Maria Estella M. Cuellar

03/11/2022 - 09:08 , by TKing09

Estella Maria Cuellar, 94, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in Robert Lee, as she was called by God to live gloriously in her eternal home.

Public viewing will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2022 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel, with Jesse Leyva officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Estella Cuellar was born on April 26, 1927 in Uvalde, Texas. Her life was an example of how seemingly contrasting qualities can be harmonious: While she would often quote herself as being someone "not to be messed with," she actually had the kindest heart and most generous spirit. Her enduring spirit helped her overcome many hardships and resulted in a lifelong dedication to work, most importantly as a servant of God. Throughout her lifetime, she dedicated her time to working in a laundromat, volunteering at Fannin Elementary School, preparing meals as a devoted member of Genesis Baptist Church, and taking care of children, both her own and the many others she treated as her own. She left a legacy unmatched by most and lit up any room where her presence was felt. She enjoyed decorating the church, caring for her indoor plants, listening to country music, watching baseball, viewing Pro Wrestling with her grandson, and spending time with her loved ones. Always filled with joy, she is remembered as one who danced through life, even up to her final days.

Survivors include one sister, Carmen Tobar and one sister-in-law, Ramona Morales. She is survived also by two daughters, Mary Cadenhead and husband Joe of Big Spring, and Gloria Trevino and husband Henry of San Antonio; three stepchildren, Roger Cuellar, Jr. and wife Jesse, Alicia Estrada, and Eddie Cuellar all of San Angelo; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Estella is also survived by three grandchildren, whom she had a hand in raising: Liz Cuellar, George Cuellar, and John Marc Cuellar, all of San Angelo; and two great-grandchildren, whom she helped care for with their mom, Jennifer Hedden: Isabella Cuellar and Liam Cuellar.

Estella was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Ciria Morales; husband, Roger R. Cuellar, Sr.; son, Ernest Cuellar; daughter-in-law, Chris Cuellar; son-in-law, Manuel Estrada; brother, Pedro Morales; and three sisters, Rosa Trevino, Ramona Morales, and Linda Gomez. She is additionally survived by many other family members, friends, and loved ones.
