Garrett Dean George

Garrett Dean George, age 50, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. 

He was born on October 29, 1973 in San Angelo, Texas to Bob and Donna George. Garrett attended Wall High School and graduated i the class of 1993. He later went to Howard Payne University before beginning his career as a Respiratory Therapist for Professional Medical. 

Garrett had a passion for the great outdoors and enjoyed everything it had to offer. He especially loved fishing and hunting. Garrett's love of hunting led him to become a Hunting Guide, leading others on excursions and even traveling to various places including Africa. When he wasn't on the hunt or casting a line, Garrett also enjoyed traveling. His most enjoyable trips were those to Costa Rica with his father. 

Garrett was preceded in death by his father, Bob George; grandparents, Don & Lucy Waggoner; and aunt & uncle Judy & Ricky Ruth. 

Left to cherish Garrett's memory are his children, Garrison George and Megan Smith; mother, Donna George; brother, Rob George and wife Christine; uncles Jim Mitchell and wife Jeanie, and Eddie Waggoner. Also left are cousins Roby George and wife Victoria, Madyson George, Doug Mitchell, Dawn Nichelson and husband Philip, Lauren Nichelson, Logan Nichelson, and Stephanie Ruth; second cousins, Addison Mitchell, Mac Mitchell, Slater Ruth, and Rickki Ruth. 

Visitation for Garrett will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday March 18th, 2024 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at First Christian Church's Courtyard. Interment will follow at Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Robert Halbert

Robert Allen Halbert (Bob, Bobby, Bobo, "Hubert"), "Larger Than Life", born on March 13, 1947 in San Angelo, TX began his trail ride in Heaven on March 12, 2024. 

Bob excelled in all sports in high school and attended McMurry Univ. on a football scholarship. He received his BA degree in Physical Education and History. In 1969, Bob played semi-pro football for the Ft. Worth Braves. He coached and taught in McCamey and Iraan, TX. He then decided he needed to make more money and began a career as a Scout (the "best job in the oilfield") for Exxon Oil in Midland, TX. In 1982 he joined his brother Dan in operating Halbert LPG of Eldorado, TX until retirement in 2009. 

Bob overcame numerous (over 100) procedures and surgeries including a heart transplant in 2014. He was involved in many community organizations, was a 32nd Degree Mason in San Angelo Lodge 1260, the Suez Shriners in San Angelo, SA Gun Club, and a member of First Baptist Church, San Angelo. 

Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest or as he would say: "don't look back, they might be gaining on ya!" He was a man's man!! He had a killer smile, was happy, always joking, looking for a good time, and always had a story to tell with friends. He loved crappie fishing, trail rides, shooting, loading bullets, and poker. He and Billie loved their trips to Winstar. Bob was always sitting on "GO!" He loved his family and was so proud of his kids. 

He is survived by wife of 37 years, Billie Halbert, son Jarrod McCarroll (Staci) of Lenexa, KS, daughters: Tuesdee Obadiah of Leander, TX, Kauli Halbert of Burleson, TX, and like-a-son Jason Polser (Margaret) of Canyon Lake, TX. Grandchildren are Jagger McCarroll, Iris and Edie Obadiah, Taylor and Dylan Hines, and Dylan Floyd. Also survived by: brother Dan Halbert (Allene) and sister-in-law Judy Dover (Wade) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Frankie Halbert, and brother Jay. 

Bob will be sorely missed by his best buddy, David Darnell, and his coffee buddies Dan McClung, Ronnie Roach, Burl Terrill, and many other lifelong friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. 

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Johnson's Funeral Home, San Angelo, TX. 

And as Bob would say, "Add-ios!"

Ronald Evans

Ronnie Evans, 82, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Memorial services will be planned at a later date. Arrangement services are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born on September 20, 1942 in Charleston, South Carolina to Roy and Mildred Evans. Ronnie was raised in Odessa. Ronnie was a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, PRCA. He was a bull rider and rancher in his early years. He then had a very long career in the oil and gas industry until he retired. Ronnie married Judy Stout on April 26, 1963. They would have celebrated 62 years of marriage this year.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and their beloved son, Kevin Dean Evans.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his daughter, Kelly Childers and her husband Tommy; a daughter-in-law, Chelli Evans; a brother, Lance Evans; five grandchildren, Gary Lucas, Josh Little, Kristin Bone, T R Childers, and Jake Childers; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

James Barnett Miller III

James Barnett Miller III, 76, of San Angelo passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2024 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with Frank Berthold, of North Chadbourne Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Miller was born on August 14, 1947 in Lubbock. He a graduated from the University of Texas with a masters of pharmacology. He was a pharmacist at Community Hospital for over 20 years. James married Margie McGara on November 4, 2013. His hobbies included participating in barbecue and chili cook-offs. He was a strong willed, big hearted gentleman with a large smile. James loved baking and eating cookies with the kids and was affectionately known as the "cookie monster". One of his favorite leisure activities was sitting on his front porch and watching nature.

