Jack L. Meyer

Jack L. Meyer, 85, was born on September 12, 1930 in Houston, Texas and passed away on July 25, 2016 in San Angelo, Texas. He was the second son of Alma Agnes Meyer (nee Riser) and John Henry Meyer. After graduating from Milby High School in Houston, he attended the University of Texas at Austin before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. One of the proudest times of his life was being a part of the team that developed the Terrier missile, the first surface-to-air missile to successfully shoot down an airplane. While in the Marines, Jack met and married Elizabeth Anne (Dixie) Rothwell of England. They married July 17, 1951 and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. At the end of his enlistment, he returned to the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He spent his career building large and high-rise buildings that changed the skyline of virtually every major city throughout the United States. His most recognizable projects in Texas include the Astrodome, DFW Airport and Reunion Tower in Dallas. Upon retirement, Jack and Dixie moved to San Diego where they spent 23 wonderful years. They just recently returned to Texas to be with family. Jack is survived by his wife Dixie; son Robert; daughter-in-law Louellen; daughter Marsi; grandchildren Vic and Vivian Meyer; grandchildren Chelsi Haile and Payton Beall; great-grandson Ledger Telthorst, and his beloved dachshunds Sam and Cody. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 29 at 4:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in San Angelo, Texas with Rev. Joel Moore officiating. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Johnson's Funeral Home. Leonard Ray Boyd

Leonard Ray Boyd, 87, known to many as "Coach Boyd", passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 in San Angelo. He was born November 28, 1928 in Loving, Texas. Leonard was a 1947 graduate of Graham High School in Graham, Texas. He attended Ranger Junior College and graduated in 1952 from Daniel Baker College in Brownwood, Texas. Leonard married Mary Jo Thompson almost 64 years ago, on August 6, 1952 in Graham, Texas. He coached for 41 years in various school districts including: Newcastle , Brady, Lakeview High School, Fort Stockton, Seminole, and Midland, before retiring in 1993. Leonard enjoyed spending time in his garden and working in his yard. His favorite pastime was sitting on his porch and visiting about football with anyone who would listen, which always brightened his day. Leonard was a man of great influence on those around him and he will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Dewitt Boyd and Annie Ermie Queen Boyd Brown; and sister, Mildred De Long.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary Jo Boyd; a son, Marvin Boyd and his wife, Mary Ann; a daughter, Carol Ann Kelley and her husband, WIlliam; four grandchildren, Jennifer Barnes and her husband, Troy, Chad Kelley, Melissa Boyd, and Matthew Boyd; six great-grandchildren, Josey Barnes, Donie Barnes, Macee Barnes, Trista Kelley, Alyssa Kelley, and Caleb Kelley; one great great-granddaughter, Camdon Wasson; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2PM today at Johnson's Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Havlik. Interment will follow in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Dan Gandy, Bill Jordan, Gilbert Duran, Mike Sanders, Dan Irons, and Billy Lloyd serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Chad Kelley, Josey Barnes, Matthew Boyd, and Caleb Kelley. The family requests memorials be made to the Midland Retired Teachers Association and Village East Retirement Community in San Angelo.

Margie Moore

Margie Moore, 89, of Colorado City, TX passed away Friday, July 22, 2016. She was born March 1, 1927 to Joe and Bobbie Perkin in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a very talented seamstress, who also enjoyed doing various crafts and gardening. Margie's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She married the love of her life Sam M. Moore on June 1, 1946 in San Angelo, TX; he preceded her in death on February 12, 2008. Margie was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, David Burnett; and brother, Jack Perkin. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Leslie Moore Geiger and husband Dale of Colorado City, TX and Sherry Moore Burnett-Bruce and husband Andy of Lakeland, FL; granddaughters, Lauren Perkins Munoz and husband Robert of Loraine, TX, Carrie Perkins Erwin and husband John of Lubbock, TX, Amy Burnett Gaughf and husband Grant of Tallahassee, FL, and Allison Burnett Venturo and husband Julio of Jacksonville, FL; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo Jones and husband Bill of Mesquite, TX; brother, Rick Perkin and wife Patty of Colorado City, TX, and numerous special nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy "Dot" Hubbard

Dorothy Helen Hubbard was born in Winters, Texas to Benjamin and Frances Thetford on November 19, 1930. On July 12, 2016, she left this earthly experience to be with Jesus and reunited with loved ones whom had gone before; her parents, a brother, Bennie Ray Thetford, a son-in-law, Ramsay J. Jennings, and many other family members and special friends who were there to celebrate her arrival. She was preceded in death by her first husband David B. Engle, father of her only child Karen; and her second husband, Jack M. Hubbard who also preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Karen J. Engle Jennings; granddaughter, Abby M. Jennings (Kerry Batchelor); great grandchildren, Julie Williams, Desiree (Kenneth) Henley, David Jacob Moore; great-great grandchildren, Karson Lee and Walker Lee Henley; and siblings; Frances Connel of Blackwell, Margaret Larson of Haltom City, Wanda (Bill) Spurgin of Abilene, Nan (Gerald) Howard of Abilene, Robert (Eva) Thetford of Boyd, Bailey (Ramona) Thetford of Seale, Al., Evelyn (Phil) Townsend Seymore of Abilene, and Tricia (Jimmy) Cooper of Hamlin. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Johnson's Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery in Winters. Gordon Calvin Dalton

