Anita M. Purdham, 83 of San Angelo, died Thursday, February 6, 2014. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. She is survived by her daughter Royette Mazuk of Heath, TX and son Rockie Woods of McKinney, TX.

Sherrill Geneva May

Geneva May Sherrill passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014. She was 65. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearlie Sherrill; two sisters, Sadie Rae and Edna Fay; two brothers, Clifford Dale and Raymond; and a nephew, Ramon Flores. She is survived by brothers Bill and family and Calvin and family; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ASPCA in her honor, as she was an animal lover to the very end. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home. Talafuse Andrew Jackson

Andrew Jackson (Jack) Talafuse born January 5, 1924 in Rosebud, TX.
Jack's family moved to San Angelo when he was just one. Jack grew up in San Angelo and attended and graduated from School here in San Angelo. Mr. Talafuse was drafted and served in the Army Air Corp. during World War II in Europe. Jack married the love of his life Joyce Ray Munselle on September 2, 1947 in San Angelo, and together they had one son Charles and one daughter Jan. Once he was honorably discharged from the military he worked as a salesman for Armor and CO. Jack was the owner and operator of Angelo Food Foundation for 24 years before retiring in 1986. Mr. Talafuse was post commander of American Legion Post 132 from 1972 to 1978 and was also a member of the V.F.W., also serving as a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of San Angelo.
Jack is preceded in death by his Father Charles W. Talafuse, Mother Clara Lillian Schultz; Three Brothers Wilburn C., Clarence W., and Darwin D. Talafuse.
Mr. Talafuse is survived by two children Charles Talafuse and wife Judy of Lewisville,TX, and Jan Wood and husband Ronnie of The Colony, TX; Two Grandsons Eric, and Chris; One Granddaughter Lisa; Two Great Grandsons, and Three Great Granddaughters; 6 nephews and 2 nieces.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Sunday February 9, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday February 10, 2014 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Tate Weldon Dee

Weldon Dee Tate went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014. Tate was born on April 1, 1926, in Winters, Texas, to William Franklin and Maye Etta Ryals Tate. He served in the Navy during WWII from 1944-1946 on the USS Gilliam. Tate eloped with Ila Dean Foreman and married her on Sept. 23, 1950, in Hobbs, N.M. He was a wench truck driver for several power line construction companies and he later worked at the Tom Green Water District 1 until retiring in 1989. Tate was a faithful member of Belmore Baptist church until his failing health prevented his attendance. Tate was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Pauline. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ila Dean Tate; his daughters, Donna Keese and husband George of Sonora, Texas, Sherry Cooper and husband Ray of San Angelo, Texas, Sandra Benson of Sadler, Texas and Rhonda Reed and husband Dan of Veribest, Texas, their eight grandchildren, Jimmy Keese, Dawn Roubison, Amanda Berrie, James Tate (JT) Cooper, Bambi Pelzel, Shane Benson, Amber Palmer and Nicole Hamilton; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Thompson and husband JT of Valera, Texas; and three nieces. Family visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Belmore Baptist Church with burial to follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Buddy Walker, Frank Meyers, Cloyd Burson, Ronnie Neighbors, Truman Richey and Greg Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be his Friendship Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Belmore Baptist Church, Hospice of San Angelo, or the Lighthouse for the Blind.
