Juanitta Driggs, affectionately known as Nitta, born in Hobbs, New Mexico June 21, 1958, passed away peacefully at her home in San Angelo, TX, surrounded by her beloved pets and devoted life partner of almost twenty years, Jeffrey Wayne Mitchel, on March 14, 2025. She was 66 years old.
Arrangements are under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Nitta was a complex and spirited individual, a woman of strong will and independent mind. Her journey through life was marked by both challenge and triumph, and those who knew her well understood the layers of determination and love that defined her character.
She was the devoted mother of two sons, William David and Matthew Denver, who carry forward her legacy. Her family extended to include a daughter in law, Rachael, two grandchildren, Annabelle and Elijah, and great-grandson, Oliver, each of whom she cherished deeply.
Though Nitta could be a difficult woman, her heart was always open to her friends and family. Her love, sometimes tough and often misunderstood, was genuine and unwavering. She was a friend to many, finding joy in shared moments and offering support in times of need.
Her passing leaves a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her, but her spirit and memories will continue to be a source of strength and inspiration. Nitta's sons would like to extend their love and gratitude to Jeffrey Mitchell, for the many years that he lovingly cared for our mom, even as her health declined. We know that she cherished having you with her to walk through the second chapter of her life.
Nitta's life was a testament to the beauty of imperfections and the power of love that transcends them. Her unique presence will be missed yet remembered with affection and gratitude.
May she rest in peace.
