Acevedo Ernesto

Ernesto Acevedo Sr, 88, of San Angelo, passed away on March 20, 2014 in San Angelo.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, 2014 in the “Memory Chapel” of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/Knickerbocker, 1102 Knickerbocker Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Joey Foylano,pastor, officiating.
Mr. Acevedo was born November 7, 1925 in San Angelo.
Survivors include his wife, Carmel Acevedo of San Angelo, sons; Joe Frank Acevedo of LA., Richard Acevedo and Gabriel Jacques both of Ft. Worth, Ramon Acevedo of Midland,Pilar Acevedo and Ernesto Acevedo Jr. both and San Angelo; one daughter, Sylvia Garza of San Antonio. Other survivors include two brothers, Cruz Acevedo of LA. and Armando Acevedo of San Angelo and one sister Andrea Rodriguez of Abilene, TX

Wallace Shirley

Shirley Mae Wallace, 77, of San Angelo, Texas, was called home to her Father in Heaven Thursay, March 20, 2014. Shirley was born June 12, 1936, in Tarkio, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bruce Wallace, and two daughters Barbara Marlow and Ellen Marie Wallace. Shirley was a homemaker, and had a strong love for her family. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. She worked many jobs to help support her family, and never complained once about it. Shirley was never known to back down from a fight, and even in her final days she fought. 

Shirley is survived by her two children Russ Wallace, his wife Becky Wallace, of Paint Rock, and Sharon Richmond, of Virginia. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Shirley was a strong, fierce, and loving woman. She was a wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma and will be truly missed by many. 

A graveside service will be held Monday the 24th, 2014,10:00 AM, at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice of San Angelo or Rotary House of Hope. 

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Norma Cerna of Shannon Medical Center, Alana of Hospice of San Angelo, Darla and Jill of Rotary House of Hope. The care and compassion of each of these wonderful women is beyond measure.

Hall Ervin

Ervin E. Hall Jr., 88, of Mason City, IA, formerly of San Angelo, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 14, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Johnson's Funeral Home Chapel, 435 W Beauregard Ave, San Angelo, TX, with Pastor Skip Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM on Saturday. Interment will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, 4989 FM Highway 1223, San Angelo. Memorials may be directed to the Ervin Hall memorial fund in care of the family.

Ervin was born February 12, 1926 on a farm near Rock Falls, Iowa, to Ervin and Grace Hall. He graduated from Rock Falls High School. Ervin was an Army World War II Veteran. After discharge he started farming west of Nora Springs, Iowa. 

On Feb. 26, 1950, he married Donna Belle Wood in Nora Springs, Iowa and they were married for 59 years. Ervin and Donna spent 21 happy years farming and raising a family in the Nora Springs and Portland, Iowa area. The family was blessed with many wonderful memories of weekends and holidays filled with laughter with family and church friends. They moved to Texas in 1972 because of Ervin's Federal Meat Inspector job. Because of Ervin's work with the Federal Government they lived in Plainview, Texas, Sweetwater, Texas, Abilene, Texas and San Angelo, Texas. After retiring in San Angelo, Ervin and Donna enjoyed spending time with family and traveling around the United States together. After Donna's death in 2009 Ervin came back to Mason City to live with his son and family and enjoyed his days at the Salvation Army Adult Day Care. 

Ervin is survived by four sons, Thomas and his wife, Becky, of Mason City, Iowa, David and his wife, Nuria, of Abilene, Texas, Chris and his wife, Tammy, of Flower Mound, Texas, and Lonnel Hall, of San Angelo, Texas. Nine Grandchildren, Robert Hall, Jennifer and husband Mark Anderson, Randall and wife Julie Hall, Shanna Hall, Shelby and husband Chandra Dam, Zak Hall, Jordan and wife Trisha Hall, Landon Hall, Taylor Araiza, and twelve Great-Grandchildren. His brother James Hall and wife Beverly, his brother-in law, Stanley Wood and wife, Lucille, sisters-in-law, Ila Rooks, Beryle Williams and her husband, Bill, and Peggy Wynn, and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna, in 2009, his parents, Ervin and Grace Hall. His In-laws Ezra and Maybelle Wood, daughter-in-law Liliana Hall; granddaughter, Melissa Belle Hall; sister Vera and her husband William Thatcher, brother Bill Hall and wife Betty, and brother Merlin Hall, brothers-in-laws, Merle Briggs, Tom Wynne, Howard Rooks, sister-in-law Arvilla Wood and his niece, Janice Briggs.
