José Adalberto Landin Sanchez

08/29/62-02/08/26

Querido Padre,

Holy Sonnets: "Death, be not proud" By John Donne

"Death, be not proud, though some have called thee

Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so;

For those whom thou think'st thou dost overthrow

Die not, poor Death, nor yet canst thou kill me.

From rest and sleep, which but thy pictures be,

Much pleasure; then from thee much more must flow,

And soonest our best men with thee do go,

Rest of their bones, and soul's delivery.

Thou art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men,

And dost with poison, war, and sickness dwell,

And poppy or charms can make us sleep as well

And better than thy stroke; why swell'st thou then?

One short sleep past, we wake eternally

And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die."

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Robert Louis Kibbe IV, son Derek Alan Holdridge (Amanda), 4 grandchildren Abbygail Lynn Holdridge, Taylor Renee Holdridge, Jacob Alan Holdridge, Kash Ryan Holdridge. Betty J Teegarden

03/17/2026 - 22:10 , by TKing09
Betty Jean Garner Teegarden was born 01-14-1926 and was raised in San Angelo, the fifth of eight kids. She passed away peacefully on 03-14-2026 at the age of 100 yrs and 2 months.

Her remaining siblings are Patsy Decker (92) of Menard, (the eighth) and her baby brother Pete Garner (95) of Granbury. (the seventh)

Betty worked at the Rattlesnake Bomber Base in Peyote, Tx doing clerical work, but said that she would sneak a few rides in the B29 Bomber during pilot training whenever she could.

After raising two children and two husbands (her words) she started looking for more excitement. She rode on the back of a motorcycle to Sturgis at the age of 89. After that she went skydiving, ziplining, and she also flew an ultralight in her 90's.

Betty volunteered for 40 yrs at the VA hospital in Grand Junction. She retired at 95 and moved to Menard where she walked all over town. It was hard to find her without a smile. Decked out in her Rockies jeans, she often stopped on the bridge and look at the San Saba River. (and not on the low water side) Betty said it was prettier on the West side. This made a lot of folks way more nervous than it did her.

Betty was very independent and she lived by herself until Sept. 2025 when she moved to The Crest in San Angelo at the age of 99. She loved the staff, the food, and she loved to walk around the courtyard. Betty was an avid reader and she always had a book nearby.

When she celebrated her 100th birthday in January, The Crest staff surprised her with a visit from several San Angelo Fire Dept firefighters and a ladder truck. Betty was all smiles.

Betty is survived by many, many, friends a strong and far-reaching Garner family. We will all miss her and her antics. With love Aunt Bet, Rest In Peace.
