Ramelle Clifton Parsons

Ramelle Clifton Parsons was born August 18, 1922 in Mitchell County to Edwin and Susan Clifton and passed away July 16, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. 

A visitation will be held with her family on Tuesday July 19, 2016 from 6:00pm until 7:30pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Southland Baptist Church in San Angelo, TX directly followed by a burial service at the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under thedirection of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Pastor Taylor Sandlin of Southland Baptist Church, where Ramelle had been an active member for many years, will officiate the funeral and graveside services. 

Ramelle graduated from Westbrook High School, received her Bachelors in Science from McMurry University followed by a Masters degree from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. She was married to Herman Parsons who has preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and one grandson, Josh Love. 

Ramelle and her husband moved to San Angelo in July, 1989 after retiring from a career in teaching. She loved and cherished every day as a teacher and it was a joy for her to work with the children at the elementary school. She absolutely loved the kids, the faculty, and the whole school teaching experience. Ramelle devoted herself to the profession of teaching in both Colorado City and Snyder before retiring after a career of 35 years. 

She showed kindness to others and never hesitated to help others in need. She was very proud of her volunteer work at Angelo Community Hospital and House of Faith for years. She will be remembered for her strong will, her sharp wit, and her sense of humor, which brought smiles to the faces of her friends and family. 

Ramelle’s love for her family was without end. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had great joy in having them all in her life. 

Survivors include her daughter, Melanie Love and six grand children; Kristina Bridges and husband Dywane, Josh Kornegay and wife Sharleen, Cassidy Zeiters and husband Camden, Tenea Love, Chris Love, and Michael Love. Ramelle also has three very special grandchildren, Ephraim Kornegay, Eisley Kornegay, and Braxton Zeiters and has a sister-in-law, Ruth Clifton of Abilene, Texas and seven nieces and nephews. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be all the members of her Sunday School class, The “Joy” class of Southland Baptist Church. 

Memorials may be made to Southland Baptist Building Fund, House of Faith, or any of your favorite charities.

Ramelle’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Royal Estates, Robert Brewer, and Peggy Hunt of Kindred Hospice Care for the unconditional compassion and loving care provided over these last few months.

Guadalupe Isabel Biera

Guadalupe “Lupe” I. Biera, 63, of San Angelo, passed away on July 12, 2016 at his residence. 

Lupe was born on June 28, 1953 to Raul and Carolina (Contreras) Biera in San Angelo. Lupe worked as a land surveyor in the petroleum industry. He developed a lifelong love of music at an early age and eventually joined a band where he played the drums. One of his favorite things to do was go night fishing with friends and enjoying just being outdoors. Lupe was very devoted to his family and with a strong sense of how to raise a close family, he enjoyed spending time with his family. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolina Biera and a daughter, Beatrice Biera.

Lupe is survived by two daughters, Bianca Duran of Odessa; Sylina Sanchez of San Angelo; son, Armando Ramirez of San Angelo; father, Raul Biera of San Angelo; two sisters, Adela Kin of Garland, Bertha Balcom of San Angelo; brother, Joe Biera of San Angelo; three granddaughters, Belinda Duran of Odessa, Brianna Duran of San Angelo, Micayla Duran of Odessa and grandson, Chon Moya of San Angelo along with 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Rosary service will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel led by Dorothy Ochoa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Brentwood Family Fellowship with Pastor Buddy Helms, officiating under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Our loving mother, daughter, wife, sister and grandmother Jeanette Soto Holguin of Fort Worth, TX went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her father Henry G. Soto and a granddaughter Cierra Maria Holguin. Survivors include her daughter Jessica Holguin (Armando Moncada) of Ft. Worth, TX, a son Jeremy (Machelle) Holguin of Douglasville, GA; her mother Emma Soto; her spouse Eugene Martinez; 3 granddaughters Ella Moncada, Jocelynne and Lillei-Ana; siblings Diana Ramirez of Ft. Worth, Henry Soto, Bernice Cardenas, Debbie Soto, Opie Soto (Yvonne) of Little Elm, Frances Alcocer, Orlando Soto, John (Andrea) Soto of Dallas; many nieces and nephews; close friends/co-workers from Ft. Worth, TX: Martha, Blanca, Martin, Stacy and Debbie.

Pallbearers will be Armando Moncada, Orlando Carrillo, Abraham Cardenas, Bryan Alcocer, Matthew Soto, Abraham Rodriguez, and Joey Garcia. 

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Joan Wilma Wesson

Joan Wilma Wesson, 81, of San Angelo, passed away on Monday July 11, 2016 at a local care center. 

She was born on October 13, 1934 to Raymond and Frances (Bauer) Wintz in Danbury, Iowa. On September 2, 1950 she married Dell Ray Wesson in Reno, NV. She loved to spend time with her family. 


She was preceded in death by husband, Dell Ray, parents; daughter, Susan Louise Hawley, grandsons, Robert Wesson, Jr. and Billie Stevens, brother, Irving Wintz, sisters, Kathy Golf, Geneva Moore and Ione Fritz.


