Sesar Urias Reina, Jr., 42, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015, in San Angelo, Texas. He was born October 2, 1972, in Dallas, Texas, to Sesar Urias Reina, Sr. and Rosie Castillo.

Sesar is survived by his wife, Terry Reina; son, Sesar Robert Reina; daughter, Serena Rene Reina; parents, Sesar U. Reina, Sr. and Rosie Castillo Huff; brothers, Samuel G. Reina and Salvador Chavarria; and sister, Gloria R. Cassio.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 29, 2015, from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Gutierrez Funeral Chapels/North. A Prayer Service is scheduled for 7:00 P.M. that evening.

Evelyn Marie Bailey Geffers age 83 of San Angelo, went peacefully to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 24, 2015. Jesus came to get Evelyn while she was surrounded by family, listening to her favorite gospel song “The Old Rugged Cross.”
Evelyn was born in the town of Scio, New York on April 10, 1931 to the late Clarence Oliver Bailey and Letha Mildred Taylor Bailey. In 1949 Evelyn married the love of her life, Paul Geffers, and they were fortunate enough to have sixty-five wonderful years together.
Evelyn’s devotion for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was like none other. Her passion for animals was one of a kind. However, her love of God was unprecedented. Evelyn loved everyone and anything that God created and welcomed them with open arms.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Paul Geffers of San Angelo; son Paul Geffers of Dillon, Co; daughter Melody Naylor of Carlsbad, Tx; daughter Victoria Mackey of Mineola, Tx; and son Kevin Geffers of San Angelo, Tx. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren include: C.J Naylor of Carlsbad, Tx; Mandi Glass of Jarrell, Tx; Josh Geffers of Keystone, Co; Chelsea Geffers of San Angelo; Travis Burke of Mineola, Tx; Kevin Geffers of San Angelo, Tx and Scotty Burke of Mineola, Tx.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved first born granddaughter Crystal Lawless.

Evelyn was born the eldest of ten children. She is survived by two brothers, Phil Bailey of San Angelo, Charles Bailey of Mertzon; and six sisters, Frieda Doss of Broken Arrow, Okla; Vergie Doss and Lois Sanders both of Grape Creek, Gertrude Rodgers, Bonnie Parker and Mildred Burns, all of San Angelo.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her sister Donna Field. Evelyn had a very special bond with each and every one of her brothers and sisters.

Billie James Cole passed away peacefully on January 22, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family.
Bill was born on October 19, 1925 to Eugene Bennett Cole and Minnie Mae Cheshire Cole in Coleman, Texas.

Bill served for two years (1944-1946) in the United States Air Force with the 65th Bombardment Squadron (aka the “Lucky Dicers”) as a Staff Sergeant. During his service, he saw action in Japan, China, Philippines, Luzon and Western Pacific. His airplane was shot down and four of his crewman did not survive.
Bill received his high school degree from Langley High School during basic training. After the war, he married Jamie Sue McEntire on July 17, 1947 in San Angelo, Texas and moved to Oklahoma to attend the University of Oklahoma to acquire a degree in Geology, while working two jobs to support his family.
After college, Bill worked as a geologist in Lovington, New Mexico for a year, but decided to move back to Sterling City, Texas where he owned Cole Butane and Appliance Company for several years. In 1963, he built Cole Feed Lot which had a capacity of 32,000 sheep in Sterling City. In 1969, Custom Skin Company was established in San Angelo, Texas which was a salting and drying operation for sheepskins which he later sold to his son, Jim.

Bill began his ranching career by leasing several ranches, running sheep and cattle with operations spread over Texas, Colorado, California and Nevada. Eventually, he became one of the single largest individual producers of sheep and wool within the United States and was even mentioned in the Wall Street Journal. He later bought ranches in Crockett, Glasscock, Sterling, Schleicher and Val Verde counties on which he ran his livestock. Bill’s favorite saying was “If you’re fortunate to acquire a piece of land leave it better than you found it.” He received the Outstanding Conservation Rancher award from Crockett County in 2005. Bill continued his conservation on all of his ranches through good brush management, wildlife management and erosion control.

Bill is preceded in death by both of his parents, Minnie Mae Cheshire and Eugene Bennett Cole, his brothers, Alvie Lee Cole and Willard Eugene Cole, and his beloved wife, Jamie Sue Cole.

