and Virginia Warren, and her best friend, Clay Mann Smith. She is survived by her daughter Jody and Richy Womack of Colorado City, TX and daughter Becca George of San Angelo, TX. She has six grandchildren; Ramzi and Chandler Caddell of Abilene, TX; Huntyr Messick of Charlotte, NC; Talyn and Kyler Billingsley of Lubbock, TX; Kazdyn Womack of Colorado City, TX; Megan Smith and Garrison George of San Angelo, TX; and two great grandchildren, Spade Messick and Brazos Caddell of Abilene, TX. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Creager of Kermit, TX; Skip and Colleen Warren of Spring, TX and numerous nephews, nieces, and a whole lot of friends.
Growing up, Charla was a dancer, twirler and an acrobatic. She also had a passion for horses and agriculture. Whether it was exercising and training thoroughbreds for the race track, roping and barrel racing in the rodeo arena, on the ranch working cattle or helping out on the farm, she was the hardest worker and excelled at anything she did.
Charla was the most kind, giving and loving woman who lived life to the fullest and loved every person she came across. She never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything. She was the most selfless person and would give the shirt off her back to anyone. She never let you leave her house empty handed and if she had something you liked, she was going to give it to you and make you take it home.
Charla was an “all in” kind of person, in everything she did; from hard work, to various activities for her grandchildren. For her, if you're going to do something then do it right and be the best you can at it. She was hard on you but the most fun Mother and Grandmother and never missed any of her kids or grandchildren’s events. She was at every single ball game, an hour early, because she was never late to anything. She adored her kids and grands more than anything in this world and instilled her love for God in each of them and taught her family to put the Lord above all else.
Visitation will be at the Womack residence Friday evening, Sept. 24th from 6 to 8pm.
A memorial will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the Spade Cemetery at 11 o’clock a.m. All family and friends are welcome to this celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the West Texas Boys Ranch in San Angelo, TX or a charity of your choice.
Her legacy will live on in our hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with, as well as those she reached but never met.
