Jeffrey Lynn Colvin

07/25/2025 - 09:28 , by TKing09

Jeffrey Lynn Colvin, 82, of San Angelo, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Jeffrey was born July 9, 1943, to George Washington Colvin, Jr., and Dorothy Sutton Colvin. He was born in Marshall and grew up in Bronte and Odessa, TX, and began building a life grounded in hard work and perseverance. His first job was with Bill Sears Grocery Store, where he worked his way up to manager, a testament to his work ethic and leadership. After a decade in the grocery business, he pursued his true passion: cars.

Jeffrey became a skilled and respected mechanic, spending many years working under the hood and under the sun, breathing life into engines and building hot rods that were as much art as machine. He especially loved race cars and took great pride in building high-performance engines. Friends and family knew they could always count on him for help diagnosing car trouble—or for a story about his latest project in the garage. He retired from Jim Bass Ford after many years of dedicated service.

On October 4, 1979, Jeffrey married Shirley Collins-Gayoso, and together they shared 45 years of laughter, love, and partnership. Whether they were dancing across the living room to R&B music, visiting the dragstrip, or simply enjoying each other’s company, theirs was a bond rooted in joy and unwavering support.

Jeffrey had a playful spirit and a kind heart. He adored animals and was never without a beloved pet by his side. He had a soft spot for cats, and his gentle way with animals revealed the depth of his compassion.

Above all, Jeffrey was a family man. He was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father, and a deeply cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. He delighted in family gatherings, where he could share stories, wrestle with the grandkids, and, if music was playing, show off a dance move or two. His legacy of love, humor, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Steven Dennis Colvin. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Colvin of San Angelo, TX; his children, Marsha Colvin Ostrander and her husband Wayne of Abilene, TX; Jeff Colvin, Jr. and his wife Becky of Pflugerville, TX; and Bryan Gayoso and his wife Lindsey of Ballinger, TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and lifelong friends. Special thanks to the wonderful and compassionate care provided to Jeffrey by Ballinger Healthcare & Rehab Center.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Friday, July 25, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home. A celebration of Jeffrey’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Harper Funeral Home, with a private burial to follow.

In honor of Jeffrey’s lifelong love for animals, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Concho Valley Paws.

Family and friends may share their condolences and sign the online register book at www.harper-funeralhome.com.

Patricia Joyce Watson

07/24/2025 - 09:27 , by TKing09

Patricia "Pat" Joyce (Rushing) Watson, 84, embarked on her final journey into the loving arms of Christ on Saturday, July 19, 2025.

Public viewing will from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with a family visitation from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Watson was born on September 25, 1940 in Loving, New Mexico to George Ray Rushing and Mary Elizabeth (Harris) Rushing. For much of her adult life, Pat and Louis owned and operated Watson's Drive-In Grocery store in Sterling City, Texas. Over the years, many friends and family had a part in making the store a successful small business. While Louis whistled in the meat market, Pat was burning up the adding machine behind the counter, totaling the customer's charge accounts. For many years, she was an active member at First Baptist Church in Sterling City, a devoted bridge player, and a constant presence and "official" scorekeeper" at her husband's, children's, and grandchildren's athletic events. She never met a ref or an ump she didn't mind grading. She never missed a Cowboys game, a golf tournament, or a Hallmark Christmas movie on TV.

Pat battled cancer three times in her life, along with other life-threatening ailments, and did so with grace and strength, no doubt derived from her strong abiding faith. If anyone deserves a halo for enduring all the hardship that life can throw a person's way, she deserves a closet full.

She is survived by her three sisters, Elizabeth Jenkins and husband Orvie of San Angelo, Barbara McAda of Portland, Oregon, and Glenda Jones and husband Paul of Denison, three children, Jimmy Watson and wife Annie of Weimar, Debra Ledbetter and husband Ron of San Angelo, and Jeffrey Watson and wife Kelly of Denton. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, including step-grandchildren and in-laws; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces, some of which she had a hand in raising. She is preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, Aubrey Louis Watson, and her four brothers, Darrell Rushing, Kenneth Rushing, David Rushing, and Larry Rushing.

