Betty Ann Latham Gibbs, 84, of San Angelo left us to join Christ with loved ones who had gone before on April 20, 2017 in San Angelo. Betty was born January 21, 1933 in Rule, Texas to A.F. and Eula Belle McBroom McMinn. She grew up in Texarkana, Texas and graduated from Texarkana, Texas High School. Betty went on to attend Hardin Simmons University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. She married Hervey Hillman Latham on June 18, 1955 in Texarkana, Texas and they shared 37beautiful years together before his death in 1992 and raised three children, Lu Ann, Elizabeth and Allen. They moved to San Angelo in 1962 and Betty taught for San Angelo Independent School District for 28 years, all of them at Robert E. Lee Junior High School. 
Betty was a proud, and very loud, supporter of the Lee Rebels, once winning the Faculty Spirit Award. She was a longtime member of Park Heights Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and raised her children. Later she and Hervey transferred to Southland Baptist Church. She sang in the choir there as well and also served as a Deacon. Betty loved her church and her church family.
She was a longtime member of the American Association of University Women, The San Angelo Retired Teachers Association, The Supper Club, and for many years sang with the Senior Saints Choir, a choir made up of members from many different churches, singing together at First Baptist Church.
She married Wallace Craig Gibbs on May 6, 2006 and they shared 9 years together. 
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hervey Latham, her husband Wallace Gibbs, her daughter, Suzanne Latham, her brother, Frank McMinn and her Sister, Frances Graves. She is survived by her loving children, Lu Ann Troudt and husband Steve, of Devine, TX, Elizabeth O’Briant and husband Michael, of San Angelo, and Allen Latham, of San Angelo; her Step-daughter, Linda Hodges, of Pflugerville, TX; her Grandchildren, Mitchell O’Briant and his wife Callie, of Jacksboro, TX, Keller O'Briant and Cameron O’Briant, both of San Angelo, and Chelsea Latham and Robert Castillo, of Mineral Wells, TX. Betty is also survived by 2 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and numerous friends, especially in the Baptist Memorial Community.
The Family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 P.M., - 7:00 P.M., Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 24, 2017 at Southland Baptist Church with Rev. Jill Fulghum officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bronte, Texas. Pall bearers for the service will be Keller O’Briant, Cameron O’Briant, Dale McDonald, Joe McManus, Kevin Huddleston, Bryan Elliott and Tommy Hiebert. Donations may be made to Meals for the Elderly or a charity of your choice.

Jake Lorenzo Garcia, 30, of San Angelo, Texas, entered into eternal peace on Monday, April 17, 2017.

