02/23/2022 - 09:15 , by TKing09

On February 20, 2022, Douglas Eugene Rosser (Gene), 65, of San Angelo was surrounded by his loving family as he peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus. Gene was born March 12, 1956, in San Angelo as the second youngest of eight children to Lewis and Mildred Rosser. He married Pam Abbott on June 21, 1980, in Waco, Texas, and was blessed with three children and nine grandchildren.

Gene was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend to all who knew him. He loved piddling in his hangar, flying his airplane with his brothers and sons, heart-to-heart talks with his daughter, taking trips with Pam, watching the Cowboys, and most of all cheering on his kids and grandkids in all of their many activities. His greatest joy, besides Pammy, was spending time with his grandchildren. He was so proud of the family that he and Pam built together.

Gene spent his career driving for UPS, making many lifelong friends along the
way. He always had a smile on his face and a laugh that was contagious.
Gene was a firm believer in Christ and showed the love of Jesus to everyone he
met. He and Pam were members of New Hope Bible Church.

Upon arriving in heaven, Gene was reunited with several relatives and friends
whom he loved and missed dearly including his parents Lewis and Mildred Rosser, his
brothers Jimmie Rosser, Bryant Rosser, and Terry Rosser, and sister Barbara
Bradshaw.

Linda was married to David Ortiz on October 6, 1956. During their 62 years of marriage they were blessed with 5 children. She took pride in her family and their accomplishments. She was the rock in our family and the strongest woman we’ve ever known. She passed that spirit down to her children.

Sue "SueSue" Bramhall

02/23/2022 - 09:04 , by TKing09

Sue Bramhall, 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 18, 2022. Sue was born Sept. 20, 1933 to Wylie and Bertha Reese in the Oak Grove community outside of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

She was the youngest of 10 children growing up in a very close and active family.

She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School at the age of 16. She was married to Wayne Bramhall on May 29, 1951 in Texarkana, Texas.

She had three loving children Joe Paul, Brenda and Julie.

Her acquaintances called her Sue. Her family (extended and otherwise) knew her as Sue Sue.

Sue was a woman of high integrity and loved the Lord. She worshipped at the Johnson Street Church of Christ where she and her family were dedicated members for many, many years.

She was a true servant and loved her relationships with her church family that became her extended family.

After marriage, Wayne and Sue lived and worked in Chicago, IL where Wayne was stationed in the Army. They then lived in Irving, Tx where Wayne worked for Wyatt Food Stores. Joe Paul was born in Irving. They relocated to Abilene where Brenda were born. They moved to San Angelo in 1967 where Julie was born and made San Angelo their home.

Sue was very talented in many ways, but as an executive assistant and administrator, she began a long career in public service in the District Clerk's office. She was known as Mrs. Bramhall at the court house where she was the District Clerk of Tom Green County for 19 years from 1979-1998. She was selected by her peers as the outstanding District Clerk in the State of Texas, 1994-95.

Sue was blessed with a servant's heart. She assisted in numerous church and civic activities and portrayed a role of Christian obedience. Possessing a keen mind, she was also an avid bridge player. Most of all she was a loving Mother, best friend and confidant with all of her grandchildren.

Sue remained very close to her East Texas family, and became engaged in all of the activities of her children and grandchildren.

Sue Sue was a competitor, and she seldom missed a sporting event traveling many miles to watch her children and grandchildren play in any sport or activity.

She endured many, many evenings in sporting and UIL events for all her grandchildren. Yes, she loved and adored her children, but each of the grandchildren knew that they were loved even more.

After her retirement from the Clerk's position, Sue volunteered her time with the Auxiliary at Shannon Hospital. As with other parts of her life, she immersed herself in her new duties and once again became a road warrior for the Hospital Volunteer cause. She became the secretary of the State Hospital Volunteer Board and was in line for the presidency. Her duties included arranging state conferences and inviting speakers for those conferences. She was the current recording secretary for the local chapter of hospital volunteers at Shannon Hospital.

She loved her work with the Hospital Volunteer association and became the ultimate patient advocate.

She was a treasure to all who knew her and an Angel to all she loved.

She is survived by son, Dr. J.P. Bramhall and wife, Belle of College Station, daughter, Brenda Montgomery and husband Wrey of San Angelo and daughter Julie Campbell and husband Thorne of San Angelo. Grandchildren – Bobby Bramhall of Nashville, TN; Kaci Anderson and husband, Chase of College Station; Reese Montgomery of San Angelo; Madalyn Campbell of San Angelo, Wyatt Campbell of Austin and Cade Campbell of San Angelo.

Jeff Box

02/21/2022 - 14:55 , by TKing09

My name is Jeff Box. I grew up as an ‘Air Force brat’ and I have spent 47 years in vocational ministry, so I am used to moving. But I made my final move Friday, February 18, 2022, when my Lord and Savior called me home. My family and friends plan to gather and celebrate God and His gift of life on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Glen Meadows Baptist Church. Dress casual, Dallas Cowboy apparel is deeply appreciated. My journey started on September 15, 1955 when I was born to John and Carolyn Box in San Angelo. Shortly thereafter my Dad joined the Air Force and off we went. I was an introverted and insecure kid and that got me into trouble as I was trying to fufill other people’s expectations and fit in with anybody at any cost. Then a marvelous chain of events occurred that would be life altering.

My parents divorced and my dad married a wonderful woman from Vietnam, she eventually became one of my heroes. In 1971we moved to Okinawa, Japan. There I had an injury that resulted in blood poisoning and 60 days in an Army hospital with a ward of 50+ people, all wounded in the Vietnam war, except me. I tried to fit in and failed. But they adopted me as mascot and called me ‘The Kid’. I had both horrible and wonderful experiences. The best was when I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I walked out of the hospital with a leg brace and a new heart and a new vision of myself. When my Dad was transferred to San Antonio, Texas I moved to San Angelo to live with my Grandparents, Clyde, and Marie Box. My grandmother would become another hero. I enrolled at Lake View High School mid-way though my sophomore year and am a proud 1974 graduate. It was here that I discovered a hidden talent in journalism and photo-journalism. I wanted to be a Christian journalist/sportscaster. But God had other plans. I eventually attended Western Texas College and West Texas State University where I got a degree in journalism. But my path was changed. I was going into vocational ministry. At WTSU I met Evelyn Laura Nunn, from Odessa and in 1979 we married. We would tell people she gave up being a Nunn to marry a Baptist Preacher.

We attended Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary and have been blessed with two great kids, Anna Rachel (’82) and Joshua Paul (’85). The two would eventually find their soulmates and marry and bless us with three fantastic grandkids. What legacy I may have is carried on by my beloved wife, Evelyn of San Angelo, my children Rachel Phelps, her husband Jonathan and their children Madison and Ryan, of Murphy, Texas. My son Josh Box, his wife Heather, and their daughter Tinley, of Midland, Texas. My mother Ly Box of Helotes, Texas; brother Steve Box and his wife Alice and their children of Helotes, Texas, plus many cousins and friends. Going ahead of me in this journey is my father John Box, sister Marie Box, grandson Connor Box and grandparents Clyde and Marie Box.

Do me a favor, instead of flowers donate to the Concho Valley Baptist Association, pastoral care, or the discipleship ministry of Glen Meadows Baptist Church or any ministry of your church. I pray that you know Christ as your Lord and strive to follow Him daily in loving obedience.
