Dr. George Lee Hill, 82, died on February 2, 2017. He was born in Big Spring, Texas on August 25, 1934 to George Watt Hill and Frankie Florence (Mason) Hill.
Dr. Hill graduated valedictorian of Big Spring High School, Class of 1951. In 1955, he earned his BS degree in Commerce from Texas Christian University, majoring in Personnel Management. While at
TCU, he met his wife Gretta. They were married in Fort Worth in 1955. Post graduation, Dr. Hill was employed in industry for four years, served in the U.S. Army for three years, and then received his Masters in Science with a major in Math from TCU. Fond of his time in Fort Worth, Dr. Hill went on to be a lifelong fan of the TCU Horned Frogs. 
In 1964, the Hills moved to San Angelo, where Dr. Hill taught Math for Angelo State University.
From 1965 – 1972, he traveled during the summers and on weekends to Texas Tech and then the University of Texas at Austin to complete his Ph.D. in Mathematics Education in 1972. Dr. Hill's passion for teaching and math led to a long career in education. In addition to ASU, he taught in the San Angelo public schools as a teacher and the mathematics superintendent; and at Howard College's San Angelo campus.
A loving family man, George and Gretta took great pride in their four children-Gayle, Gina, Gary, and Glenn. Together, they were known as the "6 G's" and could be found at church every Sunday. George was a man of strong faith and had an abundant Christian life. That life led him to his love of gospel music. In his early years in San Angelo, Dr. Hill was a disc jockey for "Sacred Sounds," a gospel radio program every Sunday morning. Listeners would hear him say, "It's your get up and go to Sunday School and Church time" hour. 
His love for singing led him to join the San Angelo Tonesmen. With a special love for gospel music, he also served as music director at the First Baptist Church in Apache OK., Lake View Baptist Church, Menard Baptist Church, and most recently, as the music leader at the First Baptist Church Adult 5 Sunday School department in San Angelo. 
Dr. Hill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Grettalou (Davis) Hill; and children Gayle/Chuck Hodapp, Gina/Danny Morse, Gary/Cheryl Hill, and Glenn/Shelley Hill. "PawPaw" has seven grandchildren, Chas/Megan Hodapp, Emily/Ryan Younker, Jenna and Garrett Hill, Stephanie, Sarah, and Graham Hill. He also has two great-grandchildren, Charlie and Stella Hodapp.
Pallbearers will be George Faulkner, Charlie Bond, Billy Jr. Buford, Basil Jordan, Bo Bond, and Wayne Ferrell. An honorary pallbearer will be Wylie Worthington.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church with burial to follow in Johnson's Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the House of Faith.

Edward Hudson Kerr, II, went to his maker on February 3, 2017. Hudson was 61 years old and is survived by his wife of 27 years, Maggie Banner Kerr, two sons, Edward Hudson “Ward” Kerr, III (24) and Banner Joe Kerr (23). Hudson and his family currently reside in San Angelo, Texas.
Hudson is also survived by his sister, Rosalie Kerr Johnson, of Katy, Texas, brothers Timothy George Kerr of Lubbock, Texas and Thomas James Kerr, of Midland, Texas. Also survived by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Wilson Hardin “Cy” and wife, Sandy Banner, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, William Cy “Chico” and wife, Cynthia Banner and Jesse Lee and wife, Lori Banner, along with 13 nieces and nephews. 
Hudson’s parents, Edward Hudson Kerr, Sr. and Rosella Mitchell Kerr along with his sister, Jeanette Kerr Zachary preceded him in death.
In 1973 Hudson graduated from Sanderson High School where he was raised and in 1978 he graduated from Texas Tech University with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. And in 1982 Hudson received his Professional Engineer (P.E.) status and continued as practicing P.E.
In 2009 Hudson went to work for the Department of Defense at Goodfellow Air force Base. Hudson served as the Flight Chief of the 17th Civil Engineering Squadron, Operations. Hudson was the last President of the Historic Kerr Mercantile Company, Inc. (1901) in Sanderson, Texas. 
A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday January 5, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Angels Catholic Church, at 10:00 AM Monday January 6 with burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Sanderson, TX at 4:00 PM.

