Harvey “Jake” Butler, 88, of Christoval, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home all day Wednesday, February 18, 2015 with family present from 6-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Old Christoval Cemetery. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea. His mechanical technology made him very important to his troop as he built them a shower and they were the only camp who had one. He also worked with the civilians in Korea and helped them learn to work their oxen to take care of their crops.
Upon returning from service he made Christoval his home. He was a truck farmer and the owner of Rite Way Food Mart there in Christoval.
Jake was a man with a huge heart. He knew no limits to giving and would give the shirt off of his back to a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all those whose life he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents and step dad, first wife Dorothy and step son, Derek Totedo.
He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Sandra; sons, Kenneth and wife Cassandra, Terry and wife Debbie, Keith and wife Rose; daughter, Kathleen and husband Allen; step daughter, Nicole and husband Resey; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many extended family members and friends.
