Hortencia Montalvo, 94, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014. She was born May 26, 1920, in Zaragoza, Coahuila, Mexico, to Martiniano Villarreal and Tomasa Rios de Villarreal.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Rosa Fernandez, and 3 granddaughters, Belia Vasquez (husband Osvaldo), Crystal Fernandez, and Ashlee Fernandez.
A Holy Rosary will be recited Friday, December 12, at 7:00 P.M. by Deacon Abel Fernandez and a Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 13, at 11:00 A.M. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North, 1002 N. Oakes St., San Angelo, Texas, 76903, (325) 658-5995.

Warren Allan Cornelius

Warren Allan Cornelius passed away on December 6, 2014 at a local nursing home with his wife at his side. Allan was born on February 2, 1928 and was 86 years old.

Allan farmed in the Miles, Texas area for many years and also served on the local school board. In later years, Allan started a locksmith business in San Angelo, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Leona Cornelius, who also farmed at Miles.

Allan attended school at the Klattenhoff School. He married Jewel Cornelius (nee McKee) on August 5, 1949 at the Methodist Parsonage in Miles. Allan was a member of the College
Hills Baptist Church in San Angelo.

Allan is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jewel Cornelius, son, Wayne Cornelius of Seminole, Texas, daughter, Rita Hayes of Carrollton, Texas, grandson Wes Hayes and wife April and two granddaughters of Boerne, Texas, a sister, Erlene Springer of San Angelo, Texas and a half -brother Lynn Cornelius and his wife Karen of Deer Park, Texas.

Funeral arrangement made by Johnson's Funeral Home in San Angelo. A graveside service will be held at Miles Cemetery on Tuesday, December 9th at 2 pm.

Laurene Goetz, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away Friday December 5, 2014. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday December 9, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at Johnson's Funeral Home. The Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Randall Wehmeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Laurene was born September 13, 1927 to Isabella and Willie Fischer. She married Arthur W. Goetz December 1, 1945 in Ballinger, Texas. Laurene was a loving homemaker until her husband passed away in 1982. Laurene started working for Kmart and remained a faithful employee throughout Kmart's transitions until her retirement in January 1993. Laurene was preceded in death by her parents, Isabella and Willie Fischer, her husband Arthur W. Goetz; brothers, Roy and Alton Fischer; sisters, Venita Bagwell, Magdalene "Mickey" Harris and Agnes Parker. She leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Marylyn Smith and her husband David Smith; sons Danny Goetz, Arthur "Art" Goetz and his wife Gerri, Kerry Goetz and his wife Gail, all of San Angelo, Texas and Timothy "Tim" Goetz and his wife Dalana of Simithville, Texas; sisters, Mary Frances Williams and her husband Garland of Snyder, Texas, Lucille Romfeld and her husband Dennis of Ballinger, Texas, Willia Mae Briley and her husband W.C. of San Angelo; brother Willie "Buddy" Fischer of San Angelo; grandchildren, Paul Tonne Jr. and his wife Allison, Melissa Durst, Todd Smith and his wife Misty, Chad Goetz, Travis Goetz all of San Angelo and Ashley Kolfage and her husband Brian of Tucson, Arizona, Justin Goetz of Bastrop, Correy Goetz of Los Angeles, California, Whitney Berber and her husband Hardy of San Angelo; eleven great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Gibbs Robert Bobby

Robert Wayne “Bobby” Gibbs, 66, passed away December 6, 2014.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 10th, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Donald Moon will preside over the service. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home. Visitation will be held directly after the service at the home of Joy and Michael Thomas.

Bobby was born Jan. 20, 1948 in San Angelo, Texas to Bobby and Valda
Gibbs. Bobby, was a lifelong resident of San Angelo and a Proud Texan.
Bobby, graduated from Lake View High School. After graduation Bobby join the US Navy and was honorably discharged. Bobby, considered himself a simple man. He was a carpenter by trade and his passion for a “job well done” lasted up until a few weeks ago. His electric blue eyes lit up at the sight of Erica and Conlie. He was a man of few words and spoke softly. Bobby, had his struggles as many of us do. Knowing that the past few years of Bobby’s life had been free of those issues gives great comfort to those who loved him and hope to those he encountered along his journey. We will hold him in our hearts forever and feel blessed by all of the wonderful memories we have of him.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father and mother, Bobby and Valda Gibbs, uncle Jimmy Gibbs, aunt Jo Alice Thompson, cousin Tom Gibbs and cousin Mona Brown.

Bobby was so proud of his daughter Erica Gibbs Carter and his granddaughter Conlie Ann Carter. They both were indeed the apples of his eye. The time spent with them both was so precious to him.

Bobby is survived by his daughter Erica Gibbs Carter and husband Shaun, granddaughter Conlie Ann Carter of San Angelo, Partner of eleven years Bonnie Hasty and family, sister, Joy Thomas and husband Michael, sister Marsha Hamlin of San Angelo, brother Glen “Corky” Gibbs and wife Amy of Wimberley, niece Joell Baker and husband Eric Baker, of San Angelo, niece Dona Cooter and husband Michael, of Fate, nephew Josh Hamlin of San Angelo. Great nieces, Elise Baker, Marisa Cooter, great nephews Weston Walcott, Josh and Alex Cooter, Hasty Family, Wendy and husband Jason Morrison and children Chase and Colton of San Angelo, Jim Tinney of San Angelo, and a number of cousins he considered friends.

