Jasso Jr. Michael Padron

Michael Padron Jasso, 60, of San Angelo, went to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at his residence surrounded by family. Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Emelio Sosa officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Michael was born July 3, 1954, in San Angelo, Texas. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He retired from San Angelo Independent School District in May 2014, after 23 years of employment. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel P. and Jesusita C. Jasso. Survivors include his wife, Terri Jasso of San Angelo; his children, Michael J. Jasso III and wife Michel and David S. Jasso, also of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Ryan Jasso, David Z. Jasso, Jacob Jasso, Makayla Jasso and Jeremiah Jasso; seven sisters and one brother; Juanita Runion and husband Dan of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Dora Chappa, Letty Bishop and the late Roy Bishop, Jerry Jasso and wife Oralia, Sandy Carrasco and the late Danny Carrasco, Brenda Jasso, Mercy Jasso and Debbie Jasso, all of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Dr. Huchton and his staff and Hospice of San Angelo. God saw you getting tired and a cure could not be So he put His arms around you And whispered, "Come with me." With tearful eyes we watched You suffer and we saw you fade away, Although we not ask you to stay A golden heart stopped beating, Hardworking hands laid to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. Frank Merson Francis Edward

Francis Edward (Frank) Merson died July 3, 2014. He was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Nola Litton Merson and James Edward Merson. He graduated from high school in Delphi, Indiana and attended Purdue University, where he met his wife, Mary Merson. They had two daughters, Anne Merson Stevens and Julie Merson Martinez. Retiring from the US Air Force as a MSGT after 20 years of service, he worked as a military contractor, then a handyman. He was his mother's caretaker and loved her very much. Another love was animals and he regularly rescued them. One of his greatest joys in life were his furry friends. The family wishes to thank Hospice of San Angelo for all of their help and loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Concho Valley PAWS or Hospice of San Angelo. He is survived by his mother, Nola Merson; wife Mary Merson; Anne and Walter Stevens; Julie and Aramis Martinez; seven grandsons; one great-granddaughter; brother John Merson of San Antonio; and sister Linda Perkins of Olympia, Washington. Valencia Cornelio

Cornelio Valencia, 73, of Mertzon, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Big Lake, TX. 
Mr. Valencia was born June 23, 1941 in Mertzon, TX. He is preceded in death by his son, Fabian Valencia and his grandson, Daniel Valencia. 
Rosary will be Friday, June 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/Knickerbocker. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Mertzon. Interment will follow in Mertzon Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/ Knickerbocker. 
Survivors include two sons, Joe Valencia and Cornelio Valencia Jr. both of San Antonio; three daughters, Sylvia de la Cruz and husband Juan of Big Lake, Rose Pena and husband Lloyd of San Angelo and Sally Valencia of Mertzon; three brothers, Sebastian Valencia and Albert Valencia, both of Mertzon and Pablo Valencia of Dallas and three sisters, Ninfa Holtz of San Angelo, Beatriz Torres of Big Lake and Tina Gonzales of Mertzon. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Manuela Valencia of San Antonio. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 
The family would like to express a special thanks to the RCCC staff, especially Vicky, the Hospice nurse, and all the special angels that were there by his side
