Tommy David Albertson

Tommy David Albertson gained his wings and golden golf clubs on December 31, 2023 at 8:08am. Tommy was born on July 9, 1929, to Jefferson and Annie Albertson at home in the oil fields of Mexia, Texas. Tommy was the second of five children. His Dad (Jefferson) worked for Conoco for 27 years. They moved to Eunice, NM for 5 years then to Monument, NM where he finished High School in 1947. He was in the top 10 of his class but it turns out there were nine in his senior class. Tommy’s father passed away his senior year of high school which led Tommy to a early career with Conoco. His career took him throughout Texas and New Mexico which included Monument, Jal, Maljamar, Coleman, Forsan, Ozona, Big Lake, Nocona and Midland. Tommy retired in 1990 after 43 years of service to Conoco finally settling down in Big Lake then San Angelo.

On July 3, 1949, he married Gearldine Ester Hirrill and had three children. Gearldine passed away in January 1973. On August 14, 1973, he married Carolyn Smith and blended their two families. In 1979 Brian David Albertson was born and then adopted into the family, making a total of six children.

Tommy led a very active life which included his love of sports. He started playing golf at 42 where he made many great golfing buddies. On September 28, 1973 while playing a round of golf in Big Lake, Tommy hit a hole-in-one on the 8th Hole. The many stories from these adventures were entertaining and often very colorful. He also loved playing racquet ball, couples’ volleyball and fast pitch softball. Tommy also held onto a plethora of jokes that could always get people to laugh.

Proceeding him in death were his parents Jefferson and Annie, Sisters, Ruby Gillmore, Cleo Scearce, Geneva Smith, First wife Gearldine and Son Duke Albertson. Tommy is survived by wife Carolyn Albertson, daughters Wanda Greenshield, Teresa Siboloro and husband Eddy, Cindy Weatherby, and sons, Randy Smith and wife Krista and Brian and wife Leah. Along with Numerous grandkids and great grands. The family wished to thank High Plains Hospice care with special care given in his last days. Those folks include Mary Kay, Britni, Paige, Stephanie, and Visiting Angels. A very special thanks to Carmen from Comfort Care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity.

The Family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo on Thursday, January 4th at 10:00am. The Graveside Service will be held at Glenn Rest Cemetery in Big Lake on Thursday, January 4th at 2:00pm.

James Bradley "Brad" Spring

James Bradley Spring, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, in San Angelo, TX, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 28, 1938, in St. Joseph, MO, to Bob and Wilma Spring.

During his high school years in Uvalde, Texas, Brad immersed himself in various sports, distinguishing himself in football, basketball, and track.

On December 19th, 1969, Brad united in marriage with the love of his life, Linda Murray. Together, they embarked on a remarkable journey, building a life filled with shared interests, laughter, and enduring companionship. Brad dedicated much of his professional life to Central Power and Light, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. Following retirement, Brad and Linda relocated to San Angelo, where they continued to create cherished memories together.

One of Brad's greatest joys was the time spent participating in antique Rod Runs with Linda, cruising in their beloved 1937 and 1938 Chevys. These classic cars were not merely vehicles; they were vessels for the countless adventures, shared smiles, and the enduring bond between Brad and Linda.

Brad is survived by his loving wife, Linda, who stood by his side throughout their journey. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law, Phil Murray (Susanne) of San Angelo, his brother, Doug (Dru Ann) of Uvalde, and his daughter, Melanie (Jeff) of Cypress, TX. His legacy extends to his grandchildren, Hunter Medlin and Kyle Purdy of Houston, TX, as well as his niece, Reagan King (Josh), and nephews Ryan (Sara) and Douglas Spring of San Antonio, TX.

Preceding Brad in death were his parents, Bob and Wilma Spring, and his stepdaughter, Lisa Purdy. Their memories will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved him.

A memorial service celebrating Brad's life will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Glen Meadows Baptist Church, Concho Hearts Hospice, or The Springs Memory Care.

Allamay Rose Schafer

Allamay Rose Schafer was born in Del Rio Texas on September 11, 1942, the only child of William and Matilde Schafer. She was raised in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from Lake View High School in 1962 and attended Angelo State University. She worked in the microbiology lab at Ethicon, a Johnson and Johnson Company for over 30 years, she retired in 2000.

Allamay was an avid golfer and played in several leagues, she loved her golfing buddies. She was also active in the Genealogy Club, Metal Detecting Club, Historical Society Czech/German Club, and Lake View Ladies Luncheon group. Allamay had a “Sisterhood” of friends for over 65 years who became family as well as a host of other friends.