He is preceded in death by a son, Kyle Miller.

James is survived by his wife Margie; 4 children Drew Miller and wife Tena, Missy Doggett, Heather Chagolla, and Brandy Moore and her husband Thomas; and seven grandchildren.

Paul Carbajal

Paul Carbajal, 60, of San Angelo, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Shannon Hospital. He was born in San Angelo on August 20, 1963 to Gilbert and Antonia Carbajal.

Paul met and married his wife Juanita Carbajal on May 5th, 1979. Together they had 6 children and raised 4 grandchildren. Paul then started his career as a plumber at the age of 15 and continued working until he became blind. He finished his plumbing career at McCarley Plumbing. Paul then started a new career at the West Texas Lighthouse in 2015 making pens which he was proud of even though having a disability. As Paul stated " Era plomero y ahora soy plumero." He wasn't just good at his job, he was a wonderful husband, Father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Paul was a proud member of the Kingdom Hall and had a passion for Jehovah's World. One thing about Paul he had a strong faith. He always was looking forward to one day being able to see again and be free of any health issues such as doing dialysis 3 times a week. He is now at peace, no more pain, no more suffering.

Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Carbajal; sister, Violet Ybarra; and brother-in-law, Richard Ybarra.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Carbajal, his parents, Gilbert and Antonia Carbajal; siblings, Yolanda Ahmuda, Sylvia Carbajal, Victor Carbajal, and David Carbajal; his loving Children, Paul Anthony and wife Claudia, Isaac and fiancée Kristina, Marisol and fiance Lorenzo Fuentes, Gilbert, Othniel (OT) and fiancée Brenda, and Javier; 19 Grandchildren, whom he adored so much, Pablo, Valeria, Daniela, Lucas, Julian, Hayden, Bella, Daniel, Jazmyne, Savannah, Leo, Cash, Estella, Nathaniel, Camren, Isaiah, Violet, Richard, and Zavier; he was also happy he was going to have his 1st great-grandchild this year; 19 nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly; and so many other close family members that meant so much to him.

Paul will be remembered as a loving, caring person. He loved sitting outside, listening to music, barbecuing, and traveling. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends, having a good time. He always had a helping hand to anyone and everyone. He was also known for always putting other's needs first before his own. He always wanted everyone to be united together. Everyone knew him as Papo/Whapo.

The family would like to thank everyone at Fresenius Kidney Care San Angelo for all the help.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 18th, 2024 from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with a special talk from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, March 19th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Robert Massie Chapel.

Janice Carol Pelzel

Heaven's gates opened to let Janice Pelzel in on March 16, 2024. Janice was born on January 3, 1946, in Bakersfield, CA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Ruby Fickling and her in laws, Bill and Doris Pelzel.

Janice is survived by her husband, David Pelzel, her sister, Ruby Fickling and brothers, Richard and Jerry Fickling, sisters-in-law, Marie Stewart and Ann Johnson, her daughters, Kathy (David) Novian of San Angelo, TX, and DeDe (Shane) Smith of Ira, Tx and her sons, Mikel (Sommer) Pelzel of Miles, TX and Daniel (Tasha) Pelzel of Robert Lee, TX. Her legacy of love includes 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family. A celebration of her life will include a Rosary at Harper Funeral Home on Sunday, March 24 at 6 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 25 at Sacred Heart Cathedral followed by internment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A family meal will follow at Sacred Heart.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Catholic Outreach or a charity of your choice.

