Maria Olmeda Flores

Maria Olemda Flores, of San Angelo, passed away peacefully at her home on May 28,2021 at the young age of 71. She was born on August 9, 1949 in Valle Hermoso, Tamualipas Mexico, to parents, Juan and Valentina Flores. 

Guadalupe R. Pena, was her partner in life for almost 45 years at the time of her death. She loved spending time with her kids, grand-kids and her pets. She was the bar owner of "Las Damas" for over 20 years. Her favorite pass times were shopping at Goodwill and playing bingo. She never met a stranger. 

Maria is survived by her partner, Guadalupe R. Pena, her brother, Buenaventura Flores and wife, Fausta Flores, her kids, Maria "Lupe" Puente, Bertha Urteaga and husband, Juan Urteaga, Janie Flores, Martin Flores, Joe Pena, Juan Pena and wife, Nikki Pena, and Alex Lopez and grandkids, who she called "mis hijos". She is proceeded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Celia Casillas and Estefana Lopez, and two brothers, Lolo Flores and Felix Flores. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home located at 2606 Southland Blvd. We ask that everyone not wear your traditional black color, but green, as this was her favorite color.

Frances Juanita McAlpine

Frances Juanita “Nita” McAlpine was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on May 28th, 2021 at the age of 92. Nita was born on April 27, 1929 in Eola, Texas to William Gilbert “Gibby” and Lola Biggs McAlpine. She was the fifth of six children. Nita graduated from Eldorado high school. She began her career in base supply at Goodfellow Air Force Base in 1951 and continued working there forty years until her retirement in 1991. While at Goodfellow, she received many awards including the Civilian of the Year award in 1984. 
Family and her love for Jesus Christ were the most important things in Nita’s life. At an early age, Nita professed her faith in Jesus Christ. She was a member of Park Heights Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and as a member of the fellowship/hospitality committee. Nita never had any children, instead loving each of her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She was the aunt everyone wished they had. She continued this love for her family with her great-nieces and nephews and even her great-great-nieces and nephews.  
Nita was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Ella Mildred McAlpine; Fay Crider and her husband Roy; Wesley McAlpine and his wife Mary; William “Pat” McAlpine; and Harlan McAlpine. She is also preceded in death by her special cousin, friend, and shopping partner, Chloe Jane Hill. 
Nita’s beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family, including her nieces and nephews, William “Mike” McAlpine and his wife Kathy of San Angelo, Texas; Rick Crider and his wife Mona of Plano, Texas; Mary Frances Pryor and her husband Lynn of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; DeAnn Salehi and her husband Jeff of Midland, Texas; Susan McAlpine and her husband Sam Kent of Sonora, Texas; and Barney McAlpine of Eldorado, Texas. Nita is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, Missy Terrell and her husband Doug of San Angelo, Texas; Jacqueline Crider and her husband Michael Backes of Lewisville, Texas; Richard Crider and his wife Laura of Richardson, Texas; Daniel Pryor of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Greg Pryor of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Cameron Kelly and her husband Winston of Telluride, Colorado; Hazel Kent of Sonora , Texas; Lillian Kent of Sonora , Texas; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. 
Nita also had a special family bond with the Biggs, Danford, and Ratliff families. 
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the chapel at Harper Funeral Home and will be officiated by Lynn Pryor. Family will be available for visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Regency House and Hospice of San Angelo for their loving care of Nita during her final days. 
She asked for so little but gave so very much in return.

JoAnn Williams

JoAnn Williams passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 66. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 10 am at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. She was born August 27, 1954, in Falfurrias, Texas and passed away on May 28, 2021. We rejoice in knowing she is healthy, happy, and reunited with her husband and parents in heaven with the Lord.  
She enjoyed watching TV, playing on her IPAD, and cuddling with her cat named "Baby Girl". Her greatest joy was visiting with her sons, daughter-in-law, granddaughters, siblings, and their family, as well as the wonderful people who delivered her meals from Meals for the Elderly. She was loved by all who knew her. 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ruby Weston, and her husband, Mark Williams. JoAnn is survived by her sons, Richard Wadley and wife Michelle of San Angelo, and David Wadley of Silverdale, Washington; Grandchildren, Alexis Wadley of San Diego, California, Miranda, Maddie, and Ella Wadley of San Angelo; Siblings, Wayne Weston, and wife Neena of DeSoto, Texas, Linda Compton of Hobbs, New Mexico, Patty Rush and husband Otis of San Angelo, nieces and nephew, and great nieces and great nephews. Sandra Dell Elliott Harrison

