Patricia Ann Rosinbaum

Patricia Ann Rosinbaum, long time resident of San Angelo, passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 89 in Pecos, Tx. She had recently moved to Pecos to be near her son and daughter in law. A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel at First United Methodist Church in San Angelo at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24th. In lieu of visitation, the family will be available in the foyer of the Chapel after the service.

Patricia Ann Rosinbaum was born October 19, 1933, in Trent, Texas to Herman and Ora (Smith) Beasley. She attended the Trent schools, where she participated in many school activities, sports, and clubs. After graduating from Trent High School in 1951, Pat went to work for the telephone company in Abilene, and later in San Angelo.

Pat married Curtiss Wayne Rosinbaum on April 27, 1963 in Trent, Texas. After moving to San Angelo, Pat and Curtiss joined First United Methodist Church, where they were active members of their Sunday school class, and participated in many church activities. Pat enjoyed many years as a member of Beta Sigma Phi, serving the organization in various capacities. She and Curtiss had an active life, playing golf and tennis with family and friends whenever possible. Pat also enjoyed bridge club and her Mahjong group.

“Grammy Pat” was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always interested in learning about their activities.

She is survived by her son Randy Graham and wife Leslie of Pecos, TX; stepson, Daryl Rosinbaum of Waller, TX; five grandsons, Tye Graham and wife Stefanie, Trent Graham and wife Catherine, Curtiss Trey Graham and wife Shelbie, Jimmy Rosinbaum and Jeffrey Rosinbaum; three great-grandchildren, Ella Graham, Sofia Graham and Kitty Taylor Graham. She is also survived by sister Kay Shaw of Keller, nieces, Lucretia Scarth and Leslie Phillips; as well as many dear friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Curtiss Rosinbaum, her parents, Herman and Ora Beasley, and brother- in- law Jerrell Shaw.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to First United Methodist Church of San Angelo or to a charity of their choice.

June Simpson

June Simpson of San Angelo went to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Born May 24, 1936 in Newburg, TX to Walter Hamilton and Grace Mapes Hamilton, June was the youngest of seven children. June attended Mullin High School where she graduated in 1954 as Salutatorian of her class. On February 22, 1957, she married W.H. Simpson, Jr in Goldthwaite, TX. The couple settled in Austin where June worked for Austin Transit/Capital Metro, retiring in 1999 after 35 years of service.

June was a longtime member of Crestview Baptist Church where she was baptized in 1972. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, listening to music and traveling, but her real joy was spoiling her four grandchildren whenever possible.

June is survived by her husband, W.H. of San Angelo; daughter Dianne Slatter of San Angelo; daughter and son-in-law Judy & James Hejl of San Angelo; grandchildren: Johnny Loehr of Burnet, Jayme Hejl of San Angelo, Matt Hejl of Glendale, CA and Katie Hejl of Dallas; great grand-daughter Naomi Loehr of Marble Falls, sister Blanche Young of Goldthwaite and sister-in-law Frances Hamilton of Cedar Park, sister-in-law Nita Simpson of Granite Shoals as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Oakview Cemetery in Mullin, TX.

The family would like to thank Brayden Park Memory Care Unit and Gentiva Hospice Care for taking care of our mother during this past year.

We love you, Mom and will miss you and your precious laugh.

Randy Allen Summerlin, 56, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 in San Angelo, Texas.

He was born November 14, 1966 in Saranac Lake, New York to Reese and Rita Summerlin.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents Reese Summerlin and Rita Sellers, Sisters Rosa Summerlin and Resa Summerlin, Step-father Scott Sellers.

Randy is remembered by his son Joshua Summerlin, wife Jamie of Victoria, Texas; Daughters Rosa Townsend, husband Casey of Big Lake, Texas; and Sarah Juleff, husband Eddie of Lenard, Texas; Brother Rickey Summerlin, wife Lori of San Angelo, Texas, Step-brothers George Stanley, wife Cynthia of Overton, Texas; Donnie Stanley of Wiley, Texas; Step-mother Barbara Summerlin of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren McKenna Summerlin, Colton Summerlin, Gage Townsend, Zoey Townsend, Jeremiah Juleff, Riley Juleff, Jaylen Juleff numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday June 17, 2023 at CrossPoint Fellowship Church located at 4210 Coliseum Drive, San Angelo, Texas.

Eugene Rios "Keno" Perez

Eugene Rios "Keno" Perez, 75, of San Angelo passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with rosary being said at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 16, 2023 at Calvary Cemetery with Father Joey Faylona, pastor at St. Mary's Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Perez was born on February 1, 1948 in Segovia, Texas to Emilio Perez Sr and Martha Felan Rios. He met love of his life, Lupe Ojeda in Wall and they were married on October 9, 1971. She passed away on August 9, 2020. Eugene drove a truck until he retired in 2005. He loved to hunt, fish, and tinker with anything mechanical.