Ervin J. Ripple passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born to Jerry F. Ripple and Frances Pollak Ripple on October 26, 1928 in Lowake, Texas. He attended school in Lowake and then transferred to Paint Rock where he graduated in 1946. He received his Associates Degree from San Angelo College.
On June 17, 1948, Ervin married Elizabeth Anne Barkley in San Angelo, Texas. They made their home in San Angelo, where he worked in retail sales and management, starting at Sears and Roebuck, and then Hemphill-Wells which later became Dillard’s Department Store. He retired after forty years of dedicated service.
Ervin was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church for over sixty years. He was a member of Concho Lodge No. 1260, A.F.&A.M. He was also a Past Patron of Concho Chapter No. 826, Order of the Eastern Star.
Ervin was preceded in death by is wife Elizabeth Anne, his parents, and five siblings. 
He is survived by his daughters, Debbie Karschner and husband Gary of San Angelo, and Suzanne Richardson and husband Scott of Trophy Club. He is also survived by granddaughter Cori Walker and husband Court, Cody Karschner, and Ryan Hendricks and wife Samantha. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Taylor Walker, Taygan Walker, Kaitlyn Hendricks, Leila Grace Karschner, Caroline Hendricks, and Savannah Hendricks. He took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Adolph Ripple of San Angelo, and Georgia Warren of Colorado Springs, Colorado. 
Visitation will be at Harper Funeral Home on Friday, February 3, 
5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Graveside services will be Saturday, February 4, at 11:00 A.M. at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Baskin, pastor of St. Luke United Methodist Church officiating. 
Pallbearers are Gary Karschner, Scott Richardson, Cody Karschner, Ryan Hendricks, Court Walker, and Taylor Walker.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Regency House for the wonderful care Ervin received in his last months. 
Special thanks is also given to Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care in his last days, and the comfort they gave to the family.

Dorothy Juanita Rogers, 95 of San Angelo, formerly of Carlsbad, Texas, passed away to be with her heavenly Father on January 27, 2017, while surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow in 2011. She was born March 3, 1921 in ODonnell, Texas. She completed her high school education attending the small farming community schools of New Moore and Pride, Texas. She was employed by the State of Texas at the McKnight State Hospital and retired from San Angelo State School with 25 years of service. She had many good friends there and cherished their friendship very much. 
Mom enjoyed singing at church. Growing up in a family of eight, they would practice their 4 part harmony as a family group. I understand they were very good. Being with mom in worship, I believe this to be true because she could harmonize so well. She played guitar and piano. Had a gift of playing the same by ear. She had a knack for many things including playing baseball. She was left handed, played first and could out play her brother which irritated him to no end. She loved to be with her family on all holidays, vacations to Colorado and at the Noelke Ranch in Sheffield, Texas. She was a very good cook.
Mom and Dad where married 72 years and their family consisted of three children. Melva Weeks (husband Jodie), Darrell Rogers (wife Connie), Dian Noelke (husband Herbert) grand kids, great grand kids and great great grand kids who made up a very loving family. They were loved by many, not only family.
Mom is survived by a sister, Wada Chapman of Fort Worth, Texas
A sister in-law, Madine Hanes of Lubbock, Texas
A brother in-law, Charles Johnson of Lake Brownwood, Texas
Many family members scattered throughout West Texas.
Pallbearers are grand sons and daughters. Debbie Weeks McCabe, Connie Weeks Biggerstaff, Jolene Noelke Moore, Steven Langohr, Jeremy Langohr, Cuatro Noelke, Colt Noelke, Jeffrey Rogers, Keith Rogers, Colby Biggerstaff, Andrew McCabe, and Trenton McCabe.
Honary pallbearers will include all of moms and dads great and great great grand kids.
Mother clothed herself with Christ some 83 years ago. She has lived in Gods Kingdom these many years with faith in what was to come. Moms faith has become sight, she has now met her redeemer face to face. Her race has ended. She won.
A special thanks to the girls that looked after her at Senior Care of San Angelo and Hospice of San Angelo in her last hours.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M., Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 30, 2017 at Southgate Church of Christ with Ed McCorkle and Jodie Weeks officiating. She will be laid to rest next to dad in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens, San Angelo, Texas.

