Solis Maria

Maria De Jesus Solis 69, passed away peacefully surrounded by family members Saturday April 5th 2014 at her residence in San Angelo, Texas. She was born May 20th of 1944 in Suchil, Durango, Mexico to Jose Gonzalez and Caritina Castaneda. She moved to the United States and later married Guadalupe Ray Solis, Sr. of Brady, Texas in April of 1970. 
Maria was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, Tia, and friend with a very big heart. She was always willing to help anyone in need and never asked for anything in return. 
Maria had a smile and laugh that was contagious and was always putting others before herself. She will be greatly miss but never forgotten. 
Maria is survived by two brother's Luis and Francisco Gonzalez, four sisters Juana, Caritina, Eloisa, and Lucila. 
4 children, daughter Leticia Gonzales of Guadalajara, Mexico 
Son, Guadalupe Ray Solis, Jr and wife Jeannie, daughter Sandra Lee Solis, son David Solis and wife Crystal all of San Angelo, Tx 
11 Grandchildren Vanessa, Cedric, James, Bryan, Nyomi, Dominique, David, Luis Aaliyah, Lisa, Jacob and numerous niece's and nephew's whom she loved very much.
She is preceeded in death by her parents Jose Gonzalez and Caritina Castaneda, husband Guadalupe Ray Solis, Sr and siblings. 
Viewing will be held on Monday April 7th @ 2pm at Guiterrez funeral home on Oakes St with rosary @ 7pm. Chapel service's will be held on Tuesday April 8th at 10am with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. 
Paul bearers will be David Solis Jr,Cedric Francis Jr, Danny Pena, James Marroquin, Justin Marcoletti, Jimmy Roman 

The family would like to give a very special thanks to everyone who visited and to Odessey Hospice for the care, support and guidance that they provided.

Zapopan “Popa” Acosta, 81, of San Angelo, passed away on April 4, 2014 in San Angelo
A Rosary will be read at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. Funeral Services will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North.
Survivors include her husband, Jose F. Acosta, two sons, Noe Acosta and Jose I Acosta both of San Angelo; two daughters, Linda Serna of San Angelo and Lydia “Luli” Rausch of Wisconsin. Other survivors include one brother, Jesus Mendez of California and two sisters, Amparo Torres of California and Antonia Guevara of Eagle Pass, TX.

Smith Peyton

Peyton Smith, 5 died on April 1, 2014 following an automobile accident near Eden, Texas. 

Viewing will be 1pm to 5pm on Sunday April 6, 2014 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be 2:00pm on Monday April 7, 2014 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Peyton was born March 16, 2009 in San Angelo, TX., to William Adam and Lindsay (Lamm) Smith. Peyton was a loving and daring child. Dancing on the coffee table was one of his favorite things. Peyton faced many health challenges in his short life but his spirit was never affected. 

Pallbearers will be Justin Haby, Daniel Haby, Jeremy Haby and Cory Doucet. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Marshall and Tyler Lamm. 

He is preceded in death by his great grandparents; Papa J.A. and Betty Smith, grandpa; Randy Goltl Sr., great grandmother; Barbara Lamm 

Survivors include his mother; Lindsay Smith, his father; Adam Smith, brother; Colton Smith, paternal grandfather; Ronnie Smith and wife, Trish, paternal grandmother; Tina Goltl, grandmother; Patricia Shigo, maternal grandparents; Joe and Cathy Lamm, great grandfather; Max Lamm Jr., great grandparents; Roger and Susie Ayres, uncles; Khris Smith and wife, Jessica, Marshall Lamm, Tyler Lamm, Cody Goltl and Randy Goltl Jr., aunts; Krystal Doucet and husband, Cory, Bailey Smith, Stacy Carrasco and numerous cousins. 

Memorial donations may be given to West Texas Rehab at 3001 S Jackson St, San Angelo, TX 76904, Children’s Miracle Network at Shannon Medical Center 120 East Harris Avenue San Angelo, Texas 76903 or Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin at 4900 Mueller, Austin, TX 78723.

Gallegos Preciliano

Preciliano “Pete” Gallegos Jr., 81 our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, left us to begin his new life in his eternal home with his Lord and Savior on Sunday April 6, 2014 with his family at his side. 

Viewing will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Rosary willbe 7:00pm Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. 

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00am Friday, April 11, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Joey Faylona, officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Born in Mertzon on February 22, 1933 to Presiliano Adame and Secundina (Holguin) Gallegos. Pete graduated from San Angelo High School in 1951 and attended San Angelo College. He married Concepcion “Concha” Cruz on April 7, 1956 at St. Mary Catholic Church. 

Pete, a barber for forty-two years was owner of Liberty Barber Shop on Harris Ave. He served his church, St. Mary Catholic Church as a Eucharistic Minister and as an adult alter server. He was a charter member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over fifty years, a member of the Serra Club and a lifetime PTA member. During his career as a barber, Pete met many people who became treasured friends. 

We will remember him as a man of great faith, family values, character and his love of knowledge. 

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Gallegos, Gerard Gallegos, Tomas Gallegos George Gallegos, Homero Elizondo, Rodrigo Gutierrez, Ramon Cruz. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Gilberto Gallegos, a brother in law; Oscar Martinez. 