Joan is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Keven) Allen of Gilroy, CA, son, Robert (Irma) Wesson of San Angelo, grandson, Christopher Allen of Queen Creek, AZ, granddaughter, Traci Allen of Costa Mesa, CA, grandson, Aaron Hale of Livingston, NJ, granddaughters, Samantha Wesson, Cassandra Wesson, grandsons, Raymond Wesson, Jesus Lopez all of San Angelo, granddaughter, Brenda Custer of El Paso, great-granddaughters, Madilyn Allen of Queen Creek, AZ, Anaya Hale of Livingston, NJ, great-grandsons, Noah Hale, Aden Hale both of Livingston, NJ, great-grandsons, Liam Walstad, Dylan Piegzik both of Queen Creek, AZ, great-granddaughter, Alexis Lopez of San Angelo, great-granddaughter, Bianca Custer, great-grandson, Braylon Custer both of El Paso, and numerous nieces and nephews.


Visitation will be held 10am to 8pm on Wednesday July 13, 2016 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held on 2:00pm Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith, pastor of New Life Ministries, officiating.

Ruby Hardin

Ruby J. Hardin, 63, of San Angelo, passed away July 12, 2016. She was born in San Angelo, TX on October 7, 1952. Ruby graduated from Central High School. She worked for in Security for Raytheon. Ruby had a passion for crafts. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Stanley Hall, Willie Mae Haynes, Larry Hardin, Barry Hardin, and Elizabeth Hardin. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Leroy Gallas

Leroy Gallas, 92 went to be with his Lord on July 10, 2016. He was born on March 9, 1924 to E.F. and Louise Gallas of Miles, TX. Leroy was the second oldest of 8 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters; Clinton Gallas, Melvin Gallas, Ellen Elkins, Edna Marie Rice, and Nelda Riddle. His brothers and sisters will be remembered as a family that truly cared and loved for each other. Their love grew out of the fact that they grew up during the depression and learned the only thing they had to rely on was each other. Leroy was a Korean War veteran, serving in Okinawa, Japan. After the war he went back to school and received his GED and also took classes at the old San Angelo College. He went to work at the Clinic Hospital in the billing department, staying there until retirement, then known as Angelo Community Hospital. On July 3, 1952 Leroy married Helen Huss. They had one daughter, Karen in 1959. Helen preceded him in death on February 15, 2011. He is survived by daughter Karen and husband Richard Henshaw of San Angelo; sisters, Lenora Reid of Lawn, TX and Amy Dickson of San Angelo; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Meals for the Elderly.

Marion Bruce Van Cleave

Marion Bruce Van Cleave, 88, was called home to heaven on July 10, 2016 in San Angelo. Bruce was born November 26, 1927 in St. Joseph, Missouri. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He married June Ella Kaye on June 7, 1947 in El Paso, Texas. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife June, one sister, Margaret “Sissy” Van Cleave Stendebach and one brother, Basil Van Cleave. He is survived by his children, Michael Bruce Van Cleave and his wife Sheryl, Marcia Christine McClendon and her husband Paul, Marilyn Jo McKinney and her husband Robert; her Grandchildren, Stefanie Eigen and her husband Sam, Amanda Clark and her husband Jeremy, Evan McClendon, Hanson McKinney, Colton McKinney and Jyl Venner; and one great Grandson, Benjamin Noah Clark. Bruce graduated from Benton High School in St. Joseph, MO. He worked for The El Paso Natural Gas company for 35 years and retired at the age of 55. Bruce was a 33-degree Mason and a member and past Secretary of the Ysleta Lodge 1333 which is now combined with Lodge 130 in downtown El Paso for many years. He became the district Deputy over all lodges in the El Paso area, making two visits per lodge for 1 year. He was a member of Square Dancer’s Club of El Paso and the Airstream Trailer Club. Bruce and June moved to San Angelo in 1989 where he was an active member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. He was also a World Bible School Grader, Wood Turner’s Club member, a volunteer for Meals for The Elderly and Rust Street Ministries, an avid Golfer and an amazing master wood worker. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The Funeral Service will be 10:30 A.M., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Tommy King Officiating. The Burial will take place at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on Monday July 18, 2016 in El Paso, Texas.

Bernardino G. Gonzales, 91, of San Angelo was a loyal friend of Jehovah and expired on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in San Angelo. A Memorial service will be held at a later time in New Mexico. He is survived by his children, Manuel E. Gonzales and his wife Yolanda, of San Angelo, Nathan D. Gonzales, of Bedford, TX., Bernie L. Gonzales, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Tommie Johnsons, of Flagstaff, AZ. His Brother, Donaciano Gonzales, of Los Lunas, N.M; and His Sisters, Alice Sanchez, of Belen, N.M., Maria De La Luz Bradshaw, of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Anita Chavez, of Los Lunas, N.M.
