Edward Hudson Kerr, II, went to his maker on February 3, 2017. Hudson was 61 years old and is survived by his wife of 27 years, Maggie Banner Kerr, two sons, Edward Hudson “Ward” Kerr, III (24) and Banner Joe Kerr (23). Hudson and his family currently reside in San Angelo, Texas.
Hudson is also survived by his sister, Rosalie Kerr Johnson, of Katy, Texas, brothers Timothy George Kerr of Lubbock, Texas and Thomas James Kerr, of Midland, Texas. Also survived by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Wilson Hardin “Cy” and wife, Sandy Banner, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, William Cy “Chico” and wife, Cynthia Banner and Jesse Lee and wife, Lori Banner, along with 13 nieces and nephews.
Hudson’s parents, Edward Hudson Kerr, Sr. and Rosella Mitchell Kerr along with his sister, Jeanette Kerr Zachary preceded him in death.
In 1973 Hudson graduated from Sanderson High School where he was raised and in 1978 he graduated from Texas Tech University with his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. And in 1982 Hudson received his Professional Engineer (P.E.) status and continued as practicing P.E.
In 2009 Hudson went to work for the Department of Defense at Goodfellow Air force Base. Hudson served as the Flight Chief of the 17th Civil Engineering Squadron, Operations. Hudson was the last President of the Historic Kerr Mercantile Company, Inc. (1901) in Sanderson, Texas.
A visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday January 5, 2017. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Holy Angels Catholic Church, at 10:00 AM Monday January 6 with burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Sanderson, TX at 4:00 PM.
