On July 11th our beloved Mother, Ludy Selvera, 66, left this Earth and went to her eternal home surrounded by her children.
Born in Colorado City on February 9, 1952 to Reinaldo and Paula Garcia, she moved with her family all over the state of Texas before returning to her home. It is here she raised her family and worked as a caregiver and later for TDCJ.
She had many hobbies she loved such as photography, cross stitching and sewing and was an excellent gardener.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Angela Nelson of Midland, TX, Melissa Parras and husband Ruben of Abilene, TX, Tina McKinney and husband Chris of Colorado City, TX, Sarah O’Brain and husband Terry of Hobbs, NM, Markita Willmore and husband Matt of Boston, MA and one son, Nuno Selvera and wife Sonia of San Angelo, TX. She is also survived by grandchildren Kristina and Nicholas Nelson, Ruben Rey and Aaron Parras, Britanny Arrellano, Christian and William McKinney, Jacob, Elyssa, Madyson, Avery O’Brain and Buddy Selvera; as well as three great grandchildren. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sister Laura Silva of Colorado City and her brother Ray Garcia of Odessa, TX.
She is preceded in death by her father, Reinaldo Garcia and her mother and stepfather, Paula and Jack Wagner.
While our hearts our broken and we miss her terribly, we are comforted by the promise we will see her again one day. A rosary will be held Friday, July 20th at 6 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Colorado City, TX with visitation to follow and a funeral mass celebrating her life will be Saturday, July 21stat 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with interment following at Mitchell County Cemetery.