Allamay leaves behind her beloved nieces Della Doss, Becky Gatlin and Vaundaugh Chenault, from the DFW Metroplex, Cam Schafer and Margaret Ann Schafer both of El Paso, Texas. Also left behind are her “Sisterhood friends” Alice Parrish, Liz Montez, Gloria Kent, and Marion Dannheim. Her Lake View Ladies friends and a host of other friends all adored her.

Preceding her in death are her parents William and Matilde Schafer, her two brothers William and Martin Schafer and Harold and Johnny Halley. Also preceding her in death is her longtime friend Gayle Hovorak.

All who knew Allamay saw her as an outspoken, loyal, kind, compassionate and “bigger than life” friend. Visitation will be at Harper Funeral Home on Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 5pm-7pm and Services will be at the Cowboy Church at 4015 North Chadbourne, at 2 pm on Friday, January 5, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, Allamay would want donations to be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 501 St Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee. 38105.

Francisco "Poncho" Narvaez

Francisco Salazar AKA "Poncho" Narvaez, 81 passed away December 11, 2023, in San Angelo.

No Services at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Narvaez was born October 4, 1942 in Palestiones Viejos, Mexico to Eleno and Juana Narvaez. Poncho has been a resident of San Angelo for 30 years. He worked for Twin Mountain Fence for 10 years, retiring in 2005. Poncho attended St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his friend, Max Guerrero of San Angelo. Poncho was preceded in death by his parents and other family members.

Olga Guajardo

Olga Guajardo, 56, passed away in San Angelo, Tx on December 26, 2023. Born in Austin, Tx on October 19, 1967 to Lorenzo Soto Guajardo and Emerlinda Reyes Guajardo.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother. She was born and raised in Austin, Tx and spent her last 10 months in San Angelo with her daughter and granddaughter. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always called her children and niece back home every day. She always cared for everyone no matter what they needed she would do her best to help. She was a great cook and was always cooking for everyone. She also loved all her cats and all the ones she would see.

Olga is survived by her 3 sisters, one she loved Hope Guajardo, her brothers Joseph Guajardo, Jesse Guajardo, John Guajardo, her children, David DeLaTorre, Christopher DeLaTorre, Evangelina Salvato, Gumaro DeLaTorre Jr, her daughter in law, Anissa Chapa, her son in law Chris Salvato, her Grandchildren Gracie DeLaTorre, Charlie DeLaTorre, Chris DeLaTorre Jr, Evangelina Salvato Jr, and her nieces and nephews, name a few Melinda, Israel, and Kiko.

She is preceded in death by her father Lorenzo Soto Guajardo, her daughter, Gracie Marie Guajardo, and her nephews Guadalupe Guajardo, and Anthony Guajardo.

She was a great friend to many and will be forever missed. We all loved her and one day we will see her again.

No services will be held at this time.

William Ariel Rees

William “Ariel” Rees, age of 38, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

Ariel was born December 3, 1985, in Little Rock, Arkansas to William “Alan” and Virginia (Perkins) Rees. He was homeschooled until 2002, then he got his GED. Ariel grew up in Bartlett, Tennessee until 2011 when he followed his parents to San Angelo, Texas. Ariel enjoyed playing hockey with his team, riding his bike around with neighborhood kids, studying the Bible, and reloading ammunition with his Dad. Ariel had five siblings with one sister-in-law. Rebekah Rees, David Rees and wife Sharon, Sarah Rees, John Rees, and Ben Rees. Ariel met his wife, Sloan Rees at Principal LED back in 2019. They fell in love after dating 3 years and got married on May 21, 2022 in Valera, Texas. They both learned on September 11, 2023 that they were expecting a little girl on their dating anniversary on May 20, 2024.

Ariel attended Southwest Community College in Memphis, Tennessee. Where he got his Paramedic (EMS) license. He really enjoyed his career in working for 911. When he moved to San Angelo, he got his license transferred to Texas, worked in Brownwood and Abilene, Texas. He was a waiter for Applebee’s in San Angelo before he began his full time employment at Principal Sloan. Then in 2020, he began his employment at The Journey Recovery Center (ADACCV) as a Direct Care to follow into managing The Williams House in San Angelo. Wherever Ariel went he always moved up in the company and was well educated. Ariel was very involved in the AA program, enjoyed helping people understand the importance of recovery here in San Angelo, Texas. Ariel was raised up in Christian home and was very fond of RC Sprow, even attended a conference with his Dad to see RC Sprow. He was well educated in politics, and liked to keep up with The National and World News. His main sources were Fox News and Drudge Report. Everywhere Ariel went he never met a stranger and was very well spoken. He was always there to help anyone in need.

