Juanita Garcia, 83, of San Angelo, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in San Angelo. 
A Rosary will be read at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. Funeral Mass will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. 
Survivors include her husband, Pedro Garcia, of San Angelo; two sons, Pedro Garcia Jr. and Jesse Garcia both of San Angelo, five daughters, Francis Ponce, Eva Trejo, Maria Ellen Garcia, Bertha Garcia all of San Angelo and Lydia Garcia of Eugene, OR. Other survivors include one brother, Ernesto Hernandez and one sister Virginia Torres both of San Angelo

Felipe Y. DeHoyos, 68, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2014 in San Angelo. The Rosary will be 5:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 23, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Felipe was born May 26, 1945 in Victoria, Texas to Edward DeHoyos and Angelita Y'Barra DeHoyos. He worked as a custodian for Wall Independent School District for many years before moving on to become a commercial bus driver. He drove school busses and worked for the Greyhound bus lines for over 30 years before his retirement. Felipe was a loving father and grandfather who adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. He loved watching wrestling and baseball and in his spare time he enjoyed taking walks and collecting cans. Felipe was a very fun loving man with a tremendous sense of humor and he was also very passionate about everything in life. Although he will be dearly missed his love will remain in our hearts forever. 
Felipe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Martha DeHoyos, one brother, Leborio DeHoyos and two sisters, Anna Reyes and Rita Gutierrez. He is survived by children Felipe DeHoyos, Jr., Rachel Cadena and her husband Jose, Lupe Vasquez and her husband Fernando, Elisa DeHoyos and her husband Miguel Vasquez and Edward DeHoyos and his wife Jessica; his grandchildren Orlando DeHoyos, Augustine DeHoyos, Luciano DeHoyos, Mariana DeHoyos, Johnny Joe Cadena, Cristina Cadena, Fernando Vasquez, Jr., Blanca Vasquez, Alyssa Vasquez, Valeria Duenez, Rogelio Duenez, Martha Duenez, Jose Duenez and Edward DeHoyos, Jr; his Great Grandchildren, Tamika Villareal, Jose Vasquez and Jaelyn Vasquez; his Brother, Sylvester DeHoyos; and his sister, Lollie Gonzales. Pallbearers for the service will be Fernando Vasquez, Jr., Orlando DeHoyos, Augustine DeHoyos, Steven DeHoyos, Robert Martinez, Mario Reyes.

Cornell Harriet Sue

Harriett Sue Cornell was born Harriett Sue Davis November 26, 1922 in Spur, Texas.
She was the second of four children of Lee W. and Estelle Davis.
She was raised in a ranch in East Garza County, Texas; attended high school in Post, Texas and college at West Texas State College in Canyon, Texas.
Sue met and eventually married Jess M. Cornell in 1941. They had three sons; J. Michael, a vascular surgeon in San Angelo, L.D. (Pat), a real estate developer in Fort Worth, and Donnie, a rancher in Garza County, Texas.
Sue passed peacefully on January 19, 2014 at the age of 91, in San Angelo, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Jessie in 1983, her parents, a brother and a sister. 
She is survived by her three sons and their wives, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She has one remaining brother; L.W. (Bud) Davis Jr. and his wife of Post, Texas. 
She is also survived by hundreds of her other children she taught in Post as a public schoolteacher for 35 years. 
Sue received her B.S. in Education at Texas Tech University in 1960 and also had a master's degree in Special Education and another master's degree in Library Science. She received multiple teaching awards and recognitions for her dedicated work. 
Jess and Sue traveled extensively prior to his early death and afterward she traveled with friends for many years. 
She retired in 1994 and moved to Kerrville, Texas and finally moved to San Angelo in 2004 to be near family. 
She was a master bridge player and was an awesome game person throughout her life. She loved reading and music and had tremendous book and music collections. She also loved costume jewelry and maintained a tremendous collection of pieces to the end. 
Even as her eyesight began to fail, Sue would always try to dress elegantly. 
She will be interned next to her beloved Jessie at Terrace Cemetery in Post, Texas. A quiet graveside service will be planned by her family with a date to be determined later. 
Special thanks go to The Springs at San Angelo and Odyssey Hospice that made her last days safe and comfortable. A special thanks goes to her beloved physician Carl "Dusty" Anderton for ten years of dedicated fantastic care. 
Most of all thanks go to her daughter-in-law Lois Cornell for her love and care for ten long years. 
We will miss Suebaby but will have years of fond memories.

Oppert Joseph Eugene

Joseph Eugene Oppert, 83, of San Angelo died Sunday, January 5, 2014 in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, January 24th in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Johnson's Funeral Home.
Joseph was born March 5, 1930 in Knoxville, TN. to Lawrence R. and Bessie (Smith) Oppert.
Joseph was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church.
Survivors are one nephew Ralph Oppert and wife Pam of Mesquite, TX.; his care giver Debra and Bobby Smith of San Angelo and many friends.