Amelia G. Guajardo, 65, of San Angelo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 26, 2017 in San Angelo surrounded by her loving family. It is with heavy hearts we want to CELEBRATE in saying that our precious Nana WON her battle. We say WON because 26yrs ago on January 26th, her best friend, the father of her children, also went to be with the Lord on this very day, so we know he came for her, for them to be together again. We had the privilege to be told by her, that where she was headed, it was a beautiful place and we know she's dancing pain and cancer FREE now with the love of her earthly life, there with her also holding hands and "chasing each other around the room". 
Nana was born June 27, 1951 in Rio Bravo, Mexico. She grew up in a large, close family and at the young age of 14 married the love of her life, Louis G. Guajardo. They were able to share 25 beautiful years together and raise 4 children before his passing in 1991. Her children are who she lived for. She lived her life doing all she could for them. She may not have ALWAYS been able to express her feelings all the time, but she did so in the best way she knew how to, which was by feeding us her delicious food and teaching us how to cook it. Everyone knew Nana's house had yummy food and she'd ALWAYS offer what she had.
Her legacy of her undying strength will forever live in her children, who fought and stood by her up until the end. Even in her final days, she was focused on them, her children, making sure to tell them to take care of themselves and each other and even then, through all the seriousness, she still managed to make us laugh with her facial expressions. She was a rock for us, teaching us all how to NEVER give up. And she didn't!! She WON this battle and WON the ultimate prize of being with our LORD Jesus Christ. She fought until the very end and for that strength we will always be grateful for because she showed us all how to do the same.
Nana is survived by her children, Louis Guajardo, III, Juanita A. Guajardo, Jose A. Guajardo, and Teresita Aguilar, and her common law husband Eliseo Rodriguez, all of San Angelo; numerous Grandchildren; her Brother, Guadalupe Mojica Gomez, of San Angelo and seven other brothers and sisters who remain in Mexico. 
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. A Celebration of her life will be 4:00 P.M., Monday, January 30, 2017 at Iglesia Metodista Unida Betel, 115 West Avenue O, in San Angelo. A private family burial will be held at a later time. 
We'd like to THANK our family and friends for all the showing of love, with all the texts, phone calls, messages, prayers, sincere condolences, and showing up at Nana's to give us a hug for strength. We will cherish her life and her legacy of love in our hearts forever!

Joan F. Jensen, 89, of San Angelo died Thursday, January 26, 2017 in San Angelo. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday Febuary 5, 2017 at St. Mark Presbyterian Church with rev. Craig Meyers officiating. Joan will be buried beside her beloved husband and near their son at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Harper Funeral Home. 
Joan was born to Dee and Bernice Ferrin in Cherokee, Iowa. After graduation from high school there, she attended Cottey Junior College at Nevada, Mo.
Joan married Robert K. Jensen, also of Cherokee, on November 7, 1947, in the St. Paul Methodist Church. Bob was in the family business until 1956, when they moved to Los Alamos, NM, where they resided 26 years. He worked for the Atomic Energy Commission, and Joan was employed for a number of years at the National Laboratory. Upon retirement, they moved to San Angelo in March, 1982.
Joan attended St. Mark Presbyterian Church in San Angelo as it “felt like home.” She was a member-at-large of D.A.R., belonged to the NM Chapter of Mayflower while living in Los Alamos, and was a member of Chapter FG P.E.O. in San Angelo, having been a member of P.E.O. for over 60 years.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1999, and their son, Robert Reese, in 1982. She is survived by her daughter, Linda J. Burns, and her husband, Michael, of Rail Road Flat, CA. 
Memorials may be made to St. Mark Presbyterian Church or the Humane Society of Tom Green County.

Adrian Andre Velez, 38, of San Angel died on Thursday, January 27, 2017. A private family memorial will be held in the Harper Funeral Home Chapel at a later date.
Mr. Velez was born August 16, 1978 in Nurnburg, Germany. He is survived by his wife Crystal Velez, two sons Adrian Tristan Velez, Desmond Salamanca, his father Henry A. Velez, his mother Sonia Lujan and Step-Father Javier Ramirez, and a brother Gabriel Velez.