Sandra Dell Elliott Harrison, 70, of San Angelo passed from this life into eternal life on May 25, 2021. “Sandy” was born to Roy and Audell Elliott on December 1, 1950 in San Angelo, Texas. She married the love of her life, Fred Harrison, and just celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. 
Sandy worked for Qualtrust Credit Union and retired as Vice President of Cash Operations after 42 years of service. She served with Glen Meadows Baptist Church on foreign missions in Mexico with her family, Tamara and Jarvis Letcher and grandchildren, Paige and Jacob. The highlight of her travels was to the Holy Land with her daughter, Tamara, and son-in-law, Jarvis. Sandy was humorous and loved family. She was talented in crafts and handwork, which she shared freely. 
Sandy is survived by her husband, Fred Harrison, daughter, Tamara Letcher, son-in-law, Jarvis Letcher, granddaughter, Paige Letcher and fiancé Casey Westmoreland, grandson, Jacob Letcher, sisters Sharon Hollis and husband Billy, Linda Blalack and fiancé Larry Hill, and brother James Elliott, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew and many beloved friends. She had a special place in her heart for pets Tina Marie and Mi Novia. 
Scott Cotton is officiant for the service. Pallbearers are Jacob Letcher, Heath Elliott, Garrett Blackwell, Casey Westmoreland, Larry Hill, and Kurtis Well. 
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Harper Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

HJ "Mickey" Sallee

It is with much sadness, we report the passing of our precious husband and father. After struggling with heart failure, Mickey passed into the arms of the Lord and savior, Jesus Christ on May 22, 2021. 
Mickey was born in Brady, TX on September 12, 1934 to Aaron and Annie Behrens Sallee. The family, which included his older brother Bill, moved to San Angelo in 1945. He went all through school here and graduated from San Angelo High School, where he excelled in football, with the class of 1953. After graduation he attended college at the University of Texas. He later joined the Army and spent three years in Japan. After his discharge, he returned to San Angelo and married Colleen Fitzgerald. They had two sons, Craig Sallee and Col Sallee. During this time he started work at San Angelo Savings and Loan where he worked his way up to the position of Chairman of the Board. Mickey was credited with the building of several motels and restaurants here and in Waco, TX. 
In 1983, he married his “Little Darling” Robbie and became a wonderful father to her two sons, Chris Coker and Mitch Coker. Mickey and Robbie moved to Dallas in 1984 and spent years away until moving back to San Angelo in 1998. They celebrated 38 years of marriage on the anniversary of March 5, 1983. 
Mickey was one of those people that could be said “to know him was to love him.” His family adored him and he truly loved us too. His family and many friends will miss him terribly. His smile and quick wit will be remembered always. His memory will be cherished by his wife, four sons, six grandchildren and several great grandchildren. 
Mickey was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. Please make any donations in Mickey’s name to Rust Street Ministries, 803 Rust St. San Angelo, TX 76903. 
Due to Several circumstances a celebration of Mickey’s life will be held at a later date. 
My darling Mickey, we’ll see you on the other side.

Fayette Claude Tankersley, 90, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, in San Angelo.

Public viewing will be from 9:00 AM until 8:00 PM Monday, May 31, 2021, at Robert Massie Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Mertzon Cemetery under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Mr. Tankersley was born June 27, 1930 in San Angelo. He was born and raised in Mertzon where he was a 1948 graduate of Mertzon High School. Fayette married Eula Marie Meers on December 21, 1951 in Pampa. Fayette received his BA in Commerce from Texas Christian University in 1959 and was a member of the TCU Alumni Association. Fayette was a veteran of the US Army serving for a 2-year period from 1951 and honorably discharged in 1953. He worked for Texaco Oil and Gas Co., Southland Royalty Oil Co., Texas Crude Oil Co., and Anadarko Petroleum Co. as an accountant. Fayette was a member of the First Christian Church in Mertzon. He loved to go camping, boating, water skiing, dancing, motorcycle riding, and golfing.

Survivors include his wife, Eula Marie Tankersley of the home; two sons, Jim Tankersley of Mertzon, and Bill Tankersley and wife Margie of Justin; a brother, Loye Tankersley and wife Lynn of Mertzon; a sister, Annette Williams and husband Roy of Mertzon; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Fayette was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Mae Dell Tankersley; and a brother, Jackson Loye "Jackie" Tankersley.
