Vasquez Rev. Jose J.

Rev. Jose J. Vasquez, 90, of San Angelo passed away Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born May 9, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas.
Brother Vasquez, as he was dearly known, served his ministry with the Rio Grande and southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He served in WWII with the Army where he received the Purple Heart.
Survivors include his daughters Raquel Vasquez-Rosas and husband Marco A Rosas, Sr. and Noemi Vasquez; grandchildren Rachel E. Vasquez, MJ Rosas, Jr., Valerie A. Hernandez, D. Renae Hernandez, and Gabriella Rosas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Florencio and Ysidra Vasquez; brothers Samuel Vasquez, Luis Vasquez and Juan Vasquez; and sisters Elena Sanchez, and Lola Vasquez.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be MJ Rosas, Jr., Valerie A. Hernandez, Pedro Gutierrez, Thomas Gutierrez, Jr., Eduardo Gutierrez and Jose Daniel Vasquez.

Vanderlind Merlene McGraw

Merlene McGraw Vanderlind 85, met her Lord and Savior face to face on January 16, 2014.
Merlene was born in Christoval, Texas on September 1, 1928 to Eva and W.E. McGraw. Merlene grew up all around Texas moving often because her father was a Baptist minister. She graduated from Spring Lake High School and went on to attend Wayland Baptist University. Merlene would graduate with an Associates in Arts. She would move to San Angelo in 1965 where Merlene would have a few different jobs before working as a church secretary for many years before retiring.
Merlene is preceded in death by her husband William K. Vanderlind; her parents; two brothers William "Bill" Elliott McGraw II, and James "Ted" Edward McGraw. 
Mrs. Vanderlind is survived by four children Ralph Kenneth West and his wife Becky, Robert Charles West, and his wife Brenda, William Leonard West and his wife Sallye, and Teresa West Mejia and her husband Pete; with 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; Along with one special Grandchild Sarah Fletcher whom she helped raise and loved greatly.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday January 17, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday January 18, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
