Mary Christine Bowser, 70, died July 20, 2015. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
She is survived by her mother, Katherine Marsh of San Angelo; husband, Glenn F. Bowser of San Angelo; sons, Brian Evan Painter and Kevin Eric Painter both of San Angelo; daughter, Debra Lynn Painter of San Angelo; brother, Johny Marsh of Arizona; sisters, Katherine Alexander of Houston and Karen Yates of Austin.

Jimmy O Briant

Jimmy Charles O’Briant, 79, died Sunday, July 19, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Shaffer Funeral Home’s Sherwood Way Chapel. Arrangements are by Shaffer Funeral Home/Sherwood Way.
He is survived by his wife, June O’Briant of San Angelo; son, Kurt O’Briant of Midland; daughters, Carla McClaugherty of Woodlands and Marquita Fields of San Angelo; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Lillian Mae Pagel

Lillian Mae Motl Pagel, 94, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 18, 2015.

Services will be held Friday, July 24th at 10 am at Wall Brethren Church in Wall, TX, and Saturday, July 25th at 11 am at Ocker Brethren Church east of Temple, TX, with interment immediately following at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery near Barclay, TX.

Lillian was born on December 11, 1920 on a farm near Miles to Vince and Frances Bedrich Motl. The family lived there until 1924 when they moved to Bell County. She was one of five children and grew up on a cotton farm east of Temple. She attended Thompson and Oenaville schools and Rosebud High School. As a child, Lillian attended Ocker Brethren Church were she was confirmed in the Czech language.

Lillian returned to Temple in 1943 and married Louis Pagel Jr. on April 1, 1945, in Terry's Chapel Lutheran Church in Barclay. They had one daughter, Delores Diane Pagel Bounds.

She spent numerous years employed by A&P, Bonham School and Ponca Candy Company. For 10 years, the Pagels owned and operated The Learning Tree Day Care Center in Temple. Lillian loved people and always took pride in doing a good job and serving others.

Louis became ill with cancer in 1990, so the couple and their daughter and her family moved to Houston to be near the medical center. During that time Lillian and Delores opened a day care business in their home.

Lillian was "Granny" to many young children. Her fun personality, small stature and overwhelming love for children made her popular among the youngsters. She and her sister, Evelyn, enjoyed babysitting when both were well into their 80s.

After Louis' death in September 1990 and Delores' death in April 1997, the day care closed and Lillian moved to San Angelo to be near her sister and brother-in-law. Eddie passed away in April 2001, and Lillian moved in with Evelyn and the two shared a home in San Angelo for 10 ½ years. They enjoyed going to church together, dominoes gardening, yard work, sewing, canning beets and pickles, making picante sauce, attending Polka dances in Wall, cooking, taking trips with Evelyn's children, Chris and Joyce, and hiding things from each other.

Aunt Lil was most in her element when she was sitting in a deer blind or hunting with her Winchester 20 gauge shotgun, on a dock with a fishing pole, or on the porch trying to catch dove while drinking a Miller Lite that she opened at 9 am that morning which she sipped on all day. She never had a negative word to say about anyone and loved to visit with friends and neighbors. Pets and animals were always a special part of her life.

Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, one brother Charles Motl and three sisters, Gardeen Sell, Julia Juroska and Evelyn Bubenik and their spouses.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Bridgette Bounds of Pilot Mountain, NC and nieces and nephews, Ernesteen "Tenny" Doan, Joyce (Tim) Piland and Chris (Jackie) Bubenik, all of San Angelo, Darlene (David) Wyatt of Chappell Hill, Roger (Alice) Sell of Littlefield, Carolyn Jones of Hereford, Bill (Genny) Juroska of Troy, Bob (Charlotte) Juroska of Temple, Curtis (Lorraine) Motl of Katy, Sharon Arney of Houston, Charlene (Clifford) Baggett of Iola, their families and numerous other family members.

Lillian was an amazing little lady with an endless sense of humor, undying love for all, and smile that could light up a room. She will be dearly missed by all.

