Joy Wiedenmann, of Eldorado, Texas passed away August 20, 2024. She lived a FULL life full of love, especially for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her family. She was very wise in giving advice and consoling for whoever may need it. Joy grew up in Eldorado. She was the Talon Prom Queen and Valedictorian of her class. One day after her graduation, on her 18th birthday, she married Dwight Wiedenmann in Carslbad, New Mexico. Dwight's father, Henry Wiedenmann, O.D., was the doctor in Eldorado and actually delivered Joy when she was born to Myrtle Nixon Winters McMillan. Joy attended college at Schreiner Institute in Kerrville, Texas, but later for went college to start a family. Moved to San Antonio in 1959 and was a homemaker until Dwight, Jr. started first grade. In 1972 joy and Dwight, Sr. moved to Richardson, Texas and later to McKinney, Texas. In McKinney she continued Design's by Joy and was involved in the Heritage Guild, where she was president. She was also a member of the Red Hats and Bridge Club. After Dwight Sr's. death she moved back to San Antonio in 2003. In February 2008 she suffered a severe stroke which sidelined her for a while. Her love for her family was not deterred however. She was still able to "Love" her family and give sage advice. She lived independently in her home until 2018 with assistance from her daughter Sherry. In 2018 she entered Morningside Assisted Living. In 2022 she was transferred to the Schleicher County Nursing Home in Eldorado, Texas for full time care. When she was advised that she was being transferred to Eldorado she said "Oh, I get to go back Home!" Schleicher County Nursing Home should be recognized for the EXCELLENT care they provided Joy. Joy lost her husband, Dwight, Sr. in 1997 on August 26. Joy is survived by her daughter Sherry Nix and Husband Jerry Nix of Eldorado, Texas, Dwight Wiedenmann, Jr. and wife Dannette (Dane) Wiedenmann of Chickasha, OK. Three grandchildren, Shawn MacDiarmid Bonife and husband Tony Bonife of San Antonio, Texas, Casie Jones and husband Clay Jones of Allen, Texas, Jeremy Wiedenmann and wife Jing Wiedenmann of Edmond, OK., two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Quinn Wiedenmann of Edmond, OK. Joy ADORED her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. Joy lived a life full of LOVE for everyone and espesciall her FAMILY! She will be deeply missed!
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at The Church of Christ in Eldorado, Texas. Burial service will be at the Eldorado Cemetery.
