Robert Morris Greer, age 92, of San Angelo, passed away Tuesday morning at Shannon Medical Center.

He was born August 13, 1925 in Hardin, Texas the son of William Shirley and Ollie McDaniel Greer. Following graduation from San Angelo Senior High School in 1943, he attended the Electrical Mates Training Course at the University of Kansas in 1944. He later served during W.W. II in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. He married Pauline Clark on November 3, 1946 in San Angelo. She preceded him in death.

He later returned to Goodfellow Air Force Base and retired from Civil Service working as a civil engineer and also did other electrical work in the community. Robert became a Christian at an early age and had been a faithful member of the Foursquare Church and had been an active member of Parkside Community Church serving in many capacities. One of the highlights of his and his wife’s ministry was driving kids to summer church camp in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. That became the family vacation each year.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Greer and Steve Greer both of San Angelo, two daughters, Linda Babitzke and husband Dennis of San Angelo and Sue Burleson and husband Bill of Odessa, six grandchildren, Michael Greer, David Greer, Linsey Simmons, Karla Earnshaw, Brian Burleson, and Troy Burleson. Eight great-grandchildren also survive as well as two sisters, Emma Jean Whitfield of Baytown, and Edith Davis of Mt. Belvieu, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, four sisters, Dorothy, Grace, Lois and Margaret and three brothers, Howard, Floyd, and Gilbert.

A service of remembrance will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 9^th, at the Parkside Community Church with Pastor Don Jackson officiating under the direction of Johnson’s Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at Johnson’s Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens

Lee Chipman DeHoyos, age of 94 years, of Kilgore, TX passed peacefully in the early morning hours of June 5, 2018.

Lee was born in Ozona, Texas on December 17, 1923, to George & Anita Chipman who preceded her in death. She was married to Carlos DeHoyos who preceded her in death in 1983.

Lee was a strong, vibrant woman and a devout Catholic and faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ozona for many years before moving to Kilgore, TX. There she found a church home for the past 13 years at Christ The King Catholic Church.

Lee loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. Her grandchildren spent many summers at her home in Ozona when they were young. Later she would often spend extended periods of time visiting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren wherever they lived. She enjoyed crocheting and made sure each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren received a handmade afghan from her in their school colors for graduation. She also enjoyed embroidery sewing and cooking. Her talents in this area she shared freely and passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her home in Ozona was also known for the large collection of salt and pepper shakers she received as gifts or as reminders of her travels. She was the cornerstone of our family and will be missed beyond belief by not only her family but all those who knew her.

Lee is survived by daughters: Eva Williams (Charles) White Oak, TX; Mary Hernandez (Adam) San Angelo, TX; and son Oscar DeHoyos (Josie) Kilgore, TX. She was blessed with six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A rosary service will be held on Thursday June 7^th at 7 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home in San Angelo, TX. The funeral mass will be held on Friday June 8^th at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ozona, TX with the interment immediately following the mass at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Belva Merle Hanson, age 78 of San Angelo passed from this world into the loving arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family at home on June 6, 2018, after a brief illness.

She was born Belva Merle Blevins October 26, 1939, in Borger, TX to the late George E. (Steve) Blevins and Leona Bell Holman Blevins.

Most of Belva's life was spent in San Angelo where she graduated from Lake View High School. She met and married Jimmy Noel Hanson in 1958, a marriage of 45 years that ended with Jim's passing in 2003.

Belva entered her career in finance right out of high school and soon began working at Central National Bank where she rose from a teller position to Senior Vice President and Controller, becoming well known for her work ethic and business acumen. A product of the times, she became a strong advocate for women's rights in the workplace and being active in the NABW (National Assoc. for Banking Women). She traveled the country in furthering this cause, doing speaking engagements. After retirement, Belva enjoyed a career in consulting for some of the more rural banking institutions in West Texas.

Also being civic minded, she served on the board of directors for Tom Green County Assault Victim Services and greatly enjoyed serving at the Wesley Soup Kitchen.

