Billie Merlene Lacy, age 87, of San Angelo died Monday in a Kansas City Hospice Home.
She was born February 17, 1931 in Paint Rock, Texas, the daughter of Evans and Opal Pentecost Atwood. She graduated from Eden high school and later attended nursing school.
She was married to Harold Lacy On February 1, 1950 and they celebrated 68 years of marriage.
She worked as an attendance clerk for the San Angelo Independent School District working at Edison Junior High. She was a member of PaulAnn Baptist Church. She was a true and faithful Christian and a loving wife and mother who always put her family first. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Lacy of San Angelo, two sons, Gary Lacy and wife Tanya of Waco, Texas, Glenn Lacy and wife Kitty of Adamsville, Tennessee, and a daughter, Lisa Kasper and husband Todd of Linn Village, Kansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Cody Lacy, Matt Lacy, Garrett Lacy, Kelli Lacy, Justin Matthews, and Tyler Downs as well as four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., July 23rd, Monday in the Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