Pallbearers will be Bill Juroska, Bob Juroska, Curtis Motl, Clifford Baggett, Chris Bubenik, David Wyatt, Chance Ames, Danny Piland, Patrick Bubenik, Chase Bubenik, and Eric Schmalbach.

The family would like to thank Maria "Minnie" Garcia for her care of Lillian and special neighbor, Jeri Bodine.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given to Critter Shack Rescue/ Sharon Halfmann, PO Box 192, Wall, TX 76957 or a favorite charity.

Florence Baby Dalton

Florence "Baby" Dalton, 92, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015. Baby was born July 24, 1922, in Wortham, Texas. She married Gordon Dalton, June 23, 1946, in San Angelo, Texas and they just celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary. Baby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and baked the bread for the communion service for approximately 10 years. She had great faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and tremendous love for all of her family. She retired from Monarch Tile after 28 years. She was past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and was active in the Lions Club Auxiliary, Boys Ranch, and Mended Hearts. Baby was a fabulous cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She was always ready to give a helping hand to everyone who needed her. She loved to dance. They were members of La Paloma Dance Club and enjoyed many years of square dancing. Her earlier years with Gordon were filled with various activities such as hunting, fishing, collecting arrowheads, and even hunting rattlesnakes. Baby was preceded in death by parents, Frank Healy, Sr., and Ophelia McMillan Healy, and sisters, Earline Eaves and Gladys Dennis. Survivors include husband, Gordon, brother, Frank Healy, Jr., sister, Nancy Woodard, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Proctor with burial following in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Robert Allison, Bill Eaves, Kelly Eaves, Rex Enochs, Dick Meyer, and Mark Woodard. Honorary Pallbearers
are Charles Dalton, Gilbert Colmenero, Jerry Cornelius, Robert Bodey Langford, and all members of the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club.

Florine H. Strube Gray

Florine H. Strube Gray, 90, of Splendora formerly of Wall, Texas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 17, 2015. Florine was born April 15, 1925, in Olfen, Texas, on the family farm. Her family later moved to Rowena, Texas, and at the age of seven years old she and her family relocated to the family farm in Wall, Texas. Florine attended Wall Schools through the available grades and then commuted into San Angelo graduating from San Angelo High School. She then attended and received her Associate Degree from San Angelo College and started her career in civil service at Mathis Airfield in San Angelo. It was during this time she met and later married the love of her life, Virgil Carl Gray on Sept. 27, 1947. They shared 41 beautiful years of marriage together. Virgil preceded her in death in 1988.

She retired from the civil service after more than 36 years of dedicated service as a retiring as a civilian personnel specialist. Most of all, Florine was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and friends. Flo was a strong, fun-loving and loyal woman. She never met a stranger or shied away from a challenge. She loved talking to people, especially her Bunko group and her quilting club and looked forward to meeting with them each month. Florine was a life member of The Catholic Daughters and also a member of the Nation Association of Federal Retired Employees.

The family would like to thank her good friend, Connie Hall, who stayed with her during the days for the past two years. They laughed, shared stories and had a great time. The family would also like to thank the kind caregivers at Total Loving Care Home, who gave her such great care these past two month as well as the nurses and staff of Altus Hospice of Houston.

Florine was preceded in death by her parents, Alphons and Mathilda Strube; four brothers, Otto, Gilbert, Marvin, and A. W.; and four sisters, Olivia, Alice, Valeria and Cordula.She is survived by her loving family, daughter Genese Gray Bell and her husband, David of Splendora, Texas; her three grandchildren, Hayden Bell, Grayson Bell and Erin Bell, all of Splendora, Texas; her brother, Daniel Strube and his wife, Shirlene of Wall, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and close friends.

The rosary will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall, Texas. The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wall with Rev. Joseph Chatoupali as celebrant and great-nephew Rev. Todd Gray officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.Pallbearers for the service will be Hayden Bell, Grayson Bell, Kenny Strube, Kenny Dierschke, Laura Strube, Gail Brown, Betty Jo Wilde and Rev. Todd Gray. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Ambrose Catholic Church Cemetery fund.
