Naomi confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Eld. When she arrived in San Angelo, she united with New Light Missionary Baptist Church and remained a faithful member.
She was a member of Mission #2. At one time, she sang in imperial choir, also the Mission. She was treasurer of the benevolent fund. She served as Chairperson for many Church dinners.
Naomi retired from Ethicon with 20 years of service. She worked as domestic help for many years, and was later employed by Promised Wisdom Childcare.
Naomi Russel and Ira Russel were united in Holy Matrimony on May 19, 1958. No children were born into this union.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Rosa Lee Hall of Eldorado, Arkansas and Early Jean Brown of Eldorado, Arkansas. Arma Jean Nunley of Eldorado, Arkansas and brother-in-law George Nunley.
She is survived by her sister, Berthia Lee Wilkins of San Angelo, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be held at Johnson's Funeral Home, 435 West Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76903, US, on March 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A committal service will be held at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo, TX 76905, US, on March 20, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