Jake was a family man who loved everyone & was loved by everyone. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife & kids. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Juanita Garcia; and his baby boys Jakob and Josiah. Jake is survived by his wife, Margo; and his five children; Nathan, Jake, Jr., Jalynn, Jayda and Jaycee; his mother and father Elsa and Alfredo Cantu; brothers Andrew, Eric and Leroy Garcia; also, seven nieces and nephews, numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Michael “Jake” Engle, 34 of San Angelo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 16, 2017 in San Angelo after a lengthy illness. Jake was born September 25, 1982 in Van Horn, Texas to Mitch Engle and Mary Conoly. He attended schools in San Angelo and worked in various jobs in the construction business for many years. Jake was a loving son and father. He was always willing to help others in need. Jake was so kind hearted that he would give anyone the shirt off of his back if they needed it and he also gave the best hugs. In his younger days his spare time was spent playing ice and inline hockey. As an adult he enjoyed playing with his boys, fishing, hunting, joking around with people, playing video games and hanging out with his friends. We will dearly miss our beloved Jake, but his love and life will live on in our hearts forever! Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Martha Conoly, his father, Mitch Engle and his daughter, Cadence Engle. He is survived by his mom, Mary Conoly and her fiancée, John Agee of San Angelo, his children, Aiden Engle, Bryce Engle and Peyton Coleman, all of San Angelo; his grandmother, Tomi Engle, of Kerrville, TX, his sister, Tinnie Engle, of Gilmer, TX; a special person who was like a second mom to him, Tracy Benge, of San Angelo; the mother of his children, Amy Brown, of San Angelo; and numerous other Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Yvonne Click Shirley, age 90, walked into God's arms on Easter Sunday 2017. To the many people whose lives she touched throughout her walk on this earth, she was most certainly a precious gift.
Born to James Alexander Louis Click and Nancy Elizabeth Burton Click on November 6, 1926, in Winters, Texas, Yvonne spent most of her life in San Angelo. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1944 and worked as a telephone operator at General Telephone Company.
As the oldest of four siblings, Yvonne was the beloved big sister. Family gatherings of the Click family often included laughter, teasing, and good food. She never stopped being concerned for her younger siblings' health and well-being. They all have wonderful memories of their precious big sister. She meant the world to Jimmy, Valton, and Marcia; their children also dearly loved their "Aunt Von."
Yvonne often smiled when she recalled a pivotal moment: meeting the love of her life, Miaron Shirley. It was wartime, and a handsome airman just happened to choose Bethel Baptist Church for his church home. At a meeting for young people, Yvonne and Miaron were matched up for a get-acquainted walk around the community. When they passed the location of what is now the family residence, Yvonne's "date" finally summoned the courage to ask her age. Knowing she was obviously younger than the soldier, but still hopeful he wouldn't think she was too young for him, Yvonne remembered she said, "I'm fifteen, but I'm almost sixteen." That was good enough for Miaron, and after a courtship of several years, Yvonne left her family, boarded a bus to San Antonio where Miaron was then stationed, and married her sweetheart. They were married by T. Gerald Cates, who later became a pastor of Bethel Baptist Church. At their fiftieth wedding anniversary celebration, Pastor Cates officiated at the renewal of vows for Miaron and Yvonne. Their marriage went on to last sixty-five years until Miaron's passing in 2011. Up until his last days, he still called her his sweetheart. She returned the sentiment by writing in her journal that when he passed away, she lost the best part of herself. 
Miaron and Yvonne Shirley were parents to three children, Sharon, Karen, and Glenn. Throughout the years, Yvonne's love of her family and friends endeared her to everyone. She was a loving, accepting, gentle mother, and her life served as a model for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who followed through the years. She was "Mammaw," and she loved all of them equally. 
Yvonne was the homemaker described in Proverbs 31:10-31. Her penchant for order in her home and in the lives of her family was demonstrated daily. Meals were on time, everything had a place, and the Shirley home was a stable and welcoming place, not only for the three children who lived there, but also for anyone who needed kind words or refuge.
Even in the years of failing health, she always clung to her faith in God, His plan for her life, and His promise for a future with Him. It is an affirmation of this promise that Yvonne's passing was on the same day as we celebrate our Lord's resurrection. It brings peace to her family members to know we will surely meet her again.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sharon and Duane Helweg of San Angelo, Karen and Bobby Payne of Burleson, and Glenn, Sr. and Linda Shirley of San Angelo; brothers, Jim and Jan Click of Midland, Valton and Brenda Click of Abilene, and sister, Marcia Dye of San Angelo. Mammaw is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Michael Byers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brian and Joy Salling of Fort Worth, Kristen and David Waters of Llano, Robby Payne of Burleson, Glenn, Jr. of San Angelo, and Deja Gonzales of San Angelo. Great-grandchildren include Alannah and Lindsey Byers of Tulsa, Jonathan Shirley of San Angelo, Sawyer, Chloe and Violet Salling of Fort Worth, Jazmin and Bella Gonzales of San Angelo, Erin and Kyle Waters of Llano; treasured nieces, Cheryl Lankford of San Angelo and Lori Dye of Lubbock, and a host of other family and friends.
Family Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 7 PM to 9 PM at Johnson's Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM on April 20, 2017, at Lifepoint Baptist Church with the burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
The family requests memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church or Lifepoint Baptist Church. 

