Jerlean "Grandma" Walker

JERLEAN “GRANDMA” WALKER, of San Angelo passed away peacefully in her home on July 29,2023 at the age of 86. She was born March 12, 1937, in San Angelo, Texas to Forest Walker and Sarah Pullen Walker who shortly passed after giving birth. Jerlean was raised by her grandparents, Buster and Ella Pullen and after their passing, she lived with her father and stepmother, Willie B “Mother” Walker. Jerlean attended Blackshear where she made many lifelong friends along the way. She enjoyed many hobbies like going to bingo, doing puzzles, buying lottery tickets, and traveling. She had a passion for sewing and cooking like no other and was so good at pool she earned the name “Pool Sharp”. Grandma had an open-door policy, everybody was welcomed in her home, no matter who you were. There was not a soul who was a stranger to her, she made an incredible mark on anyone she crossed paths with. To know her was to love her.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Brenda (Louis), Sarah, Herbert (Georgia), Wayne (Sandra), Vanessa, Forest (Tanya) and Nikki (Ryan) all of San Angelo; 23 Grandchildren; 66 Great-grandchildren and 29 Great-great grandchildren all of whom she loved and cherished dearly. She is also survived by her Sibling, Mary Jean Lewis, Daughter in love, Sheri, her Son in-law, Ottway, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends, Norma “Ms.Nette” Russell, Emma Dale French, Merlene Ussery, Johnny “JJ” Jackson, Alfred Branch and her pet pug Pricilla “Prissy” Annette Walker.

Jerlean was preceeded in death by her spouses, Robert Miller and Ernest Lewis; her daughters, Annette, Patricia, Janet, Janette; her Grandchildren, Edward, Cassandra and Cayce; and her siblings, Arthur (Heavy), Oscar (Bubba Red), Stanley and Ruthetta; her Sons-In-law, Bobby (Jugga), Johnny (Daddy Rat); her sisters-in-law, Ida Mae and Clara Fae Walker; and her pet Sassy.

You may visit Grandma Friday, August 11, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd., San Angelo, TX 76904. The Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 12:00 P.M., at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1011 Martin Luther King Dr., San Angelo, TX 76903. The Interment will follow at Delta Memorial Park, 3500 Arden Road, San Angelo, TX 76901.