Belva is preceded in death by her husband Jim and brother, D'Alton Blevins.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Noel Dean and Laura Hanson of Lockhart, Steve and Cheryl Hanson of San Angelo; daughter and son-in-law, Taraleeann and Robert Bradbury of San Antonio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Wayne Cook of San Angelo, Nancy and John Plumley of Lorenzo; sister-in-law, Jean Blevins of San Angelo; grandchildren Joshua Noel Hanson and wife Kristine, Courtney Lynne Salas, Hannah Noel Hanson, Gavin Lane Box. Kiersten Brooke Hanson and Rebecca Lee Ruscitti; great-grandchildren, Kailee Brooke Salas and Makenna Ruth Hanson; many nieces and nephews and a host of great friends, among whom were some very dear to her heart, her weekly card playing group.

Family will receive friends and provide opportunities for stories about Belva on Thursday, June 7 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Harper Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, June 8, at 1:30 p.m. at Sierra Vista United Methodist Church with burial to follow at the Water Valley Cemetery.

Russell Lee Sanders, Jr., 53, of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 1, 2018 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Russell was born to Russell Lee Sr. and Rachel Reaux Sanders on June 13, 1964 in Morgan City, LA. He grew up in Gonzales and graduated from Gonzales High School. After high school, he went to work in the petroleum industry starting out as a rough neck and working his way up to drilling consultant. Over a span of 30 years, he worked for numerous oil companies and traveled various places in the Gulf of Mexico and off the coast of Africa during his career. When the oil business was slow, Russell became a truck driver, eventually developing his own company “Cool Ice Express” trucking company. He enjoyed trucking for many years, eventually selling his business as his demands from the oil field increased. Aside from being a very hard-working man in his life, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who adored his family. In his spare time, he loved to pull pranks on his family and friends and joke around and tell stories about the oil field. He was also very adventurous and loved to be spontaneous and go do things on a whim. Russell loved starting new projects and was a “numbers” guy, always running the numbers in his head for these new projects. Russell didn’t always complete his projects, because of work, but he always knew his family had his back on them. Russell’s sense of adventure, strength, love, laughter and charisma will remain in our hearts forever and we will dearly miss him! He was preceded in death by his father, his daughter, Cassie L. Sanders and three brothers, Bruce Wayne Sanders, Russell Louis Sanders, and Douglas Ray Sanders. Maynard Joseph (MJ) Reinders, 94, of San Angelo died June 1, 2018. Visitation will be Monday, June 4, at 6pm followed by the Rosary at 7 pm at Harper Funeral Home. On Tuesday, June 5, graveside services will be at 10 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas.
Maynard was born on May 22, 1924 in Westphalia, Texas to Henry and Adelia (Hoelscher) Reinders. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Adelia Reinders, sisters Erma Reinders Braman and Carol Reinders, brother-in-laws, Sherman Braman and James Weishuhn and nephew, Richard Braman.
He is survived by his sister, Jerline Weishuhn of San Angelo, and niece, Carol (Jeanie) Weishuhn Holtman (Danny) of San Angelo, nephew, Gary Weishuhn (Joyce) of Paint Rock, Texas and niece, Janet Braman Hayes (Bill) of Afton, Iowa and many great nieces and nephews. MJ was fondly called "Uncle Bubba" by his nieces and nephew that he loved very much.
MJ graduated from Eola High School. After High School he continued to help his Dad farm in the Eola and the San Angelo areas until he joined the military. After he completed his military service, he came home to help his parents and farm once again with his Dad. He also owned and operated a Sinclair gas station in San Angelo. MJ always enjoyed the outdoors and spent most of his life farming and ranching. He also enjoyed his years of working for Producers Livestock Company where he made many friends.

Doris Gwynelle “Gwyn” Tucker, age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, May 29th. She was surrounded by her loving family as she passed from life to life.

Gwyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton B. and Juanita Hodges, her brother, Clayton A. Hodges, her beloved son, Skeeter Tucker, and two infant sons.

“Gigi” was beloved by all who knew her, especially by her seven granddaughters, whom she loved to spoil. She farmed right alongside her husband for many years and helped him with numerous business ventures while raising their family near Miles, Texas.

Her love of Jesus that she shared with all who knew her and especially with her family is her lasting legacy. Gigi could always be found in the very early morning hours sitting with her Bible in her lap, reading and praying. She will be dearly missed, but the family rejoices in knowing that she is in the presence of Jesus.

