Yolanda Barrera, 63, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.
Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM with the Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Liturgy of the Word will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Father Freddie Perez, director of the Newman Center at Angelo State University, officiating, under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barrera was born September 7, 1959 in Alpine. Yolanda married Jose Barrera on February 14, 1976 in San Angelo. She was a homemaker. Yolanda loved doing crafts, spending time with family including her grandchildren, celebrating holidays with a Christmas tree for every occasion. Yolanda was a very loving and caring person, taking in anyone in need, she had a huge heart. Yolanda's puppy was her bestie, her protector. They loved each other very much, he was her strength and wouldn't leave her side.
Survivors include her husband Jose of the home; four daughters, Julie Rodriguez and husband David, Cindy Rivera, Crystal Villegas and husband Alexis, and Marisol Barrera all of San Angelo; a son, Jose Barrera, Jr. of San Angelo; two sisters, Enedina Hernandez, and Sylvia Ponce both of San Angelo; a brother, Pedro Mireles of San Angelo; 15 grandchildren; Juan Enriquez, Cheyenne Batista, David Rodriguez, Mikaela Baeza, Marivel Rivera, Gabriela Rivera, Andrea Baeza, Clarissa Rodriguez, Anastasia Villegas, Matthew Munoz, DJ Munoz, Sebastian Villegas, Logan Rodriguez, Izaiah Montez, and Auralee Villegas; six great grandchildren; Stella Fierro, Isabel Fierro, Adriano Batista, Aubreigh Rodriguez, Ayden Rodriguez, and Phoenix Rodriguez. Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother; Manuel Mireles, Jr.
The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and especially her nurses; Larnie and Stephanie, and her social worker, Jackie for their loving care.