Survivors include his wife; Concha Gallegos of San Angelo, three daughters; Toni Garcia, Elma Elizondo and husband, Homero, all of San Antonio, Teresa Gallegos of San Angelo, three sons; Gilbert Gallegos and wife, Sylvia, Gerard Gallegos, all of San Angelo, George Gallegos and wife, Angela of Colleyville, TX., sister; Rita Martinez of San Antonio, granddaughters; Analisa Mc Cain and husband, Casey of Plano, Iliana Elizondo and Leana Gallegos and Adriana Elizondo all of San Antonio, Nina Gallegos of Los Angeles, Mishelle Gallegos and grandson; Tomas Gallegos, both of San Angelo, Great granddaughter; Isabella Stone of San Antonio and great grandson; Grant Gilbert Mc Cain of Plano and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. 

Donations in Pete’s honor may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or Diocese of San Angelo Seminary Burse.

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. Ramirez Guadalupe

Guadalupe Flores Ramirez, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday April 4, 2014 at her residence in San Angelo, TX.

She was born on August 23, 1922 to Ignacio and Conception (Garcia) Flores at Normanna, TX. Guadalupe was as a homemaker. She married David Ramirez Sr. in Sinton, Tx.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Guadalupe is survived by, three daughters, Edwina De La Garza and husband, Alfred of Miles, TX, Christina Carrasco and Raul Hernandez of San Angelo, TX, Connie Balleza and husband, Edgar of CA; son, David Ramirez Jr. and wife, Elvira of San Angelo, TX; two sisters, Aurora Ortega of Lubbock, TX, Jesusa Navarro of San Angelo, TX; 23 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

She was preceded in death by father, Ignacio Flores, mother, Conception Garcia Flores, husband, David G Ramirez Sr., daughter, Hope Martinez, son, Ramond Ramirez, brother, Manuel Flores, and two sisters, Dolores Rodriguez and Ignacia Rojas.

Visitation will be held 1:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday April 6, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Rosary services will be 7:00pm Monday April 7, 2014 at the Robert Massie Riverside Chapel.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on 10:00am Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father Joey Faylona, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Deans Lawanda

Lawanda Bingamon Deans, 77, of San Angelo, passed away on Friday April 4, 2014 in San Angelo. 
Visitation will be Sunday April 6, 2014 at the Robert Massie Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with Paul Shero of Southgate Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Voca Cemetery. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home. 

Lawanda was born in Drumright, Oklahoma to Perla and Leona Bingamon on November 30, 1936. She married J. B. Deans, Jr. on March 28, 1980. She worked for Baptist Memorial for 15 years and retired there in 2006. She was a member of Southgate Church of Christ involved in the Ladies Bible Class at her church. 
Lawanda was a devoted wife and cared deeply for her children and grandchildren. The family will miss the coffee conversations in which they shared many common interests. Her love, care and concern for all her family will be sorely missed. Not only was she a dedicated wife and mother, but held an excellent work ethic in any pursuit, not to mention the strong Christian convection she held for the Lord and her church family. 
Lawanda is preceded in death by her son, Roger Cunningham and her parents; Perla and Leona Bingamon. 

Lawanda is survived by her husband, J.B. Deans, Jr.; step-daughters and spouses: Alanda and Charles Beatty of San Angelo, Vicky and Keith McCutchen of San Angelo, Bettye and Dick Halstead of Waxahachie, and Gina and Robert Chaney of San Angelo; a grandson, Roger James Cunningham, step-grandchildren and spouses: Vanessa and Chris Conatser, Brooke and Kyle Sanford, Shawn and Ricky Kozlovsky, Britney and Zach Hanna, Landon and Megan Beatty, Ryan Chaney; step-great grandchildren: Taylor, Kadan, Jett, Addison, Zoey, Aubree, Hazel and Bella. 
Pallbearers will be Charles Beatty, Keith McCutchen, Robert Chaney, Kyle Sanford, Ryan Chaney, Zach Hanna, Ricky Kozlovsky and Dick Halstead. 

Memorial may be given to Southgate Church of Christ Academy and Odyssey Hospice. 

The family of Lawanda Deans wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Odyssey Hospice and especially to nurses Helen and Cynthia who cared for her daily needs with cheerful hearts and loving concern, Southgate Church of Christ for the many cards, visitors, food, for the generous neighbors random acts of kindness, for the daily prayers from friends and family.

Ricker Ann

Ruth Ann (Matlock) Ricker, born August 2, 1922 to her parents Ruth Blanks Matlock and William Tillman Matlock of San Angelo. She passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014.Ann had one older brother Wm. T. Matlock, Jr., who died in 1980 and one younger sister, Julie Holtze and one other brother, Dr. Gibb B. Matlock of Dallas, Texas.
Ann graduated from San Angelo High School and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and San Angelo College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Jr. League of San Angelo, a docent at San Angelo Fine Arts Museum, and Delta Delta Delta sorority.
She is survived by two daughters; Julia Ryon Berg and husband Roy of Lago Vista, Texas, and Rebecca Ryon of San Angelo. She also has two loved grandchildren; David T James III and wife Rose, and Katherine Harding and husband Richard of San Angelo and two great grandsons; Sabestian James and Maximilliano James. A second beloved grandson, Noel James, died in 1898. As well as other nieces, nephews, and friends.
She enjoyed many family and friends, travel, playing bridge, art, antiques, and flower gardens. She worked for many years, civil service in WWII after the death of her first husband, Ben Angell. Then, Neiman Marcus in Dallas, and she had her own gift shop for 12 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 7, 2014 at First United Methodist Church in San Angelo. A private burial will take place following.