Preceded in death by his brother, Emilio Perez; and his father, Emilio Rios Perez, Sr.

Survivors include a son, Eugene Perez Jr. and wife Lindsay, a daughter, Jessica Tijerina and husband Gabriel; his mother, Martha Rios Perez; his sisters, Mary Lou Munoz, Alicia Mascorro, Dianna Soto, and Nancy Galvan; his brothers, Henry, Ernest, Lucio, Robert, Speedy, Jimmy, and Eddie; eight grandchildren, who he loved and adored, Paula Diaz and husband Steven, Daniela Perez, Briana Perez, Adrianna Tijerina, Kami Perez, Nathaniel Tijerina, Adyn Perez and Ava Perez; one great granddaughter, Maylee Tijerina; and 3 great grandsons, Pablo Diaz, Sebastian Martinez and Jace Medina.

Celeste S. Hess

Celeste S. Hess, 39, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hess was born on November 8, 1983 in San Angelo to Jesus Enrique “Henry”  and Francisca Diaz. Celeste graduated from San Angelo Central High School and attended LDS Business College and then received her cosmetology license from Howard College. She served an LDS mission in Louisville, Kentucky. Celeste was a loving mother and homemaker to her five children. She was always happy, never met a stranger, and was a good listening ear. Celeste loved her family and to help others.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jesus Enrique “Henry” Diaz, Sr.

Survivors include her five children, Hayden Wray Hess, Landon Marshall Hess, Kendri Ava Hess, Cevanah Jay Hess, and Elvin Riggs Hess; ex- husband, Jayson Hess;  mother, Francisca Diaz; sister, Edna Y. Diaz; two brothers, Dillan Diaz and partner Daryl Gustafson and Quinquin Diaz and spouse Angie.

Sam Rodger Cowen

Sam Rodger Cowen, 76, of Rankin passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Rankin Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Cowen was born on September 9, 1946 in Mc Camey to Willard and Garan Ann Cowen. Sam graduated from Cloudcroft High School in New Mexico. He joined the U. S. Army, after high school, and served two combat tours in Vietnam. He was also a member of the U. S. Army Reserves and was honorably discharged. Sam worked for numerous oil field companies in West Texas throughout his career. He always wanted to be a mechanic and was good at taking cars apart but couldn't ever figure out how to put them back together.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sandra Kay Dawson; and two brothers, Kenneth J. Cowen and Charles Ross Cowen.

He is survived by three daughters, Sammie Michelle, Kay Ellen, and Jimma; a son, Garan James; and two brothers, John Robert and Sherrod Wayne.

Catarina Alvarez Aguilar

Catarina "Cata" Alvarez Aguilar, 78, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 9, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.

Viewing will be from 10:00AM-8:00PM Monday, June 12, 2023 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel with a prayer service at 6:00PM. Funeral service will be at 10:00AM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Burial will follow in Miles Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Cata was born June 16, 1944 to Domingo and Manuela Alvarez in Morelos, Coahuila, Mexico. She met and married the love of her life, Juan Antonio Aguilar on January 4, 1965. They moved to Miles, Texas in 1979 and together they raised 5 wonderful children.

Cata was a very loving, warm-hearted woman who lived in the moment and always treated everyone with a kind heart and a big smile. She never met a stranger, and her language barrier never stopped her from having multiple friends. Cata was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. You could always count on having a warm meal and delicious tortillas when you went to her house. Cata was very devoted to her faith and a strong woman of God. She left a lasting legacy in all of our hearts that we will cherish forever.

Cata was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Jose "Pepito" Aguilar; and her husband.

She is survived by four daughters, Maria Arteaga and husband Art of San Angelo, Marta Contreras and husband Armando of Del Rio, Patricia Chappa and husband Frank of Miles, and Carmen Aguilar of Miles; one son, Jesse Aguilar and wife Geneva of Miles. She also has two special grandkids whom she raised as her own, Tresint and Gissele Everhardt. She leaves behind numerous grandkids, great grandkids, a great great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins and her extended family the Scott's and Brown family.

The family would like to thank all the staff from WTRC Hospice of San Angelo and Robert Massie Funeral Home for all the love and care provided to our dearest Cata.

Donald Wade Spradley

Donald Wade Spradley was born in Slaton on January 14, 1964 and peacefully passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 in San Angelo. He was a loving father, a talented sound engineer, and a passionate musician.

