Maynard Joseph (MJ) Reinders, 94, of San Angelo died June 1, 2018. Visitation will be Monday, June 4, at 6pm followed by the Rosary at 7 pm at Harper Funeral Home. On Tuesday, June 5, graveside services will be at 10 a.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in San Angelo, Texas.
Maynard was born on May 22, 1924 in Westphalia, Texas to Henry and Adelia (Hoelscher) Reinders. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Adelia Reinders, sisters Erma Reinders Braman and Carol Reinders, brother-in-laws, Sherman Braman and James Weishuhn and nephew, Richard Braman.
He is survived by his sister, Jerline Weishuhn of San Angelo, and niece, Carol (Jeanie) Weishuhn Holtman (Danny) of San Angelo, nephew, Gary Weishuhn (Joyce) of Paint Rock, Texas and niece, Janet Braman Hayes (Bill) of Afton, Iowa and many great nieces and nephews. MJ was fondly called "Uncle Bubba" by his nieces and nephew that he loved very much.
MJ graduated from Eola High School. After High School he continued to help his Dad farm in the Eola and the San Angelo areas until he joined the military. After he completed his military service, he came home to help his parents and farm once again with his Dad. He also owned and operated a Sinclair gas station in San Angelo. MJ always enjoyed the outdoors and spent most of his life farming and ranching. He also enjoyed his years of working for Producers Livestock Company where he made many friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals for the Elderly or your favorite charity. Thanks also to the staff of Regency House and Kindred Hospice for the wonderful care and kindness shown to MJ during his stay there.
