Donald Lee Hughes, 78, of San Angelo, passed away on Saturday November 5, 2016 at his residence.
He was born on November 25, 1937 to Louie and Mae (Evans) Hughes in Joplin, MO. On March 3, 1955, he married Nadine Parker in San Angelo, TX. Donnie worked as a truck driver for most of his life. Donnie was a foster parent of approximately 150 children over the span of 22 years. He loved to hunt and fish, loved to play practical jokes and tease everyone he came across, as well as spend time with his family.
He was a member of Full Gospel Assembly Church.
Donnie is survived by his loving spouse of 61 years, Nadine, three sons, Andy of Dallas, David of San Angelo, Rendon of Wichita, KS; his in-laws, Don and Maxine Whitesell, Beryl, Bobby, and Jerry Parker all of San Angelo, TX; a sister, Sharon K. Barnett of Pittsburg, KS, and host of nieces, nephews, grand children, and great grand children.
He was preceded in death by parents, siblings, Ronald, David, Nancy, and Jackie; and a daughter, Debra Ann Hughes.
Memorial services will be held 11:00am Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Full Gospel Assembly Church with L. C. Messer and Shirley Cheesman, officiating, under the direction of San Angelo Funeral Home