Ariel is survived by his wife, Sloan Rees of San Angelo; His children, soon to be, Laramie Rees, step-son Gunner Thurman of Brady, Texas; his parents, William “Alan” and Virginia “Eliane” Rees; his grandmother, June Perkins; his siblings, Rebekah Rees, David Rees, Sarah Rees, John Rees, and Ben Rees; uncles, Bert Lee Perkins and Kenneth A Rees.

Ariel is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack W Perkins, John C Rees, and Bess L Rees; and his three uncles, Jack W Perkins, Jr.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 1, 2023 at Harper Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at Harper Funeral Home and 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at Stewardson Cemetery.

The family wishes for memorial donations to be made to Alcohol & Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley, 3552 W Houston Harte Expy, San Angelo, Texas 76901.

Jude Ch. 1 Verse. 20-21, But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Epifanio "Joe" Estrada

Epifanio "Joe" Estrada, 71, of San Angelo passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023.

Viewing will be from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Robert Massie Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday at Robert Massie Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Hamm, of Cross Roads Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Estrada was born on January 4, 1952 in Abilene to Gregorio and Beatriz Estrada. Joe graduated from Abilene High School in 1972 and attended Cisco Junior College. He worked at Mathis Field painting airplanes for several years. Joe later worked for the City of San Angelo in the traffic control division painting streets. He married Sylvia Robles on October 5, 2002 in Mason, TX. He played the guitar and the 5-string bass in many bands including the Emotions, in Abilene, Black Oak Arkansas, Willie Nelson, G-5 Project, La Lumbre, La Formula, Cellos and Reload. Joe was a member of Survivors United MC for over 20 years. He loved riding and working on motorcycles, and watching wrestling with his grandson, Jr. Joe loved to spend time with his family and was a joy to be around, often telling jokes and stories.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Carmella Estrada in 2015; his son, Robert Robles in 2018; and a granddaughter, Janiya Noelia Martinez in 2015.

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; two daughters, Noemi Estrada of San Angelo and Twila Rose Goshert of Abilene; a son, Joe Robles, Jr. of San Angelo; his five siblings, Manuela Estrada of Abilene, Guadalupe Gutierrez of Abilene, Ramiro Estrada of Anson, Mariana Rivas of Anson, and Nicolas Estrada; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Kenneth "Ken" Michael Raymond

Kenneth (Ken) Michael Raymond, of San Angelo, TX passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 in his residence at the age of 72. He was born on June 5, 1951 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England. His parents were Walter McCollough and Mae (Hannah) McCollough. He was the oldest of four boys.

Ken spent his early childhood in his mother’s hometown of Edinburgh, Scotland. He grew up playing soccer and was rumored to be good enough for the national team. The family moved to the United States and settled in San Angelo, TX in 1965. He graduated from Central High School four years later. He was honored to become a Naturalized Citizen in 1970 and was a proud Texan.

He married Rebecca (Skipper) Raymond in 1971 and they had two children, Cody Raymond and Tammi (Raymond) Sable. He began his career bagging groceries at the local Safe Way as a teenager. He worked his way up to store manager for Winn-Dixie and relocated to the DFW metroplex in 1980. He was with the company nearly 25 years, serving many of those years in DeSoto, TX. He then served as grocery manager for Albertsons in DeSoto for at least 15 years. He returned home to San Angelo in 2003. He then joined Lone Star Truck Group-Corley Freightliner as their Warehouse Manager for over 18 years.

He was a fairly private person, but was loved by his family, coworkers, and neighbors. He was devoted to his family and was so proud and grateful for them. He was a close friend to all his brothers. He loved every chance he got to visit with his kids, grandkids, and great grand kids. Throughout his life, he was an avid collector of Hot Wheels and other model cars. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, when it was running. He loved road trips with family and travelled across much of the United States.

He is survived by former spouse, Becky Raymond and their two children, Cody Raymond, and Tammi (Dallas) Sable. He is lovingly remembered by his two grandchildren, Andre (Diana) Raymond, and Zeek Bartz. Papa Ken will be missed by his three great-grandchildren Asher, Ezra, and Aliah Raymond. He is also survived by his three brothers, Alan McCollough, Brain (Melissa) McCollough, and Doug McCollough and his nieces and nephews: Teri Wendt, Lindsay Wallace, James McCollough, Denver McCollough, Ariana Hasty, Zach McCollough, Lauren McCollough, Hannah Huddleston, and Corbin McCollough.

Ken requested cremation and memorial services will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 2:00pm at Harper Funeral Home, 2606 Southland Blvd, San Angelo, TX 76904. All are welcome to attend.
