ABILENE, TX – Taylor County will be well represented at the 2021 Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest with Abilene native Sophia DeVita.
DeVita is a professional competitive eater that is currently ranked #33 in the world by the Major League Eating.
Her career began in 2016 when DeVita placed 8th at the International Hot Dog Eating Contest.
DeVita then went on to become a Nathan's Famous Qualifier by eating 16.25 hotdogs. She would go on to win the Ladies division in Queens, New York.
In 2020, DeVita went on to place third at the Nathan's Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest by eating 15 hotdogs.
The 2021 contest will be broadcasted on ESPN on July 4th.