Nancy Flint of San Angelo, Texas, left this world at the age of 50, on April 13, 2017, from the arms of her sister to the arms of Jesus. She will truly be missed. 
Nancy was born on September 18, 1966. Nancy was a very strong-willed child and her strong-will grew throughout her life. She had a heart that loved much, but had no problem telling people what was on her mind. Nancy went through school and completed her education at Lakeview High School. She participated in Girl Scouts, 4-H, and the Special Olympics. Bowling was one of her favorite sports. Nancy worked at Clay Corner Shop for 25 years.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Katherine Flint and brother-in-law Don Huisenga. After the death of her parents, Nancy lived with her sister, her niece – Angela Huisenga, her nephews – Jimmy Huisenga and Charles Flint. Even though they called her aunt, they truly treated her and loved her as a sister as they all grew up together. 
Nancy is survived by her sister: Brenda Stewart and husband Marshall; brothers: Ken Flint, Steve Flint, Gary Flint, Kerry Flint and wife Pat, Robert Flint and wife Elizabeth, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
Special thanks go to the staff of Mosaic, and to the staff of Hospice of San Angelo for the loving care that Nancy received throughout the years, and especially over the last couple of months. Nancy was blessed by all that cared for her.

Rest in Peace – Sweet Girl

Ann Wilson Horn was born November 4, 1919 in Waxahachie, Texas to Annie Myrtle (Curry) Wilson and G.M. (Woodrow) Wilson. Soon afterward, the family moved to a farm outside of Miles, Texas where she went to school and graduated from Miles High School. After a short time at Sul Ross College, Ann moved to Kerrville, Texas where she lived for some ten years. While there, she was employed by Real Estate Brokers.

Ann moved to San Angelo and was employed by the founder of Newsfoto Publishing… Company as his secretary until his death. She then joined General Telephone Company of the Southwest as Executive Secretary to the Vice President of Public Affairs and remained in that capacity until her retirement some 30 years later.

During her lifetime, she was always interested in civic and local affairs and served on various boards and committees; including the Symphony Guild, Food Bank and others. Ann was Executive Secretary for the West Side Lions Club for 55 years and that organization and its members remained close to her heart. She was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 55 years and was actively involved in the church’s ministry during most of that time.

Her hobbies and interests included gardening, cooking and entertaining. Ann was well known for hosting parties and gatherings of all kinds. Ann also pursued many types of crafts until she felt the strong desire to paint. She began with oils and later changed to watercolors, an avid interest that remained until her death. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, P.E.O. Chapter FG, and the San Angelo Art Club.

Ann was married to Cliff Horn for 20 years and during that time, they owned and operated a small ranch in Coleman County which was her great joy.

Ann is survived by her sister, Jackie W. Sissel; nephews Rick Wilson and wife Sharon of Abilene, Randy Richards and wife Karen of San Angelo; nieces Barbara Polanco of San Antonio, Linda Joy Peterson and husband Robert of Boerne, Clara Mills and husband Dean of Grove, OK and Janice Walkup of Muskogee, OK.

Ann loved living at Rio Concho West for the last 20 plus years and was very fond of the staff there.

The family wishes to thank Kindred Hospice, with special thanks to caregivers Glenda Chrane Bailey and Elaine.

Johnny Mack Brown, Sr., 72, of San Angelo was welcomed into the Lord’s arms April 14, 2017.
Johnny Mack was born in Texas City, TX on September 29, 1944 to Mildred and Joe Virgil Brown. He lived in the Houston area until 1991, in which time he moved to San Angelo with his wife, Glenda.
His life-long career on this earth was a Pipefitter out of Local 211 in Houston. He followed in his father and brother’s footsteps in the Houston area, and helped build the Houston Space Center as well as;… the nuclear plant in Bay City, TX. He was medically retired with over 40 years of service.
During his first marriage, he was blessed with two children, Cheryl and Johnny Mack Brown, Jr.
Johnny Mack was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Joanne and his brother Jerry. He leaves behind his soulmate and wife of 38 years, Glenda Brown, and "Mom" Jean Hicks, and a grandson, Joseph Virgil Brown of Atlanta, GA. Also a brother and sister in love, David & Ida Hicks, along with many other family members and friends.
In following God’s teachings, he was very evangelistic in wanting to tell anyone who would listen about the miracles that had been awarded to him through his Lord Jesus Christ. Most recently he renounced and cleansed his heart, and prayed for his soul to be cleansed of any and all animosity he had harbored in his heart throughout his lifetime.
He loved his church family at Freedom Fellowship, his Life Group and was always praying for, and with them and loving the Lord Jesus Christ. Johnny was a loving and wonderful husband. He and Glenda walked together in life’s journey, never apart.
An open viewing will be held on Sunday, April 16th from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and also on Monday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens at 10:30 AM.

