Ben Hubert, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Family graveside service will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. A reception and celebration of Bob's life will be held at Royal Estates on Friday, Nov 20th at 2 p.m. Bob was born in Corsicana, Texas to Jethro V. and Anna Mae Williams on March 20, 1921. He had 5 siblings (4 brothers and 1 sister). He is survived by his 2 children; his daughter, Nancy L. Vincent and son-in-law, Drexell S. Vincent of San Angelo; his son, Robert W. Fairchild and daughter-in-law Marty Fairchild of Lawrence, Kansas; and his 9 grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren. Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Helen Williams. At the age of 31, Bob attended San Angelo College and graduated in 1952. After graduating, he began training at the San Angelo Hospital Lab where he went on to become Chief Technologist until his retirement in 1983. He was also in charge of the Shannon School of Medical Technology from 1958-1971. He retired from Shannon to care for his beloved first wife, Thyra, until the time of her passing in 1987. On August 11, 1990, Bob married Helen P. Fairchild and he remained her faithful friend and loving companion for over 17 years until her passing. Bob was a master Mason and a faithful member of First Christian Church. Bob never passed up the opportunity to play a hand of bridge or a round of golf, which he enjoyed well into his 80s. He and Helen loved traveling and valued the many friendships they made at both Rio Concho West and Royal Estates. Bob affectionately considered each one of Helen's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren his own, and he became a valuable and beloved part of the family. Our Bob was the finest example of kindness and gentleness, and our lives are better thanks to his quick wit, loyalty, and love! After 94 years of a life well-lived, he can enjoy the fruits of his labor in his Heavenly home. Serving as pallbearers will be 6 of Bob's great grandsons; Will Vincent, Cal Vincent, Beau Scott, J. Bryan Vincent, Reid Scott, and Ben Scott. The family requests that all memorials be made to First Christian Church of San Angelo.