The family would like to express gratitude to Ballinger Home Health & Hospice, Lyndale Assisted Living, special care givers Stephanie and Shelly and her own Private Nurse - her granddaughter Kayla.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Life Church, Flood Recovery, 3301 TLC Way, San Angelo, Texas 76901.

Travis William Goetz

07/24/2025 - 09:24 , by TKing09

Travis William Goetz, 43, of San Angelo, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in San Angelo.

He was born on September 2, 1981, in San Angelo, as the firstborn child of Gerri and Arthur Goetz.

Travis was preceded in death by many beloved family members who loved him deeply and now welcome him with open arms. He is survived by his parents, Gerri and Arthur Goetz; his sister, Ashley Kolfage; his cherished daughters, Madison Goetz and Bri Holcomb; and his precious grandson, Levi, who brought him so much pride and joy. Travis is also survived by a large circle of extended family-aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends-all of whom were touched by his kindness, humor, and unforgettable spirit.

Travis was a loving son, devoted father, proud grandfather, and compassionate friend. Throughout his life, Travis had a gift for building connections. Whether it was a lifelong bond or a conversation with a stranger, he had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. He was rarely without a friend nearby-his charming personality and genuine heart drew people in effortlessly. And then there was his humor. Travis's quick wit could light up any room, often leaving people laughing until they cried. He had a playful spirit and was always ready for a joke-or a prank that kept everyone on their toes. You never quite knew what Travis was up to, but you could always count on him to make you smile. He wasn't just part of the crowd-he left a mark on it. Whether it was a fishing buddy, neighbor, coworker, or someone he met in passing, Travis had a way of making an impression. His presence was magnetic, and his absence will be deeply felt. He brought joy, laughter, and love wherever he went-and those who knew him will carry the warmth of his spirit for the rest of their lives.

Travis's world shifted in the most beautiful way on July 17, 2003, when he welcomed his first daughter, Madison, into the world. From the moment he saw her, everything changed-his heart grew bigger, his smile a little wider, his purpose crystal clear. Madison became his everything-his reason to try harder, love deeper, and live more fully. Madison wasn't just his daughter; she was his whole world, the light in his life, and the reason behind so many of his smiles. He loved her deeply, endlessly, and without condition. His love for her was quiet but powerful-woven into every moment they shared, and it remains a lasting part of his legacy.

For as long as anyone can remember, Travis could be found by the riverbank. It was more than just a place to pass the time-it was his peace, his joy, his home away from home. Nature brought him comfort, but fishing was his true passion. If he ever seemed to disappear, all you had to do was look toward the water-and there he'd be, a quiet silhouette with a fishing pole in hand, waiting patiently for the next bite. Bass fishing was his favorite, and over the years, the riverbank became the backdrop for countless memories-moments of laughter, reflection, and simple joy. It's where he felt most alive. And it's how we'll always remember him.

Our family wants to gently remind everyone that no one is truly immune to the devastating grip of drug addiction. It is a relentless epidemic that has woven itself into the fabric of our society. Travis was so much more than his addiction. He was a son, a brother, a friend-a soul filled with warmth, laughter, and a heart that deeply longed for love. For years, he fought a battle most couldn't see-a battle that took him to places of deep pain and struggle. There were times the addiction overshadowed the man we knew, but it never erased him. He was always still there-trying, loving, hurting, hoping.

Addiction does not discriminate. It isolates, it breaks, and it often steals people away long before they are physically gone. If you or someone you care about is facing this struggle, please-take that brave step. Reach out. Ask for help. You are not alone. You are loved. And healing is possible-one step, one moment, one day at a time.

A Celebration of Life for Travis will be held 8:00 PM Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Celebration Bridge along the Concho River-a place that held deep meaning for him. This peaceful spot by the water is where Travis spent much of his time, finding joy, comfort, and connection in the rhythm of the river. It's only fitting that we gather there to honor his memory. This event will include a balloon release to send Travis off with love and light, just as he gave to so many in his lifetime. Everyone who knew and loved him is warmly invited to attend, and encouraged to bring a favorite story, memory, or moment shared with Travis. He would be deeply moved to see how many lives he touched-and how deeply he was loved.

"Many men go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after."
- Henry David Thoreau
