Zwaschka Anna Maria

ANNA (Annie) MARIA ZWASCHKA, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in her home. Annie was born August 25, 1922, in Staab, Bohemia, to Franz & Elisabeth Tausch. She came to make San Angelo her second home in March, 1957, as a refugee with her small son, Franz.
Family will receive friends at Johnson's Funeral Home 7:00-9:00 PM Thursday, October 2, 2014.
A memorial service honoring Annie's life will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel.
Annie is survived by her son, Franz, and wife, Judy, of San Angelo, along with her granddaughters, whom she dearly loved, J'Nae Zwaschka Cohorn and husband, Stephen, of Cedar Park, Texas, and Allison Zwaschka of Boston, MA. Also surviving Annie are her brother and sister-in-law, Ernst and Resi Tausch, of Tussling, Germany, and nieces, Anita Ganter and Jutta Ramirez. She was pre-deceased by her parents and brother, Franz Tausch.

Reyes Rita Gaitan

Rita Gaitan Reyes, 57, of San Angelo passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Friday, October 3, 2014 at St Joseph Catholic Church with Emilio Sosa officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Doug Vaughn, Michael Cervantez, Mackey Estrada, Logan Gaitan, Carlos Estrada, and Shannon Graves.

Rita was born on October 23, 1956 to Guillermo and Jesusita (Estrada) Gaitan in Sterling City. She was raised by her step-father; Domingo Balderaz Sr. Rita married Barney Reyes in San Angelo on September 16, 2006; she worked at the Mental Health Mental Retardation Center as a caregiver. Rita served as the nexus linking all the family together. She was the go-to person for information on everyone she loved. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and special friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Benito Torres; first husband, Miguel N. Perez.

Survivors include her husband, Barney Reyes of Fort Worth; children, Esmeralda Perez, Edward E. Perez, Amanda Garcia and her husband Jacob, and Logan Gaitan and wife Jesica all of San Angelo; sisters, Janie Houck and her husband Bob, and Irma Torres of Robert Lee; brother, Eugene Gaitan of San Angelo; grandchildren, Jaime, Jesiah, Abel Ramirez and Jayden Gaitan, Maya Garcia, Selena and Cynthia Vargas, and Sierra Hernandez.

Boyd Howell (Hal) L.

Howell (Hal) L. Boyd, 84, of San Angelo, after a brief illness, went to join his Heavenly family on September 26, 2014 in San Angelo, TX.

He was born on June 9, 1930 to Elmer and Iris (Howell) Boyd in Lamesa, TX. On May 16, 1951 he married Joy Culp in Lamesa. They moved to Big Spring where Hal worked as the City Manager for 11 years. Following retirement, they moved to San Angelo.

Hal enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard at the age of seventeen as a private, and after 40 years of service retired at the rank of Colonel. Later, he was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General (Brevet), by the governor of the State of Texas.

He was a Life Member of the National Guard Association of Texas, member of Kiwanis and Rotary, a 32nd degree Mason, and served as Chairman of the Texas National Guard Armory Board for 11 years.

Hal is survived by wife; Joy, of 63 years; son, Mike Boyd and wife, Treva of Christoval, TX; two grandsons, Michael Keesey Boyd MD and wife, Richele, CPT Jordan Boyd and wife, Juliana; four great-grandsons; Tryston, Ethan, Jameson, and Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Elmer and Iris Boyd.

Visitation will be held 5:00pm to 7:00pm Monday September 29, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Lamesa Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the West Texas Boys Ranch or your favorite charity.

Payne Bobby D.

Bobby Darrell Payne, Sr., 85, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014.
He was born in Floydada, Texas, on Nov. 14, 1928, to Orval and Mabel Payne. Bob graduated from a military school in San Antonio, TX, in 1945 and attended Texas Tech University.
Bob married Gail Iness Coats on February 6, 1948. He worked for GTE and its predecessor, Southwestern Associated Telephone Company, for 41 years retiring as a Network Project Coordinator in Outside Plant Engineering in San Angelo, Texas. He was a member of the Brownfield and San Angelo Jaycees, San Angelo Bass Club, and Angelo RC. His hobbies were fishing, reading, building furniture, and building and flying model airplanes.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Mabel Payne.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Iness Payne of San Angelo; son Bobby D. Payne, Jr. and wife, Frederikka of Moss Beach, California; son Michael F. Payne and wife, Carol of Frisco, Texas; daughter Marianne White and husband, Michael of San Angelo; and a sister Barbra Venhuizen of Bumpass, Virginia. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Rachel Payne of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Christopher White of San Angelo.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at St. Luke United Methodist Church in San Angelo, Texas, with Pastor Bill Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials in Bob's honor may be sent to Hospice of San Angelo, 36 E. Twohig Ave., Suite 1100, San Angelo, TX 76903; or St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2781 W. Avenue N, San Angelo, TX 76901.
