Donald Arthur Scott, 80, passed away peacefully in his home on July 24, 2018.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 28th, at Holy Angels Catholic Church.
Don was born to William A. Scott and Nellie P. Beall in Altus, Oklahoma in 1938. The family moved to Duncan, Oklahoma where he and sister Beatrice spent their formative years.
After graduating from Duncan High School, Don went on to Abilene Christian College, and joined the U.S. Air Force. While in the Air Force he met and married his loving wife and best friend. Their union was blessed with 58 years of marriage and 4 children.
Having a talent for speech and writing, Don spent most of his career in politics, television, and radio. He loved sports and promoted college and high school sports so much that he was known as the dynamic voice of West Texas Football. When he finally retired, after a long career as a Sports and News Director, he spent the rest of his career in politics as a Grant Procurement Officer at the San Angelo Council of Government.
Don was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where he served as a Lector, a Eucharistic Minister, and an usher. He was a hard working, honorable man, a loving, compassionate husband and father and will be sincerely missed.
Don is preceded by his mother, Nellie Pearl, his father William Arthur, and his sister Beatrice Lovelady.
He is survived by his wife, Judy, children: Sherri Scott; Steven Scott; Sean Scott and wife Shandy; and Sammi Goss and husband Ervin, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