Wade's musical journey spanned over four decades, where he showcased his drumming skills and left an indelible mark on the local music scene. His true passion, however, lay in nurturing young talents, creating an environment where kids could explore their musical gifts. His dedication and guidance helped shape the next generation of musicians.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Wade was a fourth-generation upholsterer. He honed his craft under his father's tutelage and shared his expertise with his own children and those eager to learn. His unparalleled eye for detail and design ensured that every piece he worked on became a work of art.

Known affectionately as Uncle Wade, he was a colorful character, always ready with a good joke and a mischievous grin. His love for history and mystery enriched his life and sparked curiosity in others.

Wade is survived by his children, Lacey Kay Levi and Jacob Wesley Spradley, his father Donald Spradley, his two sisters, Donita Klement and Tina McClain, his grandchildren, Logan and Chloe Langford, as well as his nieces, nephews, and countless individuals whom he mentored and cared for like family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Faye Lightsey.

A celebration of Wade's life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at Rendezvous, 1421 W Beauregard, San Angelo, TX 76901. Join us for a joyous gathering filled with music, delicious food, and laughter, as we honor his memory and the impact he had on all of our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to their GoFundMe campaign dedicated to covering Wade's final expenses.

Levi Allen Ball

Levi Allen Ball, 52, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, family will great friends from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Ball was born March 9, 1971 in San Angelo to Levi David Ball of Ludington, Michigan and Joyce Darlene Loftin of Mertzon.

He was a student at Lakeview High School during the mid to late 1980's Levi was taught the art of cooking by his uncle, Henry Ball. Henry came to Texas around 1976 to help raise his older brother's children due to a tragic car accident that took his life in 1973. Henry was the only "Dad" Levi ever knew, and he wanted to be just like him. Levi utilized his cooking skills at restaurants around San Angelo such as Denny's, Outback Steakhouse, Logan's Roadhouse, Chili's, and the Mesquite Bean Cafe.

Levi was preceded in death by his parents and his "Dad".

He is survived by his sister, Anita Duke and husband Joe of Mertzon; his best friend of 37 years, Elisa Bartlett of Carlsbad; his stepmom, Pam Sherman; and her children, Mandy Six, Eric Sherman and Julie Winchester all of Grape Creek.

Levi had no children of his own but did have his beloved fur baby, Cowboy. He greatly adored his nieces and nephews, Michael Ball of Big Lake, Jason Pratt and his daughter, Kiera, and her mom, Amanda of San Angelo, Brandy Lloyd and her children, Emma Martin and Liam Lloyd of Big Lake, Casey and his wife Rosa Townsend and their children, Gage and Zoey of Big Lake, Matthew and his wife Jessica and their children, Alyssa Hughes, William and Nyomi Duke of Mertzon.

Shirley Alberta Gerharter

Shirley Gerharter (Barrows), 98, went to be with Jesus on Mother's Day, May 14, 2023.

Shirley was born to parents Arthur C. Barrows and Helen Ney Barrows on April 24, 1925 in New Britain, Conn. She grew up in New Britain and graduated from New Britain H. S. in 1943. She attended business school and also worked as a secretary at nights during World War II for Corbin while still in high school and after graduating.

She met her future husband Erwin Gerharter at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in New Britain. Erwin was soon drafted and sent to the South Pacific. After his discharged Erwin and Shirley were married on December 1, 1945, at St. Matthew's. They then traveled to Lawrence, Kansas where Erwin entered University of Kansas, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1949. 3 children were born to them, Susan, Stephen, and Scott. The family lived in Kansas during the 1950's and then moved to Maumee, Ohio, near Toledo in 1960. Shirley held a number of jobs as a secretary. She worked for insurance companies, hotels, architect, engineer, and an accountant. One time she worked as a nanny for a family of 7 children. Shirley was active in her church teaching Sunday School and working in the church office. She was a hard worker, an outstanding typist and an excellent secretary. She enjoyed sewing making clothes for her children and later quilts for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Erwin were married 64 years 10 months and 3 days when Erwin passed away in 2010. Shirley lived her last 7 years in San Angelo most of the time with her daughter Susan.

Shirley is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Helen and Ludwig Rechenberger; her father, Arthur Barrows; her grandparents, Otto and Anna Ney; her husband, Erwin Gerharter; her son, Stephen Gerharter; and a great grandson, Luke Browning Fuessel.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Fuessel of San Angelo; her son, Scott Gerharter of Toledo, Ohio; 8 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren, and 6 great, great grandchildren.

Shirley requested that there be no services. Interment will be at Highlands Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio on June 1, 2023.
