McKay Shirley

Shirley Marie McKay, 87, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. The Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M., - 6:00 P.M., Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Johnson's Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 17, 2014 at Southland Baptist Church with Pastor Taylor Sandlin officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Shirley was born to Frank and Nellie Lossing on October 29, 1926. She was preceded in death by her parents, older sister, Marjorie Mellas, older brother, Bud Lossing, and two infants, Leslie Allen and Sandra Lee. She is survived by her husband Murray "Monk" McKay and her younger sister Lois Jones. On June 22, 1946, after a month of courtship, Shirley married Monk, the love of her life. They spent 67 happy years together, and the fruit of that love was evident with 3 children and spouses, Ronnie McKay and wife Linda, of Katy, TX, Barbara Wood and husband Robert, of Georgetown, TX and Linda Strickland and husband Barney, of Lampasas, TX, 8 grandchildren and spouses, Landon Wood and wife Meggan, Amber Ross and husband Jeremy, Brittany Erbaugh and husband Matt, Justin Strickland and wife Amanda, Keith Strickland and wife Amy, Rick McKay, John McKay and wife Deni and Lisa McKay, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, niece Kate McKay and nephew Homer Mellas, both of whom she graciously took under her wings as her own. She is also survived by other special nieces and nephews. Shirley was a member of the San Angelo Community Hospital Auxiliary and took an active role in volunteering for the community with Meals for the Elderly and numerous other organizations. Her favorite past times were playing games such as Dominos, Bridge, UNO, and most of all Wahoo with family and friends. She loved flowers, hummingbirds, and receiving pictures of her grandchildren. Shirley was known for her blue eyes and silvery white hair loved most by her beloved husband. She loved to talk, share stories, and was always ready for a good laugh. Shirley will be dearly missed by all who knew her but will live on in our hearts forever! Pallbearers for the service will be her grandsons Rick McKay, John McKay, Landon Wood, Justin Strickland, Keith Strickland, Jeremy Ross and Matt Erbaugh. Donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly or Southland Baptist Church.

Martha Ann Rannefeld of San Angelo, Texas, went home on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at home with her family.
A Visitation will be held on Monday March 17, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Johnson's Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 18, 2014 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. 
Martha was born and raised in San Angelo spending most of her life here. Martha married the love of her life Vernon Rannefeld on December 8, 1956 in San Angelo. She worked for Ethicon for many years before retiring. Martha joined the love of her life, Vernon Rannefeld, her husband of 48 years and her daughter, Rhonda De La Rosa. She is survived by her son Mike and Traci Rannefeld of Buchanan Dam; Grandchildren Gary and Kathy Cole of San Angelo, William Rannefeld of San Marcos, Brandie and Zach Schaeffer of Warrenton, Virginia, Gabi and Heath Hanson of Georgetown, JP and Crystal Poe of Georgetown and Andy Poe of Round Rock; Great-grandchildren Arianna Cole of San Angelo, Harper and Hayes Hanson, Kamren, Gavin and Tristan, all from Georgetown, Morgan and Cooper Schaeffer from Warrenton, VA; Siblings Sally and Lee Leland, Norma and Gerald Martin, Johnnie Hasty, Richard and Mary Hasty, and Margaret, all of San Angelo; Mary and David Ryan of Green River, Wyoming, Carol Swaringin of Burnet, Texas,; Brother in-law, Willie Ray and Delia Rannefeld of Eden and many nieces and nephews. Ann had a vivacious character which entertained all she knew and all who knew her will greatly miss her

Jones Janith

The lord welcomed quite a character to heaven on March 14, 2014 when Jan Jones left this world. Janith Van Orden Jones was born on October 9, 1935. She is survived by her brother, Frank Van Orden Jr., of San Francisco, California, son Michael Jones and his wife Kathy, daughter Leslie Kincade and her husband John, daughter in law Rhonda Jones, grandchildren Christopher Jones, Cameron Jones, Sean Kincade, Lucas Kincade, Eric Jones, Courtney Jones, and Camille Jones. Jan was predeceased by her son Charles Jones, Jr. Jan was born in Trinidad, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas Nursing School. She raised her children in Fort Stockton where she had several vocations, including serving as administrator of the local nursing home and President of the Fort Stockton School Board. Jan served as school nurse at San Angelo Central High School for many years. One of Jan's passions was spending time in Honduras, where she supported and staffed a health clinic. Jan collected thousands of pounds of medical supplies from local charities and transported them to Honduras for the treatment and care of those too poor to afford care. Many doctors and dentists joined Jan in her health mission to the people of Honduras. Jan will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday, March 18th, at Johnson's Funeral Home from 6:00PM-8:00PM. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 19th at 10:00AM at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers please make donations to First United Methodist Church.

Cynthia Shahan, 61, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2014. She was born on October 9, 1952, in San Angelo, Texas, to Earl Shahan and Rose Mary Yount Shahan. She was the granddaughter of Otto and Mary Yount and Roy and Gertrude Shahan, all of San Angelo, Texas.
Cynthia graduated in 1970 from Gregory-Portland High School in Portland, Texas, and continued her education at Angelo State University with a B.A. in Music and Piano. She taught music in Texas public schools and has resided in Midland, Texas, since 2003.
Cynthia is survived by her mother, Rose Mary Yount Shahan of Midland, Texas, and father and stepmother Earl and Gail Shahan of San Angelo, Texas; two brothers, David Shahan of Sarasota, Florida, Toby and wife Sue Anne Shahan of Fort Worth, Texas; an aunt, 3 uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many dear friends in Houston, Texas, and at Hillcrest Manor in Midland, Texas.
Graveside services officiated by Rev. Tommy Richardson of Immanual Baptist Church, will be held at Fairmont Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Arrangements are made by Johnsons Funeral Home in San Angelo, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Permian Basin Community Centers, 401 E. Illinois, Suite 401, Midland, TX 79701.