Our beloved Hubby, Daddy & Pappy went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2017. He was born on January 16, 1965 to Joe David Ward Sr. and Jerry Ward. He met the love of his life at age 16 and they recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They had two children that they adored and gave the whole world too. His dad got him into dirt track racing in '91 stating, "Jump in the water's fine!" We spent 22 years racing, "Families that play together, stay together!" Bubba loved to go camping,… fishing and hiking as a family. He always told the people he loved how much they mattered and he loved being Pappy to his boys, Scooter and Goober, more than anything. Family is everything!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jerry Ward.
He was survived by his best friend and wife, Terry Ward, his son Bubba Joe Ward Sr., wife Michaey, and sons Bubba Joe Jr. and Fletcher Luke, Daddy's Little Girl Karah Bowles and husband Chet, his mom and dad, Joe David Sr. & Barbara Ward, in-law's Joseph Witcpalek, Jimmie and Frances Fletcher, his brother Joe David Jr. and wife Debbie, as well as nieces, nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The honorary pallbearers are Chet Bowles, Joshua Lovelace, Landon Ward, Rhett Blair, Marshall Godwin, Mike Loehman, best man "Butch" Billy Francis and "Dammit Boy" Marvin Taylor.
Services will be held at Grace Temple Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 18th, at 10:30am.

Richard Alan (Dick) Richey was born to Marvin and Ruth Richey on May 18, 1929 in Thorntown, Indiana. He graduated from high school in Lebanon, Indiana where he was an outstanding basketball player and an honor student. Upon graduation he attended Indiana University for one year, and then transferred to McMurry College (now McMurry University) in Abilene, Texas to play basketball under his former high school coach. While at McMurry, Dick was named team captain and All Texas Conference player… for two seasons. During his college years he was elected class favorite, class president, student council president, and Chief McMurry. He was inducted into the McMurry Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991.
While at McMurry, Dick met Era Jane (Andy) Anderson from Colorado City. They were married in 1953. He was awarded a B.S. degree from McMurry and an M.Ed. degree from Abilene Christian College (now Abilene Christian University) and did post graduate work at the University of Hawaii.
Dick Richey worked in several school districts including Brownfield, Coleman, Ballinger, Eldorado, and Andrews. His assignments included teaching algebra, coaching, serving as principal, and for 14 years he was Superintendent of Ballinger ISD. When Dick became superintendent of Ballinger ISD, he was the youngest public school superintendent in Texas! While there he guided the district through a successful bond election and the building of a new high school. He served as President of District XV Texas State Teachers Association, was on many school district committees, and was an active Rotary Club member.
Retiring after 36 years in public education, Dick and Andy moved to San Angelo where he was an active member of Sierra Vista Methodist Church.
Dick Richey always had a song in his heart, singing in Methodist Church choirs where ever he lived. A highlight for him was performing with the Sierra Vista Methodist Church Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

A special pleasure for Dick and Andy was taking family vacation trips around the country in their RV, visiting every state including Alaska and Hawaii. Dick took great pleasure in living to see all his grandchildren graduate from college, and he always enjoyed their many activities.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and by his son-in-law, David Farmer. He is survived by his wife, Era Jane (Andy); his daughter, Sharon Farmer of Midland; his son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Karen Richey of Ovalo; four grandchildren, Heather Thetford and husband, Adam and their three children, Sawyer, Mabrie and Sterling all of Sunset, Texas; Heath Richey and wife Bre of Sulphur Springs; and twins, Jace Farmer and fiancée, Tara Williams of Midland, and Jordan Farmer of Livingston, Texas; by his brother, Dave and wife, Patty of Indianapolis, Indiana; and by nieces and nephews.
Richard Alan Richey was a shining example of integrity and devotion to his faith and his family, and his legacy will live on the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service at Sierra Vista Methodist Church will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 17, 2017. A private burial at the Colorado City Cemetery will be at a later date.
