Nancy Jo Bussey Vincent

Nancy was born on June 9, 1937 to Joe and Diane Bussey in Jal, NM. Along with her parents, growing up she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Jal. She graduated from Jal High School in 1955. Nancy attended Western New Mexico University in Silver City, NM and graduated from there in 1959. After graduating, she moved to Dallas, TX where she worked with her maternal grandmother and great aunt, while residing at their boarding house. In 1964 Nancy’s father suddenly and unexpectedly passed away and her mother moved to Dallas, TX to live with her. After her mother remarried, Nancy moved with her mother and stepfather (Bob Vincent) to Corpus Christi, TX where they owned and operated a hotel. Although she was in her mid-30’s, around 1972 Bob Vincent legally adopted Nancy and she took his name. After a short time in Corpus Christi, Nancy moved to San Antonio, TX, where she would work and worship until 2002 (Nancy was an active member of Alamo City Church, San Antonio). That is when she moved to the Baptist Retirement Center in San Angelo, TX. Shortly after moving to the Northgate Community of the retirement center she began working at Floyd C. and Jan Petitt Insurance office. Nancy was an active Member of Immanuel Baptist Church, San Angelo.

Everyone who knew Nancy knew she was a unique person who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a student of the Bible and loved the people of God in the churches she attended. Special gratitude to those who took care of Nancy these past several years as her health began to fail.

Thank you to The Baptist Retirement Community for moving Nancy to Sagecrest Alzheimer’s Care Center where the staff provided excellent care. A SPECIAL thank you to Floyd and Jan Petitt for being such outstanding trustworthy and faithful friends who Nancy entrusted herself to when she could no longer care for herself.