Honorary Pallbearers: Randy Crooks, Mike Neeley, Shaun Carter, Jim Tinney, Josh Hamlin, Gene Thompson (family mentor to Bobby).

Our family wishes to thank Gentiva Hospice of San Angelo for the professional care that they gave to Bobby these past few weeks.
We wish to acknowledge the Northside nursing staff of Meadow Creek whose compassion and care helped Bobby and his family make this difficult
Journey.

Pitts John Calvin

John Calvin Pitts was born June 14, 1934, in Mount Vernon, Texas, to A.E. Pitts, Sr. and Molie Cowser Pitts. He passed away peacefully on Friday December 5, 2014, at the age of 80 years. He was raised in a large family, embraced rural life and attended school in Blossom, Texas. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served in Okinawa, Japan. After an honorable discharge, he met the love of his life, Patricia Ann Powers. They were married May 29, 1958, and enjoyed nearly 49 years of marriage until her death in April, 2007. To this union, they were blessed with two daughters, Judy and Jill. Words that accurately describe John are committed and faithful. He was committed to his family, friends and career and faithful to the churches in which he served, First Presbyterian Church of Eldorado, St. Paul Presbyterian Church, San Angelo and First Presbyterian Church, San Angelo. John was a man of strong faith in our Lord and took seriously the task of raising his family in the church. He passed along priceless characteristics and traits to his family as they reaped the benefits of learning by example and being raised in a Christian home where strong family values were taught. Though his guidance and devotion will be deeply missed by those who truly knew him, his spirit lives on in the hearts and memories of the many people whose lives he touched. Affectionately known as "Papa" to his granddaughters and great-grandchildren, John valued memories made with family, supporting their many activities and assuring them of his unconditional love.John possessed a strong work ethic and retired from West Texas Utilities Company after 35 years of employment, holding positions of lineman, serviceman and local manager in San Angelo and Eldorado, Texas. John's hobbies included golfing, fishing and hunting as well as traveling with Pat. Known for his humor and smile, he enjoyed years of close friendships with many. Even though a large man most of his life, he truly had a heart of gold.John is survived by his daughters, Judy and husband, Franz Zwaschka, of San Angelo, Texas, and Jill and husband, John Gulizia, of Denver, Colorado. Papa adored his three granddaughters, J'Nae Zwaschka Cohorn and husband, Stephen, of Cedar Park, Texas, Allison Zwaschka of Boston, Massachusetts, and Bryttani Gentry of Byers, Colorado. He was also proud of his great-granddaughter, Alexis, and great-grandson, William, both of Colorado.Additionally, he is survived by his brothers, Bob Pitts, of Greeley, Colorado, and Charles Pitts of Atlanta, Texas, sisters, Argaree Lauter of Littleton, Colorado, Veda Watkins of Atlanta, Texas, Joan Clark of Lakewood, Colorado and Linda Sue Plum of Queen City, Texas, sisters-in-law, Betty Pitts of Lubbock, Texas and Juanita Pitts of Linden, Texas, and brother-in-law, Robert Buttery, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with their respective families.John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia Pitts, and siblings, Marie Vick, A.E. Pitts, Jr., Bill Pitts and Wayne Pitts and sister-in-law, Nancy Buttery.Visitation with family present is scheduled for Monday, December 8, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson's Funeral Home. A service at his graveside will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 32 North Irving, San Angelo, Texas.The family requests memorials be made to Children's Miracle Network, 120 East Harris, San Angelo, Texas 76903, House of Hope Hospice, 902 North Main, San Angelo, Texas 76903 or the charity of the donor's choice .

Fox Mary Elizabeth

Mary Elizabeth Stewart Fox "Nana", age 94, passed away Tuesday December 2nd, 2014. She was born November 13th, 1920 in Denison, Texas, to Cooper B. Stewart and Mattie Lanier Stewart. She moved to San Angelo while a toddler where she lived continuously, except for an 18 month period while Dub was serving in the US Navy during World War II.

She Loved the Lord and worked tirelessly throughout her life as a volunteer at Park Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Carl "Dub" Fox; brothers, Jim Stewart, Joe Stewart, Walter Stewart and Alex Stewart; her sister, Vestal Stewart Thompson; and a Great Granddaughter, Lori Del Fox.

She is survived by one brother, Aubrey Stewart; a daughter, Nancy Fox Mobley and her husband Tom; a son, Wayne C. Fox and his wife Patsy; Grandchildren, Billy Carl Wimberley, John Wayne Wimberley, James Bryan Wimberley and wife Marla, Amanda K. Fox, William Cory Fox and wife Lindsay; Great-Grandchildren; Ryan Wimberley and wife Megan, Tyler Wimberley, Ella Mitchell Fox, William Cory Fox Jr. and Annie Blake Fox; Great-Great-Grandchildren; Jordan Wimberley and Jackson Wimberley and numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished.

The family extends their gratitude to all of her caregivers at The Allison House.

Following a private interment at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, a Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday December 6th, 2014 at the Heights Baptist Church, 4512 Sherwood Way, San Angelo, Texas with the Reverend James Miller officiating.
