Lynette Morris Burleson, 81, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Lynette was born December 28, 1936 in Monahans, Texas to William Burton and Verdia Belle Casey Morris.
She was raised in Monahans and during her school years was a straight “A” student and cheerleader. Lynette became very close with her high school classmates and attended all her high school reunions up until recently.
While raising her three children, Lynette started working in the banking industry. First, for Winkler County State Bank, then later, for First National Bank in Kermit and Permian Savings and Loan. Lynette then pursued a career as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for the City of Kermit for over 20 years.
She met and married the love of her life, Johnny Burleson on October 21, 1978 in Kermit, Texas where they made their home until their retirement. In 1998 they moved to Dove Creek. She and Johnny enjoyed many years of traveling the country and camping with friends and family.
Lynette was a member of Glen Meadows Baptist Church and loved attending her Sunday School Class there. She was a loving daughter, twin sister, wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family.
Lynette was very passionate about her love for the Lord. She shared her faith by singing in the church choir, playing the organ for church services and teaching the girls G.A. class in Wink. Lynette raised her children with a strong Christian influence. She also raised them with a strict hand but made sure that they were taught the value of hard work and how to be kind and compassionate to everyone. Lynette always had a strong passion for her family and enjoyed taking part in all of the family reunions.
Her favorite things were laughing and listening to jokes and stories. She also enjoyed playing board games with her family and friends and was always compelled to help animals in need. Her tremendous love, faith in Christ and incredible kindness and beautiful laugh will remain in our hearts forever! She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