He is survived his sons James Willard Cole and his wife Virginia, and Phillip Eugene Cole and wife Sandy of San Angelo, TX, and his daughter Carolyn Cole Bloodworth and husband Bert of Midland, TX as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tammye Cole Jackson, her husband Matt and her children Jake, Annaleigh and Christiana; Misty Cole Keeney, her husband Monty and her children Mason and Myles; Holly Cole Brannan, her husband Tim and her children Nixon, Jackson and Hayes; Cole Lee Bloodworth, his wife Megan and his children Patrick and Bennett; James Sterling Cole, his wife Alicia and his children Sutton and Sloan; Allen Rice Bloodworth; James Wesley Cole; Amanda Sue Cole; his sister Myrna Cameron of Las Vegas, NV and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who made him comfortable during his last years: Michelle Oberson, Delia Ybarra, Sara Martinez, Alma De La Rosa and Gentiva Hospice.

Visitation will be Saturday from 4-6 pm at his home, 1930 South Concho Drive, San Angelo, Texas. Graveside services will be January 25, 2015 at 3 pm in the Montvale Cemetery in Sterling City, Texas. Services are under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.

Arthur Davis Howard passed from this life into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Shannon Hospital Jan. 25, 2015, at the age of 84.He was born Jan. 5, 1931, to Alvin S. and Geneva Howard, in Temple, Texas. Arthur grew up as a young boy on a farm in Cedar Creek. He spent the first 11 years of his life helping his father chop cedar and hunt squirrels.A memorial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Johnson Street Church of Christ. The family will have a private service in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Johnson's Funeral Home.Arthur graduated from Temple High School in 1948, and attended Temple Junior College for two years. He soon met the love of his life, Ethelyn Vanderveer and they married in 1950.In 1952, Arthur enlisted into the United States Air Force. Arthur and Ethelyn were stationed in Wichita Falls, El Paso and Champaign, Illinois, where their first son, Paul was born. They then went to Honolulu, Hawaii, for 18 months. Arthur was very proud of his service to his country.When Arthur separated from the military in 1956, he began working for Sherwin-Williams in Temple. In 1957, a second son was born, Stephen. Arthur worked hard and the manager noticed this. He offered him a manager position in San Angelo, Texas.After a few years Arthur was hired to manage Young Paint & Supply. He became a partner soon after and eventually became the owner of the company. He owned and operated the business until 2003, when he retired.Arthur is survived by his wife, Ethelyn of San Angelo, Texas; sons Paul and wife Kim, also of San Angelo, Stephen and wife Tina of Longview, Texas; brother Stanley and wife Mary Lou of Arlington, Texas; sister Sherry and husband Anthony of Temple, Texas: three grandchildren, Brandon and wife Erin of Keller, Texas, Alex and wife Laura of Austin, Texas and Nicholas Howard of San Angelo, Texas; four great-grandchildren, Faith, Ben and Sidney Howard of Keller, Texas, Norah Howard of Austin, Texas, and soon-to-be-born Jasmine of San Angelo, Texas.The family would like to thank the staff of 4 South and 6 West at Shannon Hospital for their care and kindness. Bertha D. Balkum, 95, of San Angelo, passed away on January 23, 2015 at her residence.

Viewing will be held Monday, January 26, 2015, from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm at Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at 1:00 pm at the Sherwood Cemetery with Rev. J. T. Tucker, officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Bertha was born on July 9, 1919 to William and Martha (Beyer) Dietz in Menard, TX. She graduated from High School in Menard. Bertha worked as a Dorm Charge for San Angelo State School in Carlsbad. She married Wilmer R. Balkum in San Angelo, Wilmer preceded her in death.

She was preceded in death by her father, William H Dietz, mother, Martha Dietz, husband, Wilmer R. Balkum, daughter, Emmie Word, granddaughter, Vickie Kuykendall, great-grandson, Lonnie Kuykendall, sister, Emmie Schibie and a brother, Albert Dietz.

Bertha is survived by her son, F. W. "Bud" Word of San Angelo; great-grandson, Chuck and wife, Deanna Kuykendall of McKinney; grandson-in-law, Dewayne Kuykendall of Carlsbad, TX.

Norma Luera Bosch-Suero, 46, of San Angelo, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2015, in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Another funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, in Robert Massie Riverside Chapel. Arrangements are with Robert Massie Funeral Home.

Norma was born on June 2, 1968, to Richard and Luisa (Salazar) Luera in San Angelo. She graduated from Central High School.

She was preceded in death by husband Diego Bosch-Suero.

Norma is survived by her son, Richard Bosch-Suero and his wife, Bianca of San Angelo; daughter I'sa Bosch-Suero of San Angelo; parents Richard and Luisa Luera of San Angelo; grandson Santino Bosch-Suero of San Angelo; and sisters Mildred Gonzales of Midland and Melinda Rodriguez of Harlingen.
