In response to flooding conditions in Tom Green County, the Texas Division of Emergency Management will be activating to "Level III" in support of the Tom Green County/San Angelo Office of Emergency Management.

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Tom Green County Commissioners’ Court has proposed a tax rate that will generate significant new revenue for the county this year. The proposed rate is 0.47290 cents per $100 of property valuation. For the fiscal year 2025, which begins on October 1, the county anticipates approximately $10.5 billion in taxable property, up from $10.06 billion budgeted last year. The total amount property owners will pay is calculated by multiplying the tax rate by the taxable value of their property.

SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County is set to raise property taxes, though not as steeply as the City of San Angelo did. The county has published its final proposed budget following the last of eight budget sessions that concluded on Monday.

Precinct 4 Commissioner Shawn Nanny has moved to impose more restrictions on Mineral Wells Crossing Park, located off U.S. 277 at Mineral Wells Road, just north of Christoval, to better preserve the park.