The family expresses a deep gratitude to her special friend, Mrs. Virginia Lane, for her loving care and also wishes to thank Becky Bookter, Helen Kennedy, the staff of Baptist Retirement Community, and the staff of The Springs Memory Care Facility.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Cecil Tucker, her daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Cleve Moore, and daughter-in-law, Debra Tucker, all of San Angelo, her grandchildren, Brandee Baird of Sonora, Angie Pidgeon of San Angelo, Misty and John Webber of San Angelo, Amy and Allen Dantzler of Benbrook, Tambra and Justin Hollway of San Angelo, Sherry and Trey Clemens of Richardson, Kayla Tucker of San Angelo, and Bobby Baird of San Angelo as well as twenty-two great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held Friday, June 1st, at 10:00 A.M. at Harper Funeral Home. A private family burial will follow.

Ada Lloyd, 98 and 4 days, entered into rest May 29, 2018 at Floresville Nursing Center in Floresville, Texas, after a long battle with dementia.

Ada was born in San Angelo on May 25, 1920 to Eola Holdridge and Collins Canada Morgan. She married Archie Lloyd on July 30, 1939. They shared a great life together until he passed away in 1983.

Ada moved to Elmendorf, Texas in 2009 to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Clarice Lloyd. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Bert Morgan and his wife Sybil, her brother Bill Morgan and his wife Bette, and son, Richard Lloyd.

She is survived by her son, William Lloyd and wife Clarice of Elmendorf, and daughter, Sidney Gayle Jones and husband, Stan, of Edgewood, NM; 5 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and 2 nephews and their families.

First Assembly of God in San Angelo was a very important part of Ada's life where she made many friends and helped with many activities. She made several trips to California and Washington to visit family. Ada was an avid tennis fan and watched all the matches she could. She was so proud of her family and they all loved her and will miss her.

The family would like to thank all the nurses, CMA's, CNA's and the many friends at Floresville Nursing Center for the great care and love they gave Ada.

A visitation will be held Sunday, June 3rd, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home and a graveside service at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens on Monday, June 4th at 10:00 AM with Jim Havlick officiating.

There will be a graveside service to inter the ashes of Ada’s son Richard Lloyd, immediately following her service.

Timothy L. Griffin, 41, our beloved son, brother, uncle, father and friend went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in San Antonio, TX.

Tim was born Nov. 24, 1976, in San Angelo to Roy and Heidi Griffin. Tim was a loving father, an extremely hard worker and a faithful man of God. Tim did have a hard start to this life, and he struggled with many of the consequences of early life decisions.

As Tim came to know God through the studying of the Bible and with God leading the way, he made Jesus his Lord and Savior and was baptized in April of 2017. Tim has been a faithful member of the Mission Point Christian Church in San Antonio every day since. While coming to know and love God, Tim dealt with things responsibly and no one could ever deny his love for his 2 daughters and his right-hand friend Gotti, (his faithful pitbull). His gratitude and perspective of getting a second chance and his example of making the right decisions is just an example of his trust in God’s grace.

Grief will inevitably strike us, but by God’s grace, sorrow does not have to overcome us. Tim is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

Survivors include his mother, Heidi Griffin; two daughters, Makenna and Alyssa Griffin; and one sister Michelle Lloyd. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Tim was preceded in death by his dad Roy Griffin.

A Memorial Services will be 1p.m. Saturday, June 2^nd, at Johnson’s Funeral Home Chapel with Mission Point Christian Church presiding.

Peggy S. Epley passed from this life into the arms of her loving Savior, May 26, 2018. She was born May 7, 1933, in Flag Pond, Tennessee.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sams, her son John Epley, her brother-in-law Lewis Runion, and nephew Mark Runion.

She is survived by her son Mike Epley and wife Gina; one grandson Michael and three granddaughters Sara, Shelby, and Abby; one sister Betty Runion; nephews Tim Runion and wife Bridgett, Jonathan Runion and wife Sara, and their children Cheney and Hendrix, and Andrew Runion and wife Holly, and their child Carter Runion. 

Peggy graduated from Unicoi County High School and East Tennessee University with a degree in Physical Education. She later went back to her high school and taught Physical Education for five years. Later she taught in Hollywood, Florida for nine years. Peggy was a charter member of Southland Baptist Church. She sang in the church choir for many years and was also a deacon for three years.

Peggy was an avid sports fan. She loved the Cowboys, Rangers, and the Mavericks. She also played basketball in high school and played tennis until a few years ago.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cared for neighbors and her church family. She loved to cook, bake, and make pralines.

A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Southland Baptist Church with Jill Fulghum officiating.