Gordon Calvin Dalton, 96, of San Angelo, went to join his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 16, 2016. He was born October 13, 1919, in Millersview, Texas, to Homer and Sallie Gertrude Hurt Dalton. Gordon married Florence "Baby" Healy on June 23, 1946, in San Angelo, Texas, and they celebrated their 69th Anniversary several weeks before she passed away on July 19, 2015. They were members of First Presbyterian Church, where they both enjoyed the love of their Church family for many years.
Gordon enlisted in the United States Army on August 6, 1940 (Ft. Crockett, Texas) and was stationed in the Panama Canal for two years during WWII, proudly serving his country until October 27, 1945. He returned to San Angelo and married the love of his life, Florence "Baby" Healy. He was employed at Gandy's Creamery for 37 years, and after he retired he began his second career as Ranch Foreman for Dr. Roy Glass and Robert "Bodey" Langford. He truly enjoyed the great outdoors, working the ranch, and time spent with the Glass family. 
Gordon was a founding member of over 50 years at the American Legion, Post 32, where he served as Commander in 1966, 1967, and 1968. Gordon, along with fellow American Legion brethren, were instrumental in developing the Veterans section of Belvedere Cemetery for the interment of veterans needing a final resting place. He was also a member of the Knights of the Round Table and the Lions Club. Gordon spent countless hours with Baby at both the West Texas Boys' Ranch and Mended Hearts. 
Gordon and Baby loved to dance and were members of La Paloma Dance Club. They also enjoyed square dancing, hunting, and participating in the Rattlesnake Round-Up for many years. His many hobbies included collecting spurs, arrowheads, and studying the history of Texas. His most enjoyable pastime in recent years has been attending "Saturday Morning Breakfast Club" gatherings with his dearest friends. Gordon was blessed with many special friends he cherished at the Rio Concho Terrace. He was preceded in death by his wife, Baby; parents; four brothers and one sister. 
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Nancy Woodard, Denton, TX; brothers-in-law, Charles Dennis, San Angelo, and Jessie Woodard, Sweeny, TX; as well as generations of nieces and nephews, whom he and Baby loved dearly. 
A time of visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Johnson's Funeral Home, San Angelo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 22, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church, San Angelo with Rev. Bill Proctor officiating. Military honors will follow in the Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the giver's charity of choice. 
Pallbearers are Robert Allison, Gilbert Colmenero, Jerry Cornelius, Kelly Eaves, Rex Enochs, and Robert "Bodey" Langford. Honorary Pallbearers are Charles Dalton and all members of the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club.

Ryan Andrew Gibson, 24, of San Angelo, TX, passed away July 12, 2016. He was born on June 22, 1992, in San Angelo, TX. He is survived by his mother Teena Weiss and sister Kaycee Gibson and his step-father Scott Weiss of San Angelo, TX, step-brother Forrest Weiss, step-sister Sydney Weiss of Austin, TX. Grandparents; Alton and Mary Smith of San Angelo, Paul and Kathy Hash of San Angelo, Calvin and Donna Weiss of Corpus Christi, and Marty and Debbie Martinez of Colorado, and by many other family members and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by his father Kirt Gibson and grandfather Richard Gibson, both of San Angelo, TX. For all who knew Ryan knew he was kind, generous, and had a huge heart. He always had a smile on his face and a love for life. He had a unique soul and a curiosity for the unusual. There will be a viewing Monday, July, 18, 2016 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 5-7 PM. Services will be held on July 19th at 10 AM at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church on College Hills. A graveside service will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services will be presided by Pastor Tamara Strehli. Pallbearers will be Scott and Forest Weiss, Randy Hamm, Pat Gibson, Bobby Lackey, and Spencer Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Lamm, Isaac Perez, and Jake King. "I am with you always" Matthew 28:20

Mary T (Keegan) Moore of San Angelo, TX formerly of Rantoul, IL passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 in San Angelo, TX.
She was born on Dec 29, 1926 in War, WV to Walter James Keegan and Elva Jane Jones. 
After her father was killed in a car accident in 1929, she was raised by Sidney W. 
Struck and Mary E. Early of Corbin, KY. She married Jessie N. Moore of Corbin, KY on Aug 27, 1950. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Ricky and daughter Lynette, sister Helen Miller, and brother Walter J. Keegan Jr. 

She is survived by a son David Moore and wife Ella of Whitehouse, TX, A daughter Betsy Ryan and husband Casey of San Angelo, TX. 4 Grandsons, Jason Moore and wife 
Britta of Jersey City, NJ, Jacob Moore and wife Alexa of St. Charles, IL, Christopher Ryan and wife Karla Kay of Virginia Beach, VA, Jamie Ryan and wife Lindy of Round Rock, TX. 6 Great-Grandchildren, Kaiden, Keegan, Katelyn, and Kelton Ryan of Virginia Beach, VA, Caleb Moore of St. Charles, IL. and one more great grandson due this Nov in Round Rock, TX. 

She was a long time member of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Rantoul, IL and was a retired receptionist/book keeper for the City of Rantoul. 

A grave side service will be on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the Corinth Cemetery in Corbin, KY. 

Donations can be made in her name at the donor’s choice.
