Amelia Hernandez Espinosa, 92, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary being prayed at 6:00 PM Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Mass will be at 10:30 AM Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Joey Faylona, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Espinosa was born May 22, 1933 in San Angelo to Pedro and Ynocenta Hernandez. Amelia has been a lifelong resident of San Angelo. She married Lionel Espinosa in April of 1960. Amelia was a boot welter for J. L. Mercer Boots for 20 plus years retiring in 1993. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church. Amelia loved sewing, embroidery, and shopping. She was always up on her fashion. Her most cherished time was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Lionel Espinosa; three daughters, Esmeralda Zamarron, Betty Espinosa and spouse Melissa Bonham, and Gloria Perez and husband Mario; her son, John Sandoval and wife Toni; 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren. Amelia was preceded in death by a daughter, Ida Sercos, a son Robert Sandoval, two brothers, Jose Hernandez, and Martin Hernandez, and a sister, Hilaria Lucio.