Connie Sue Richardson

Connie Sue Richardson, passed into the hands of her lord Saturday morning March 16, 2024. She was 63 years of age. Connie was born in Thomas Oklahoma on March 25, 1960. She grew up in Oklahoma where she was the youngest of seven children. She attended Oakwood Schools and graduated from Canton High School in 1978 where she was active in band as the drum major and active in Basketball. She received the John Phillips Sousa award and the Sharp and Nichols outstanding musician award. After graduation she went to work for United States Gypsum Company. She then moved to San Angelo and worked for Producers Livestock and the Cargile Family whom she deeply loved and respected for 29 years retiring in 2022. She married Mike Richardson on July 24, 1990. Connie had two sons who she cherished deeply, Derek Kisich, and Lance Richardson. Connie’s greatest joy was her granddaughter, Alexandra. Connie loved life and her family and friends. Connie had a special side kick Jan Hughes who she texted at the least hourly.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Sisters Clorus Amen, and Sally Crelly, Brothers Leroy, and Gale Walker.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years Mike Richardson, Son Derek Kisich and Myra of Tuson, Arizona, and Lance Richardson of Ogalla, Nebraska, one brother Clyde Walker of Eagle City, Oklahoma, and one sister Ann Griffith of Davenport, Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. May God rest her soul.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., Tuesday March 19, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home. The Burial will be at Eagle City Cemetery, in Eagle City, Oklahoma.

Memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.

Robert Edward "Ted" Bennett

Robert Edward “Ted” Bennett, 61, of San Angelo passed away Friday, March 15, 2024, in San Angelo. Robert, affectionately known as “Ted” was born February 22, 1963, in Odessa, Texas to Claude Hardy and Martha Ann Hallman Bennett. He grew up in Junction, Texas and graduated from Junction High School. After high school, he attended Angelo State University for a few years. Ted worked for UPS for over 35 years. He was a loving son, brother and friend and enjoyed collecting artwork and items of beauty. Ted was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, James Bennett, of San Angelo and his sister, Marcia Bennet, also of San Angelo. The graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Sherry Pauline Price

Sherry Pauline (Conway) Price of San Angelo, TX, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on March 12, 2024, after a long struggle with health issues and kidney disease. Sherry is no longer in pain, no longer suffering, and can be free of this earthly form. She had just celebrated her 74th birthday surrounded by loving family a short time ago.

Sherry was born on January 5, 1950, in Hondo, TX, the first child of Chris Daniel (CD) Conway, Jr. and Mary Lee (Hoover) Conway. Growing up as a young girl, Sherry attended numerous primary schools all over Texas as the family travelled around with her father’s work in road construction. In 1962, the Conway family settled down in San Angelo and it became Sherry’s hometown as well for many years to come. Attending San Angelo Central High School during the 1960’s, Sherry received her GED in 1969.

In her teenage years, Sherry was instrumental in the rearing of her three younger brothers, helping to take care of them while at home, just like a big sister would, lessons that would later be invaluable in the raising of her own daughter as a single mom. She held a special connection to her first brother, Chris, as they shared the same birthday, 2 years apart. Sherry worked at Luby’s in the Village and later held other positions including being one of the first servers at the top of the Hemisfair Tower of Americas in San Antonio during the 1968 World’s Fair. Sherry always loved to serve and help others.

Remaining in San Angelo, with an entrepreneurial business spirit, in the early 80s Sherry opened her own craft store, selling plaster moldings and hand painted crafts. In the late 80s, Sherry went to work in the banking industry holding carious positions at Southwest Bank, First Financial, and San Angelo National Bank and then at Texas Bank in the early 2000’s. Later in life, she worked with her husband, Gerry Price, at Wilson Land Surveying, filing surveys and handling the general accounting for the business until her health issues took hold. A fierce and strong force to be reckoned with, Sherry strived to work hard all her life, no matter the task, doing whatever it took to get the job done. There wasn’t a challenge that Sherry wouldn’t meet head-on or a friend she didn’t help along the way.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Gerry Price of San Angelo, a daughter, Dawn Michelle and husband Adrian Torres of Eden, brother, Bill and wife Deb Conway of Plano, 2 stepdaughters, Christal Price, Holly and husband Steve Thurman, a stepson, Hunter Price, 3 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 5 nieces. Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, father, and two brothers, Chris Daniel Conway, III and Donald Curtis Conway, and her mother-in-law, Mary Wilson and father-in-law, William C. Wilson, Jr.

Sherry’s bright spirit and loving presence will be missed by her family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to donate to the American Kidney Fund in Sherry’s memory.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Fairmount Cemetery at 11:00am. Pallbearers will be Adrian Torres, Junior Torres, Kyler Price, Steve Plowman, Hunter Price, and Steve Thurman.

We the family would like to send a special thank you to Shannon Hospital and Staff that cared for Sherry. Would like to also thank Hospice of San Angelo and staff (Christina and Brittney), Regency and Staff for the loving care they provided.
