Tuesday's Knickerbocker Road Hit-and-Run Suspect Remains At-Large

The suspect involved in the hit-and-run on Knickerbocker Road early Tuesday morning remains at-large, San Angelo police said Thursday afternoon.

The female victim of the hit-and-run crash remains in the hospital in Dallas “under observation” police said. Her injuries are severe.

She was dragged approximately 150 yards, the length of a 1.5 football fields, at speeds up to 35-40 M.P.H. early Tuesday morning down Knickerbocker Road after getting entangled with a crashed vehicle that was seemingly fleeing the scene.

The suspect was driving a pickup truck towing a rust-colored trailer. On the trailer was a rust-colored tractor. Police said that witnesses indicated that the pickup was tan in color and was possibly an extended cab or four-door truck.

It was last seen that morning traveling southwest on Knickerbocker Road.

The police said that their investigation has determined that the driver is likely a white male, age 30-50. He has curly, strawberry blonde-colored hair, cut near the middle of his neck. At the time of the crash, he was wearing a blue baseball cap.

The police further said that they are unsure if the driver knows that there was a drag victim attached to his rig when he drove off. If the person thinks it may have been him, they urge him to contact the San Angelo Police Department.
